We have got just one life and it is imperative that we make it worthy so that we can do justice to the efforts of our creator . There have been innumerable personalities before us , who by sheer dint of their hard work has proved that nothing is impossible. The latest addition to that historic list is my own cousin @neeti007 who has just cleared UPSC after almost a decade of sheer perseverance and hoping she will also document her journey in the form of a book some day.
"Dare To Sunshine" is an inspiring collection of some of the well known and some unsung women too , whose contribution to the mankind is immaculate. The stories gives a sneak peek into the lives of such strong personalities who defies all odds and with their insurmountable courage proved to the world that loss is just an illusion . Ultimately we all win , sooner or later providing that we follow the path of righteousness.
The story that left an indelible mark on my psyche was of Ahilyabai Holkar ji whom I feel is the strongest to ever live. How she overcame the sheer brutality of Islamic invaders around her who (till date) know nothing better that butchering any living form they come in contact with and despite losing everything in her life , she still stood tall in the face of adversity. Kiran Bedi ji , the first female IPS officer (whose autobiography, "I Dare" , I still keep close to my heart) , Lata Mangeshkar ji , arguably the most melodious voice we ever witnessed, Mary Kom, the legendary Olympic Medalist boxer are some of the other notable additions.
The author with her impactful writing skills has encouraged every reader to take a cue from the lives of such great beings and do something similar for their own self , family and ultimately their nation.
Overall a must read book. Highly Recommended.

In this book the author want to know some inspiring stories of women who faced a lot of struggle to shine.
There are stories of 20women some I heard in news and about many other I heard for the first time and their struggle throughout their life was incredible and many women can take them as a role model to achieve what ever they are dreaming to become.
As I mentioned in below, I wish there is more about their life
1.Neera Arya- A female spy in Azad Hind Fauj
It's never easy to be a spy and the dedication she had was unspeakable
2.Anandibai Josh- First indian women to travel abroad to study medicine.
She may not live many years but she inspired many women to pursue medicine and to reach greater heights
3.Ahiyabai holkar- queen of malwa
She lost everything in her life and yet she stood for her kingdom and made great reforms. Can't imagine how tough she is..
4.Saviorsbai phule- socially reformer, educator
5.Phoolan devi- Bandit queen
6.Leila Seth- Chief Justice of a state in India
7.Sarla thukral- first women pilot to make a solo flight

Reading the inspiring stories of twenty (20) women changemakers, who have dared to challenge the world and achieve great success against all odds in their lives, made me realise that nothing is impossible. This book celebrates twenty ‘Women’ who refused to surrender to their circumstances and even destiny, breaking stereotypes to emerge victorious and set an example before each one of us.
The book contains twenty (20) chapters and each chapter will take you through a life journey of a strong woman who chose not to succumb to the worst circumstances, even when she had to go through a lot of difficulties. These women knowingly or even unknowingly made us realise that even when we are pushed to the point of complete hopelessness, there is still hope, if we never give up on ourselves.
Overall, I loved the book. The language used is simple. The author did a great job narrating each story in such a simple way. It is a kind of short and well researched book which gives an insightful account of twenty incredible women. Must read for everyone.

"Dare to Shine" by Kamini Kusum is a collection of excerpts from the life of few known and few unsung women heroes of our country, like Shrimati Droupadi Murmu, Ahilyabai Holkar, Lata Mangeshkar, Mary Kom, Phoolan Devi, Reshma Pathan, and many others. These women have dared to overcome the challenges faced by then to write their name in the history. I found this book truly inspiring, and even got to know more about some unsung women changemakers. After reading this book, I got the similar feeling of motivation and courage that I used to get in my earlier days reading about the famous personalities. I would like to thank the author for reinstating this feeling in me, and I hope to get inspired by the works of these women to do well in life. I would definitely recommend this book to all the fellow readers.

While i was reading this book .. my heart kept going back to the women who majorly contributed to my life ... ❤️
Author has made an really good collection to showcase how women can become a contributor and a guide to future generations.These days when we feel its easier to give up than to beat the barrier 😬 ... These stories are a bunch of life stories which can go from as 21st century to pre independence era ... I loved the people she has selected..
My favourite was in these were Latadi and Ahilyabai Holkar.. Simply superb and so much learn ... From them❤️
I wish every woman should pickup this book n read .. Im going to read it again in my lows and when i need a small little push 😊
