There are two distinct times in my life.
Before I was taken.
And after.
When I lost my parents at six and I was thrown into foster care, I didn’t think my life could get any worse.
But I was wrong.
The boy I loved before I understood what those four letters meant made me a promise.
He told me he would save me, but he was too late.
And now, eight years later, I’m beyond salvation.
I can’t be what he needs me to be, because I’m not the girl he left behind.
All that’s left of her is the shattered pieces.
When my past threatens those who saved me, can I walk away to keep them safe?
Or will I be their downfall?

I've been waiting for Ace and Mia story since Tommy's book and my heart broke for Mia. This book is a little darker than the other books. We do see on page rape so be warned that if you can't handle that, please pass on the book.

After 8 years, Ace finally finds Mia she's bruised and a little bit broken, but she's still fighting even if she doesn't show it yet. They think it's over that Mia can finally live in peace and not worry, but there wrong one guy from her past who wants her back. This causes Mia to retreat and build up her walls, always thinking about running, not wanting anyone to be hurt.. but she didn't think Ace would let her leave him. Let her go through the pain she went through. They were perfect for one another he was everything she needed. Even when she pushed him away, he never let her have space he was right there, reminding her he won't leave her, and he won't let anyone do anything to her. And believe me, you do get a little annoyed with her for how much she pushes away and thinks everyone wants something. I get it. But it was annoying.

The spice wasn't as spicy because of the subject, and I was okay with that. But they did have there moments 🥰 and MY GIRL GOT HER REVENGE SO IM GLAD!!

I was confused why Tommy wasn't around much since he was friends with her before she was taken? I wish he and Clara were around more.

Now, there was one part of the book I didn't care for was his pov about what he did the past 8 years. As he looked for her, he still went to bdsm clubs had ons, so he didn't get attached. I wish we didn't get that little snip because it makes the whole "I never stop looking for her" a little tainted for me. Besides that, Ace was an amazing MMC.

Angst,no ow drama/om drama (her rapist), no cheating, secondary character, drama, sexy times, no virgins (we see her flashbacks to being in trafficking and he mentioned about his past)

Woof.. yet another fantastic read by Montana. Before I give my opinion.. please please check warning content. This book has heavy subjects and is the primary focus of the book.

The first book in the series is Severed Ties, Tommy's book, is where we are introduced to these characters so if you want a little snipet of more background, read that book first but it's not necessary as this book is a complete standalone with its own separate plot.

This book picks up where Severed Ties ends, and is the journey of Mia coming back to Ace.

Ace 24/25 is one of the best hackers in the country, he met Mia when she was 6 he 7 at their foster home.. a home where nightmares are born. Ace swore that he'd protect her and get her out.. unfortunately he was too late and has been searching for years to find her with no avail.

Mia 23/24 lost her parents at 6, then went into a foster home where hope dies. But also, a love blossoms through that nightmare between our MCs. Ace finally tells Mia he's coming for her and is going to get her out of there.. but the night Ace and Tommy plan to take her.. their foster dad has other plans in store.. at 16 Mia is sold to The Factory and when she thought her worst nightmare had already started.. that was just a walk in the park compared to the next 8 years.

Mia, poor sweet girl, is finally out of hell and now must navigate being free, but old habits are hard to break, especially when they were enforced on you. Someone from her past that she's tried to forget comes looking for her.. will Ace be able to protect her a second time?

I was nervous to begin this book as I knew this one was going to wreck me and it sure did. The way Montana conveys her characters makes them feel real and I as the reader feel their every thought and emotions. This book does have flashbacks that show just the tip of the hell Mia has been through and they are hard to read, but unfortunately necessary to read to know the depth of brutality she's endured. The whole book was fantastic and so many good scenes that I'll remember but the one that gave me chills and tears in my eyes was the final paragraph omg did that wreck me. Highly recommend reading!!

✨ARC Review✨

Wow, wow, wow, did I mention wow? I am absolutely speechless right now. This author has never failed to let me down and Mia and Ace’s story certainly didn’t disappoint I can tell you that👏🏼

Firstly before going into this book I would most certainly recommend reading Severed Ties and the reason for that is firstly you learn more a bit about Ace and Mia, even though the book is focused on Tommy and Clara, and secondly Severed Ties picks up right where this book begins.

So as I said, this book starts where Severed Ties leaves us and that is where Mia has just been found but Ace, Tommy and the St James family after she was missing for eight years. We learn more behind why Mia ended up where she did in this book and it is honestly heartbreaking, my heart also goes out to Ace who denied himself all of the pleasures and happiness in life because he felt that he failed the love of his life😭

Mia’s story is truely heartbreaking and her healing journey is most certainly not the easiest because of enormous amount of reasons, and Ace takes every step with her on this journey❤️‍🩹 But all is not said in done in which one of the guys from the organisation in which Mia belonged too has resurfaced and is desperate to get Mia back.

Of course Ace will not let Mia fall into their clutches once again and will do everything in his power to ensure it stays that way. I absolutely adored Ace full stop, and the reasons for that was because of how patient and attentive he was of Mia. He was absolutely at her beck and call. Even though Mia was missing for 8 years he never fell out of love with her.

Overall I loved this story, it was a journey of healing and message that love never dies no matter how long it has been. The twists and turns of this book kept me on the edge of my seat and there was quite a feel moments where my tears dripped straight onto my kindle😭

Please do check the TWs with this book, as your mental health is important and there are definitely some very dark themes connected to this book🖤

Thank you so much to the author for providing this e-arc for my honest thoughts 💭

I found the main characters a bit annoying.
I felt empathy for Mia and what she's been through.
I didn't like Ace that much.

This book absolutely wrecked me and then put all the pieces back together. I’ve read and enjoyed all of Montana Fyre’s books, and this one has to have been the most emotional ride for me, for sure.

The fact that Ace over the course of eight years never stopped looking for Mia had me in a chokehold. The fiercest love and obsession he felt over finding Mia was shown through all of his actions through out the entire book. Ace is so patient and kind. Until he’s not (in the bedroom), but he makes sure Mia always feel in control and like she has a voice. Which was so emotional and beautifully written giving that she is a SA survivor.

Mia, although she doesn’t feel like it, is absolutely so badass and resilient. The way she gets her vengeance is true poetic justice. Those scenes were the most vindicating and really granted so much cathartic release not only for Mia and Ace, but the reader too!

The chemistry between Mia and Ace is incredible. Not only during those steamy scenes, but just in the way he protects her and is truly her safe space. Not to mention, how much peace she brings both of them through out the whole healing process. Both were just two halves of a whole waiting to be reunited and complete each other.

Loved seeing all of the Saint James family come together in this book to help Mia and Ace, and Doc of course! Thank you so so much to Next Steps PR and Montana Fyre for the ARC!

My Review:

Shattered Promises by Montana Fyre took me on one heck of an emotional rollercoaster! This book had just the right amount of darkness and spice to keep me hooked from start to finish. ❤️‍🔥

Let's talk about Ace, our swoon-worthy brooding MMC. He's this perfect blend of dark and loving, especially when it comes to Mia, our strong FMC. His undying devotion to her had me swooning more times than I can count. Seriously, who wouldn't want a love like that in their life?

And Mia, oh boy, she's been through the wringer. The abuse, the beatings – my heart went out to her. But watching her kick those mental barriers to the curb and strive for happiness? That was everything. She's sweet, but don't let that fool you – she's got a strength that'll knock your socks off. 💪🏼
Their journey together was dark but oh-so-beautiful. I was rooting for them every step of the way. Honestly, I could've kept reading about them forever; I never wanted their story to end. 💖

Oh, and can we talk about the Saint James family? Talk about a blast from the past! Seeing them pop up was like catching up with old friends. It added that extra sprinkle of nostalgia that had me grinning from ear to ear. 💫 🥰

Overall, Shattered Promises is a must-read for anyone who loves a story packed with emotion, passion, and a whole lot of heart. Montana Fyre has outdone themselves with this one, and I couldn't recommend it more. Trust me, you won't be able to put it down! 📖 💖

I received this book as an ARC, and my thoughts are honest and my own. Please heed the trigger warnings in this book, and please remember your mental health matters.

Seriously, anything by Montana Fyre is just frikken fantastic.
There is nothing that I have read that I haven't liked!

I absolutely love both Mia and Ace, and I couldn't get enough of their relationship! How attentive Ace is while still being firm and respecting her boundaries after everything that she has been through. And boy, has she been through a lot!
My heart just ached for her. And to see her take control of her own body, and her future was just so cathartic that I couldn't help smiling.

Also, the spice! Can I just say.... 🥵🥵 who doesn't love a good necklace!

It was lovely to see the Saint James family again, and I loved the parts they played in this book!

I don't want to spoil anything because you need to read this book for yourself!

Shattered Promises the last book of Tainted Love Series and is about Ace & Mia. It was a heartbreakingly sad story with two awesome souls who found each other again and create their incredible love and bond. Montana didn't disappoint with another great story.

✵.。.✰✰.。.✵
Eight years of searching for the love of your life, eight years never giving up until that day, when Ace is finally able to find Mia, from that moment he shows Mia that she is not broken and how strong and precious she is. He is patient, and always there for her. Mia healings journey is not easy, she is struggling and the organization wants her back.

Such an roller-coaster of emotions with twists and turns, it kept me on edge and i was captured with the whole story.
Mia and Ace's story was so good to read, it was about strength, trauma healing and character development and how they overcome everything. Mia and Ace are definitely meant to be together, after eight years their love to each other is stronger than ever.

Another great point was the appearance of the Saint James Family, they played a big part in their story.

Montana you’ve outdone yourself yet again!! Shattered promises was beautiful and dark, yet still emotional and heartbreaking.

I knew since meeting Ace in Clara and Tommy’s story, I would absolutely fall inlove with him and I did. He was everything the story needed and I was actually obsessed with everything he did. His words, his actions, his priorities, he was honestly the perfect man and it was so fun to read. Mia was a delicate, sweet soul who built a hard exterior. I absolutely loved seeing her grow on the pages- she blossomed into a powerful, thoughtful character. I teared up reading her flashbacks, she had gone through so much and my heart cracked for her. It was healing seeing everyone trying to help her in every way they can.

The plot and premise of this book was interesting. It was the closing of the series; I’ll miss the tainted love series very much. This one was different from the others- it was softer and the love felt gentle and intense all at once. The connection was built from their shared, tragic childhood and we got to see it flourish into something beautiful. Seeing the rest of the Frost industries members pop up was really nice as I miss reading them!! The ending was thrilling, my heart was beating so quick and I just had to know the outcome. Always love Montanas twists and turns in her books.

Thank you for my free ARC, the whole series was so good and I can’t wait to see what Montana releases next💕

I have been obsessed with the Frost Industries and the Tainted Love series - pretty much any story that has the Saint James family storyline but this book was my favorite (even though it is the final book so no new Saint James stories for me)
This book was amazing - written differently is a sense to the rest of the books but
Mia’s story is amazing - enough said!
Such an emotional story and so inspiring about the strength she had and I love the bond between Mia and Ace - they were truly meant to be together!!
So sad this the end of the series.
But I am looking forward to reading more of Montana’s books!!!

I will forever die on the Ace & Mia hill. There was just so much pain, angst, trust, tears and love in this book. I think it’s my favourite of Montana’s to date - which is saying alot because I’ve devoured anything she’s ever written.
Give me a second chance romance with a morally grey hero anyday. Also - I lived for the guest appearances of Storm and Rayne. I love how she keeps those characters alive.

Talk about ending a series with a bang! The insane chokehold this book had on me! I had the most difficult time putting it down. I knew Ace’s story was going to be good but let me tell you 👏🏻I 👏🏻was 👏🏻not 👏🏻ready!!

Mia absolutely broke my heart. The unimaginable things she had to endure after her kidnapping at such a young age was devastating. ‼️HEAVY TRIGGERS‼️ I just wanted to reach through the pages and give her the biggest hug. Watching her piece herself back together and realizing how strong she really is was honestly the absolute best part of the book.

Ace had me absolutely speechless. The devotion and love this man possesses for Mia is otherworldly. When he admits how he deprived himself of things that he knew Mia couldn’t have made me sob! The amount of care he took into helping Mia navigate through her recovery made me love him even more. And once Mia coaxed Ace to open up his dark side…💀 I went feral! The man knows what he’s doing!

The fact that Ace and Mia were so close growing up in foster care and even knew back then that they were soul mates just about did me in 🥹. It was the perfect backstory that just added so much more depth and intimacy. And of course it wouldn’t have been complete without Tommy, Clara, and the St James family! Shattered Promises was the perfect ending to the Tainted Love series.

Grab your tissues Nooo get the whole fu*king box😭❤️❤️

I was so excited for Ace and Mia's book and this book didn't disappoint at all.
Ace and Mia's story had me in a rollercoaster of emotions i was crying smiling blushing and was so so happy.

Lets talk about Ace my god this MAN i knew he is going to be so so good but whenever he spoke i was swooned. He did alot and i mean it ALOT because if you read this book you will understand what he did to himself because she was going through so much. And he lived for eight years like that too he was suffering too. I love me some brooding hackers and when i knew of him in Tommy's book i knew he was going to be my favourite and he became one ❤️❤️

Lets talk about Mia our sweet and gone through so much one can't even imagine. She is strong took her time to get back to the real world and Ace was there every body was but mainly She was there Mia was there to fight all the things. I love how she want to live a happy and good life. I gasped when Mia was mentioned in Tommy's book in the end was soooo soo happy that they found her there too ❤️❤️

The Saint james family was there too and i was so happy to read about them they all have a special spot in my heart ❤️❤️

Those who read the book you know the little details because i know i loved everything.

First and foremost, thank you for the ARC of this book!

This is actually book 3 / interconnected standalone, so as it’s not necessary to read the other books in the series first before dive in into this book, I think it’s better to read them first to get more vast pov of each characters and surroundings.

To be honest, I haven’t read Severed Ties or any previous book from this series before diving in into this book, yet I have no trouble to enjoy the story and the book. Nothing confuses me and it definitely is good to be read standalone, even it’s interconnected. I do already added the previous book in my tbr though since I am falling in love with their universe and wanted to get into other character’s world as well.

So for this book, it’s about Ace & Mia - their life, their journey, their love story. They didn’t grew up easy, and each one faces lots of hardships in their life, so yes please check the trigger warnings as there are many dark things being included in this book as apart of their life & love journey - those doesn’t bothered me much but might be truly disturbing for some of you. They’ve been separated for years as well before finally being together again, and the trauma that each one of them experienced, kinda gave such emotional roller coaster ride.

Love each characters, and the writing are good too. Overall I do enjoy this book, and looking forward to read all books in this series!

Another amazing read by Montana Frye. Be sure to read your trigger warnings. This story is heartbreaking, devastating, and absolutely beautiful.

Ace and Mia’s story broke me. After 8 years apart, both going through different versions of the same hell they finally find each other.

Mia is a human trafficking survivor who has spent 8 years going through hell. Throughout the book she battles with the trauma and tries to get back to the mindset that she is safe, and that Ace can protect her. It is a very heavy book and it’s definitely hard to read about Mia’s struggles after being saved and Ace’s struggles with trying to help Mia feel safe.

I would suggest reading book 1 and 2 and maybe even Frost Industries Series first as the ties between them are strong.

Although this is heavy and devastating read it is worth it to get to the end. Highly recommend.

Shattered Promises by Montana Fyre is book Three in the Tainted Love Series. This is the story of Mia and Ace. This is a interconnecting series so I do think reading the previous books will add to your enjoyment of this one. Mia and Ace when they where younger where friends going toward more but then something bad happened. Mia has been rescued by her family and Ace. Mia is learning to live and be free again. Ace is being patient with her as she gets more confident. This does have some dark story line so if you are sensitive to that then please be advised. I enjoyed getting Ace and Mia's story.

Another amazing book by Montana…..Ive been waiting for ace book since the beginning. Ace finally found Mia after 8 long dead end years and he isn’t letting her out of his sight. The way ace is so gentle and caring and possessive over Mia is amazing. The things Mia went through all those years is unspeakable. Nobody should have to endure that kind of life. They struggle in the beginning ace is patient and carful with Mia until he has an idea that sets the spice level up… yet Mia is constantly wanting to run from him she has convinced herself she is a inconvenience to everyone. Ace finds out Mia is hiding something from him and he flips the switch and becomes an unhinged man to show her how much he loves her and prove she isn’t running away from him… Then the past shows up and Mia becomes the little baddie she was meant to be….. it was a beautiful childhood sweetheart love story that truly stood the test of time. Oh my lordy lord. This book..

Just when you think Montana can’t do any better then she comes along with this.

First, for the love of dark romance please check the triggers. This is not a fluffy trigger list and there are moments of this book that can be incredibly triggering.

The main aspect of this book that was executed so amazingly was Mia’s recovery. Ace was incredibly patient, and it really did have to test what we need from a morally grey MMC. Even with out favourite trait of possessiveness this is tested a lot while Ace does this in a way different to the standard MMC. His love for Mia has no bounds and the role he plays in her healing was vital. However the full credit goes to Mia.

The way this was written has your heart in a choke-hold is insane. I read this in one sitting but honestly that’s never a surprise because I have inhaled every single one of Montana Fyre’s books.
Her writing is comfort for me, it feels like the warm meal you have after a long long day out in the cold and rain.

The story line was phenomenal, there is an incredible plot, a good dollop of spice and plenty of humour and visits from our favourite previous characters.
I would highly recommend reading the frost series along side the tainted love series to get the full experience and to appreciate every single character and their journey to get to the point where we meet Ace and Mia.

This book was incredibly hard to get through. One thing this author does well is make you feel like these characters are real people and what they are feeling are real emotions. There are lots of books out there that deal with this type of scenario and the healing journey for these women. But never have I read one where this journey seemed believable, like at any moment, this could all go sideways. And that she is just broken so deeply and that her healing cannot be done just by a relationship alone. While this was dark and heart breaking, there was still a hope about it. As the reader, I was really rooting for them to overcome all this darkness internally and externally to be able to be together. We also got to see all the character from this series we love and from Frost Industries. I’m so glad we finally got this book and it is so worth read if you can sit through all the darkness to see the light at the end.

Ace and Mia first met in a brutal foster home where he looked out for the young girl who had lost her parents until he had no choice but to run. He was torn at leaving Mia behind knew she was too young to survive on the streets with him, so he left, vowing to go back for her when she was older. But time ran out for Mia, just as rescue was in her grasp, it was snatched away, and she would endure years of physical, sexual and mental abuse before achieving her freedom.

Shattered Promises will put you through an emotional wringer, it was easily the hardest read in the Tainted Love series and I would recommend that you read the author’s list of trigger warnings before reading. Dark and brutal, angsty and emotional, it was difficult to read the parts that covered everything that Mia had gone through. It would’ve broken a weaker character, but it was obvious that she had a core of steel. My heart hurt for both her and Ace who had never forgotten her and had spent years searching for any clue that would get him one step closer to her. When they are finally reunited Ace has a fight on his hands to make her see that she wasn’t broken. Loved the ending even if I thought Mia’s abuser got off lightly.

ARC REVIEW
*I was given this ARC in exchange for an honest review*

Please read the trigger warnings before going into this. This is a very heavy read.

This book weighed heavily on my heart. I felt for Mia. She's been through so much, and when she finally gets a glimpse of what her life could've been like, her past comes back with a vengeance. The only difference between the past and now is that she has Ace by her side. And they are not prepared for him.
From the beginning, Ace is trying his absolute hardest to help Mia. From protecting her to having her around people, he knows, will help. Ace has his own issues to handle, but Mia is his sole purpose.
I cried, not even going to lie. I'm very emotional with my books, but this one hit me. Maybe I bonded with the relationship of Mia and Ace from the beginning, but I know this book was really good.

Heartbreakingly beautiful!

Mia and Ace’s story was devastating. Separated for eight years,Mia went through hell while Ace tried so hard to find her.

Mia is a human trafficking survivor, though through most of the book she doesn’t much feel like she has actually survived. It was definitely hard reading about what has happened to Mia and then seeing her suffer from her trauma. It was heartbreaking to see Ace destroyed again and again as he tries to help her.

But their love story is absolutely worth the hard reading parts. Definitely check your triggers on this one.

The spice was delicious when we got some, but this is plot heavy so don’t expect a ton of spice.

Ace and Mia's Story was EVERYTHING!!! I was not left disappointed by this emotional (Tissues recommended) experience. They both fought so hard to be together. Mia's experiences were horrible, to say the least. Watching her processs them and try to move on was heartbreaking yet forfilling (I felt like a proud mumma bear as i read this book). And in true Montana style, we had the added bonus of a vile bad guy and some action. MOST of all, we got the pleasure of seeing Saint James again cause we all love that family!!

In "Shattered Promises", Montana Fyre proves once again she is the Queen of dark romance in this addictive, pulsating novel! Sparks fly between Ace and Mia, I was absolutely hooked by their electrifying chemistry right from their first interaction!

This book is the perfect example of love conquers all with alot of bad stuff in between.

CHECK THE TRIGGER WARNINGS THOROUGHLY!
Ace and Mia go through it all in this book.
The friendships they build along the way definitely show that blood isn't everything that makes a family.

This book hit the emotions hard in several places.
Well written and definitely a great read.

I was beyond excited to read Ace and Mia’s story. They’ve been on my mind since Tommy and Clara. Ace is top five for my book boyfriends. He’s so sweet, caring, patient, and the way he calls Mia ‘sugar’ gives me butterflies. I can’t wait for y’all to read their story.
