Great book for anyone wanting to learn the art of amateur radio. Goes through all of the 411 FCC amateur radio test questions for 2022-2026 question pool. The best part is that it actually EXPLAINS WHY the answer is correct. It is a great resource for anyone using amateur radio frequencies. The math and writing level is written to a middle school level so it is approachable for anyone wanting to get licensed. I bought this book and studied it for 4 weeks before taking the test and scored a 93%. You can too!
Overall a good prep book for the Technician level license. Needs some editing where sentences abruptly cut off. Also could use some work on definition section. Acronyms like "SWR" show up and then aren't explained until far later in the book.
Questions T9A09 and T9A08 can be solved with a different formula. As written, the book does not explain where the numbers 468 and 234 are derived. Unless they explain that 468 is the rate through a conductor rather than through air, then they should use the alternate formula: 6m wavelength for half dipole is 3m. 1m=39" so 39x3=117"
They recommend studying for 30 days, but managed to study in a 10 day time span and scored 94% on exam. For people really new to radio will likely need other books to supplement this one to really grasp some of the concepts.
