Hunting Truth is the much anticipated fourth and final installment of the kindle top 10 erotica fiction Orion the Hunter series.
Issy Price wakes in a strange bed after walking out on her man, Lucas Hunter, after she is paid a visit by a malevolent stranger who brings news that shocks her to the core. It seems that Lucas Hunter is not the man he said he was. Can she forgive him for the events that led to her walking out on him? Maybe everything isn't as it seems.
In Hunting Truth, we learn more about Lucas' past that could impact massively on his present ... it could even destroy his future. Lucas' past has well and truly caught up with him. Actions from the past and his need to hunt down and seek revenge could lead to Lucas losing all that he's worked for. Has he inadvertently brought about his own destruction?
The rock band, Denial, seemed destined for greater things. The hard won tour and possibility of a record contract were theirs for the taking. Surely the past can't wreak havoc on that too.
And what's a sex club got to do with it all? It brings out the darker side of an unlikely person for starters!
Can the relationship between Lucas and Issy survive the pressure? Or is the deep, blood-spilled revenge from the past too strong? That decision may just be taken out of their hands ...
Caution: this book contains scenes of a sensual and sexual nature, including mild BDSM.
Short bio: UK based, bestselling Indie author of contemporary romance … otherwise known as elegantly filthy erotica. Shoeaholic. Introvert. Prude. Teetotaler. Compulsive Liar ... well, not about the shoes. I never lie about shoes!!
UK bestselling author of the Passion Noire, Rouge Passion and Orion the Hunter series. Not your average romance novelist ... but then, who wants to be average?
I love reading - almost as much as I love writing.. I relish the sheer escapism of losing myself in a book that grips me and takes me on an emotional roller coaster. I regularly mourn the passing of a good book - am I the only one who turns the pages more slowly when you don’t want a great book to end?
I love a good steamy romance and I adore sexy alpha males. I also have more than a passing interest in BDSM (nod, nod … wink, wink). One day, I put pen to paper (well fingers to keyboard, actually) and the Orion the Hunter series was born. Little did I know that, at that moment, I was sewing the seeds of change. For, just a few months later, as a somewhat bewildered Amazon Kindle bestselling Indie author, I quit my career as an education professional to write full time. Scary stuff, I think you’ll agree.
2013 was a very difficult year for me for personal reasons. It taught me how fragile life is and how important it is to grab it with both hands and ride the hell out of it. So in 2014, I began my comeback with the Amazon #1 Bestselling Erotica/Romantic Erotica bestselling series, Rouge Passion. I also met many of my favourite authors and so many lovely readers at my first signing event in Edinburgh. I flipped Stu Reardon’s kilt! Happy days …
I have big plans for 2015. I’m signing at several more author events around the UK and I’m pouring my heart and soul into what I consider my best series yet - by far! Cue Passion Noire, a three part series revolving around La Veuve Noire - a sexual therapist by day and a desirable Domme by night. But fear not, sexy alphas are still on the menu. I mean … this is me!
Well what can I say, we have waited a long time for this book and it was well worth the wait, this book has a great story as well as a great love story, Lucas is an alpha male and drop dead gorgeous obviously and Issy is a strong stubborn beautiful woman, match made in heaven! There are lots if twists and turns in this book and answers all the questions from the 1st 3, I don't want to give anything away cause I hate spoilers , but if u like a HOT love story then buy these books, you won't be disappointed!
First and foremost - great to have author JD Chase back and writing following the death of a loved one.
Unfortunately, that makes me wince thinking about the honest review I pride myself on providing with the books I read. I had so look forward to this final installment, re-read the prior books to reacquaint myself, but more often than not was extremely frustrated at times with this novel.
The characters seemed to be all over the place - suffice to say I had whiplash keeping up with all of their conflicting actions/emotions. Just having Lucas as an example: nice one moment/BDSM dominant the next/crying here and there/deceptive/physically rough with Issy, etc. I didn't enjoy the supporting cast, Scott was very two-faced, Chad was annoying, and Angel caused me to more than once grab my hair in frustration for her interruptions during suspenseful moments and unintelligent comments. I appreciate when authors give depth to characters by having them exude different emotions, but it needs to stay true to who they are otherwise it just creates confusion. I got whiplash trying to fit their actions to the impressions I had of them in my mind, many didn't seem natural character reactions.
The plot was also confusing to me - there were very obvious pointed foreshadowing attempts, foolish dramatics which interrupted pacing (Angel during the van scenes), and was anti-climatic at the end (wrapped up in two paragraphs) with an unsatisfying epilogue and several remaining questions .
That said - I enjoyed books 1-3 enough to want to keep an eye out for future works, just think after a long wait I might have had elevated expectations for how I had hoped this one would round out.
Loved this series - hot, raunchy and full of secrets being spilled - totally hooked - Lucas is divine - will have to live with re-reads as series is complete
Amazing conclusion of Lucas and Issy's story. Just because it's the conclusion, make no mistake that you will be taken on an intense, passionate and full on roller coaster ride. Just when you thought he sex couldn't get hotter, the drama couldn't get fiercer or the plot thicken more, then you are sadly mistaken and will be gripping your kindle, nook, or iPad.
The story picks up from where it left off in book 3 and all the characters bring new depth and meaning. You will be gripped with the twists and turns of the story. The sex takes a turn to open your mind and experiences. Jealousy, lust, wanting, need are palpable in every word.
2.5 conflicted stars. Loved book 1-3 and was sooo looking forward to this final installment. While the first half of book four was interesting, it feels like the second half was all over - going from Chad/Angel to Scott to Joel to Lucas.
That said, I look forward to more reads from JDC again.
I followed the story of Lucas and Issy with pleasure. He being a reclusive but sexy as he'll Dom and she being a feisty down to earth career woman with a rock group as her friends. It's a great read if you are into fifty shades of grey.
3.5 stars. A good ending to this series. The last 1/4 of the book had me laughing at Chad and Angel's comments to each other. Overall this was a good series.
This was a complete DNF! First of all, this book is set in Manhattan but everyone speaks like this should be set in London or some other city on the other side of the pond. It actually took me a minute to realize that these characters were not transplants to the U.S. Second, Issy is an unbelievably annoying, self-absorbed, pretentious, slutty bitch! I really wanted nothing more than for her to get mowed down by a taxi or mamed by some rabid escaped zoo animal. Her friends are annoying at best, and really have no redeeming qualities as far as I can see. The ONLY reason this book even got one star is because of Lucas. I did kind of like him, but even he was completely unbelievable as a dominant, alpha male. He came off more as a whiney douche than a strong, confident alpha. The sex was boring, and even though I didn't make it all the way through, if I would have had to read one more inner monologue that contained thoughts like "oh,my" and "I heard myself gasp" I was going to gouge the words out of my kindle. Obviously this is a VERY poorly written mashup of 50 shades and the crossfire series, of both I was, am and will always be a huge fan of; this definitely not. I really want my money back!!
WTF did I just read? Was that really part of the series? The first three books were pretty good then I come across the final book and just read a book that didn't fit within the theme of the other three. The sex scenes were stale and boring, predictable and I found the language odd! This book was set in America yet the characters dialog had a lot of British slang and words. I know the author is British but seriously? Do your research. Very disappointed! Felt let down and wasted my time reading this series.
Finał przerósł moje oczekiwania. Z każdą kartką tego tomu moje emocje wzrastały. Nie mogłam się od niej oderwać. Intryga okazała się mocniejsza niż przypuszczałam. Naprawdę fajnie napisana historia Issy i Lucasa. I z czystym sumieniem polecam ją fanom erotyków.
I have just re-read all of the four books because I was having Lucas withdrawals, I just think hes lush and super sexy, especially when hes singing Paul Wellers, you do something to me, to Issy. that song is forever playing in my head as I picture them together, its just a shame the story had to end. all I can say is well done JD for giving us Lucas ;) ;) ;) ;) ♥♥♥♥♥
I liked the idea of the story line and have read 4 of the books and haven't reviewed until now because I felt it was one of those series of books that could have been one book. I'm aso a little disappointed with the lead characters responses to the drama unfolding I just don't know if it would be the real response and I also didn't feel I built a relationship with the characters
