Scoring Off a Rebound
Junior Maddie Smith can’t wait for the start of the 2024-2025 college hockey season. She’s entering her third season as the student public relations specialist for the University of Sugar Grove Foxes and she’s excited to be back with the boys after summer break. The start of the year also brings a bit of a surprise for Maddie and the a late addition to the roster.
Junior Sebastian Ruutu transferred to USG at the very last minute and will be vying for first line center this season. Sebastian is also now Maddie’s new neighbor at her apartment complex. Maddie can tell right away there’s something special about Sebastian, both on and off the ice, though junior Tanner Dach–Maddie’s not-so-ex-boyfriend–isn’t thrilled about this revelation.
Not only does Tanner have to battle against Sebastian for first line center in the line-up, but he has to fight him off the ice for Maddie’s attention. Despite her better judgment, Maddie has been struggling for months with her on-again, off-again relationship with Tanner. She just can’t seem to quit him even though he’s done her wrong in the past.
Is Sebastian the key to her finally moving on from Tanner? Or will she finally give in and get back together with Tanner for good? Which center will snag the first line spot and lead the way for the team on the ice? Because of this book, I now understand what people mean when they say they had so much fun reading a book. Once I started, I couldn't stop! I appreciated reading a hockey romance that actually includes game play. The character development is amazing, but Johnny is the best. I cannot wait for the next book!
