This is a hot little read for those of you who have wondered what it would be like to book a session with a sex therapist who makes house calls. Oh, and he's a Dom and is willing to test your limits with his spanking techniques. Turns out Marie Reid does not regret her drunk dial.
TL's writing is strong, and I was totally down with the premise to this story. Why the heck not hire a hottie to burn off some steam? And I LOVE stories with successful women making their way in the world who have real struggles. I had to take one star off because of a trend I see in BDSM stories where they include important elements of the lifestyle but they are either not particularly well displayed or come out of order. Don't get me wrong! I was so happy that there was a safeword and some real aftercare here. But, Jax should have reminded Kat/Marie/Willow of its existence before he pushed her too far, not after. And aftercare should be just as important as the steamy scenes themselves, a true Dom would have never left his sub in the state Jax did or go through with a scene if her emotional state was off. Minus those small details, this story was a pleasure to read. The dialogue was great and I appreciated the subplot being wrapped up. And boy oh boy can TL write some sexy times. I gobbled it up in one sitting.
If you are looking for a short read this is a good one. I have to say this particular book was slow for me in places and at times was short of keeping my attention. I continued with it because it was interesting storyline about Willow and Jaxson. I felt because he was a therapist it gave an element of pushing boundaries for a story. There were times when I felt more intensity or build up of the love scenes should've been added. Over all it had a decent level of steam.
This story was incredibly steamy, sexy and makes you say....what's that phone number, lol.
It was a really good story, the characters were well connected and you could feel the chemistry bounce off of them. I really thought the storyline was a great bonus, because it wasn't all about the " therapy", but about moving forward and letting go.
Let's just say this was basically 124 pages of hot, hot "not sex" BUT the plot was also there! Somehow! Just read it and you'll understand. BDSM, HELLA tension and anticipation.. I was panting like a dog in heat over J. Daniels 🥵 This book deserves far more reads, ratings, and reviews.
This was an interesting idea, but I didn't love the execution. The writing was okay, but I never felt attached to the characters or their "romance". She just wasn't someone that I could connect with. Based on the basis of the plot, to remain professional, there shouldn't have been romance, but once the contract ended, it felt like it came out of nowhere to me.
This was a quick, sexy and enjoyable read. Marie is an executive with a stressful job and not much time to meet guys - in fact she's only been with one since the breakup with her long term boyfriend 2 years ago. She finds a card for a sex therapist at a party and drunk-dials him. Once sober she considers cancelling, but decides to go through with it and has a life changing experience. Mr. Daniels is a Dom who doles out spankings along with pleasure to his clients - but his experience with Marie is life changing for him as well!
I did enjoy this book but I would have liked some answers too.
What the hell was all that stuff about Tim? Who is Jax as a person? Why should she have done research? How did he get into this job?
The HEA felt rushed. What now? This is a novella so unless there is going to be a full length book which I doubt since there can't be much more of story line left. There could have been maybe a part 2.
Spanking and dominance really isn't my thing but if it's yours you will love this book. Tara's light and sparkly style make this hot little tale a delightful read. Not a book to read in the family living room in the evening. Save it for a lazy weekend alone, just you and a glass of Jack Daniels.

All I can say is wow! Refreshing to read a story that has a different and unique storyline. I finished reading this in one sitting, three straight hours. This was my first time reading anything by T.L. Watson. I'm looking forward to more books from this author.
I read this when it was first published so I might not do it justice by posting a review now. What I do remember about it though is that it was sexy and a fun read.
