I’m not ok. That cliffhanger was absolutely brutal.

This was not an easy read. The dangers surrounding Cat and her men—her growing number of admirers—threaten to overcome them. Sacrifices are made, blood is spilled, and secrets are revealed.

Such a drastic turn from book one. Most of this book was spent on how much torture Catarina could handle, the guys doing nothing, and them being in bed together. There were a couple of shocking things, especially in regards to Caterina. But I feel the ending wouldn't have happened had she been a bit smarter and a bit more vigilant. Again, this is the same issue I had with her in book 1. She knew her father was awful, and Matteo was a traitor, yet she did nothing. When she finally stepped up, it was too late. The guys are also useless. They did nothing to defend her or help her. Honestly, there is no point to them. At this point, I'm not sure I want to continue. I'm disappointed with how this one turned out, especially since I've been so excited about the rest of the series.

So stupid

Spoilers..I'm sorry but you act like she is a strong women but she is just a doormat. She does nothing except her beat up by men and that is strong. These men are weak, I want someone to kill for her, not stand by and do nothing. They are to be smart but dumb as a box of rocks. Clearly you don't have things in place, if they died.
I wanted more from this. Leo situation was a joke. Like why keep alive for no reason, she doesn't punish anybody.
Does she kill rapist, no but she is all for the girls.
You made her weak but you say she is strong. She should of put a bullet in her cousin head but did she, nope.
This book was more about her in bed than being a strong Mafia woman. I liked book one but hated this.
I don't want to read about women being beaten and raped and nothing happens to the men. Sorry

DNF at 70% the book was going too slow with sprinkles of some kind of plot. Cat is portrayed as a strong badass woman but all I see is a scared girl who is unable to step into the shoes she chose to accept.

The writing in book 2 also felt choppier like the author want Cat to remain an enigma of sorts but unable to make the story flow smoothly.

I thought that I had left my mafia romance era but this series has pulled me back in. I have no regrets! Caterina Corvo is a brilliant BA character and I looooooove her. The persona she puts on as the heir of the Corvo Family is impressive, but makes the glimpses of her vulnerable side even more precious.
Usually with why-choose books, I can claim a favorite amongst the love interests. That is not the case here. Each of Cat’s men goes above and beyond in different ways and at varying times in the story. When I think that one has pulled ahead, another shows his devotion in an equally spectacular manner.

The spice level is perfect for the story and the characters. It’s definitely higher in this book than in book one. The twists and turns are full of surprises and intrigue and kept me guessing about what was happening next. This does end on a cliffie but the next book won’t be too far away.

4.5 Stars! I was loving this series but so far (53% in) book 3 is slowly erasing that love. The series started out on a high but is going super low at the moment.

So. Disappointing.

Going to start off with the fact that Mafia Romance is not my go to. But if you like the genre- you may like it? No idea haha.

I really liked the start of the series. I inhaled that first book haha. But this book, by the end, made me realize this wasnt for me. Even though a few of the characters put her through shit-- she just kinda forgives without any groveling?? We are told, form the jump, that she is a strong/confident lady that is steps ahead from everyone... yet she couldn't forsee (though it was obvious) Matteo pulling that stunt??? Then the plot at the end was hinting at what the thrid book was to be about (R*pe/forced marriage to predator) and I was like, NOPE (and its supposed to be university/academy romance, which I see none of - the cheesy series title is useless). Needle in coffin to that series. So needless I wont be reading the third book.

The only word I can use to describe my reaction to this book is gagged. Absolutely gagged. Flabbergasted.

In this amazing second book, Evelyn Food takes us through the continued story of Caterina, Domenico, Dante, Luciano, and (shockingly) Giovanni.
Caterina goes through even more hardship and struggles. But she has her boys? Right along with her. A family is what Luciano called them and I definitely shed some tears.

This book is going to take you through so many rollercoasters you will be stuck in one spot until you finish. And when you finish YOU WILL BE GOBSMACKED. A CLIFF HANGER??? What do I do with myself until the next book? This book snatched me out of a book funk and threw right back into my book obsessions.

Rage read

That ending really pissed me off.

This book was just alot of smut with tstl decisions taken by everyone.

I mean these people are supposed to be the future leaders of the mafia and the crazy villian manages to be smarter than them and he isn't that smart in the first place.

Ugh I'm so annoyed.

omigod soooo good ❤️

I’ve said it before and I am saying it again …l wish all RH books were this good …. Evelyn Flood is in a league of her own in this writing genre and I’m so here for it … If i could give more than 5 stars i would ….

⭐️ because the author deserves some recognition and kudos for taking the time and energy to write this - (but please don’t make me read it again) … however correct word use / spelling / grammar / punctuation / professional proof reading and editing are a vital necessity all writers need to fully embrace like a long lost and greatly desired lover and never let go of …

⭐️⭐️ so close and yet so far for … loved the concept just not the delivery for various reasons … but most likely because of the glaringly obvious lack of professional proofreading and editing skills … and /or … one … if not all … of the main characters made me want to slap them (and not in a good / fun/ sexy way) because they were utterly annoying or worse boring …. but i am sure some other readers will love it… just not me ..

⭐️⭐️⭐️ things that make you go hmmmm …. but not : oh my god yes give me more … and because correct spelling/ grammar/ punctuation and professional proof reading and editing of a book are essential for any story to flow smoothly …. still worth the time to read … who knows you might love it …

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ definitely worthy of songs of praise and numerous re reads …
but not quite a 5⭐️ simply because of editing/ spelling / grammar / punctuation/ wrong words used / wrong names or wrong physical descriptions of main characters / minor story line issues (all things that are a pet hates of mine and make me grumpy) which interrupted the flow of the story and forced me out of my happy reading bubble and back into reality …

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ gah… I’ve found the meaning of life and couldn’t stuff the story into my greedy brain fast enough …. loved it so much i will willingly make snacks / give massages / oversee human sacrifices if it helps the author ( who is a true god/ goddess of story telling and worthy of worship and copious amounts of adulation ) write more books immediately so i can buy them and hoard them like a wanna be dragon ….
in other words … drop everything and read this book right now and you can thank me later 😁

“Mayhem of Crows” by Evelyn Flood is a rollercoaster ride of a story! I devoured this book and cannot wait for the next one in the series. In the meantime, let’s dig into my thoughts…

First off, I made the mistake of thinking this was a duet and that this was the end of the duology. Don’t be like me — this is actually a four book series. In this book, we’re able to learn more about Cats whereabouts, as well as get to watch the relationship between the heirs, and Dom, deepen.

Character development in an RH is extremely important to me, especially when you have enemies that are spending more time together (say, an enforcer and an heir). Flood carefully crafts a relationship that is both believable and realistic. There are times throughout the story where I did find certain moments cheesy, but overall I found the development to be enjoyable. By the end of the book I wasn’t cheering for each of the guys and didnt feel like there were any relationships that were “better” than any of the others! Though, if we’re being honest, I am partial to Dante and Luc.

In addition to the character development, the plot itself is engaging and keeps you hooked. Again, I didn’t realize this book wasn’t the ending, and so I foolishly thought that all of the problems occurring at 96% would be resolved in a few pages…needless to say the cliffhanger left me staggering. This is undoubtedly one of my favorite books of Flood’s, and I cant wait for the next installment. If you read any of Flood’s work, let it be this one. If you’re a fan of mafia romance with a twist, I cannot recommend this series enough.

Oh my goodness, this book absolutely shattered my heart into pieces, especially during the final 30% where every single revelation and plot twist felt like an emotional punch to the gut... and somehow I found myself completely loving every second of that delicious pain.

This sequel managed to surpass the already incredible first book in every way possible, leaving me desperately eager to continue with the series. The theory I had been harboring since book one was finally confirmed in this installment, and I'm practically buzzing with anticipation to see how this particular story thread will develop and impact everything moving forward.

While I've grown deeply attached to every character in this intricate web of relationships, Gio has completely stolen my heart with his complexity and depth. That infamous whipping scene - even though I had caught glimpses of it circulating on TikTok - hit so much harder when experienced within the full context of the story. Reading through the entire scene and its emotional aftermath left me absolutely devastated in the best possible way.

And that ending... I'm still struggling to process the sheer magnitude of emotions it evoked - the raw, visceral pain, the soul-crushing heartbreak, and the layers upon layers of betrayals that I never saw coming. Days later, my heart still aches just thinking about those final chapters. The next book cannot come soon enough - I'm completely invested in seeing how these characters will recover from everything that's happened!

Fuck what a cliffhanger.

I was not expecting that, I cannot express enough my hate towards Matteo and the plot twist, wow, it made my jaw drop.

This type of ending is the one you cannot even concentrate enough to write a coherent review.

This right now is the moment I truly regret starting an unfinished series.

Normally I hate pregnancy trope in any presentation but I love this characters enough to let it slide. I guess I saw it coming since book one and all the references but still it was a shock how truly Caterina is now fucked with that kind of leverage against her.

Talking about the plot I think is good, with enough politics, scheming and twist to keep me hooked. Their mafia world is changing and we’ll have to see how all of them adapt.

There has been revelations, deaths, bargains and betrayals and Im beyond hooked.

I love all of the MMC’s, each has their own personalities and dynamics with Cat, I think this harem is balanced and has really started to look as a family. I’m curious to see how the last heir will be added with him being a little absent during this books.

With the last chapters I was really at the edge of my seat and because I get so immersed in the books I read I’m honest to God physically worried sick over Luc and Alessia.

Evelyn Flood damn you for your ability to bring this angst to my life.

✨ The Review:

A Mayhem of Crows is the second book in the Mafia University series by Evelyn Flood. This dark why choose romance is full of hot mafia men, a badass FMC and so much more!

“And I always knew,” he murmurs. “That you would belong to me, too. Even if I do have to share.”

I genuinely don't know why I haven't already read this series because honestly I am in love! I love all of the characters so much. The flirty Luc, the protective Dante and Dom and even Gio!! Each character is different yet they all fit together perfectly.

“And I want all of you, Cat. Every fucking part, tentazione. Even if I have to share you to get it.”

I really did not expect so much to happen in this book and when I say I was shocked at how this turned out. I was sucked into this world and story and I am here for all of it! The action, the secrets, the tension and the spice 🔥 but the ending of this book had me in a chokehold and I had to jump straight into book three!

I have a lot of thoughts and emotions when it comes to this series... first BISHWHATTHEFECK. You know what you did.

all I have to say is DRIVE.

This final line damn near caused my jaw to unhinge itself from my body because there was no way that I could have kept my mouth shut. Honestly, that ending was something else. It hit me in the feels and beyond.

It goes without saying that Caterina Corvo is an absolute 10/10 and the men who rally around her are *chefs kiss*

There are so many things that I can say about her but I don't want to spoil anything so I will just say that when I grow up, be here. She is an absolute powerhouse, one of my all time favorite FMCs that I have had the pleasure of reading.

I am going to try and piece myself back together but I want to thank you for giving me the chance to read this book early - it was amazing and if I could give infinity stars, I would.

4.5 ⭐️ Omg this book was amazing! I absolutely love Caterina and the guys❤️ I’m so glad we found out what Caterina actually did with Rosa and that she told Gio! So happy that Gio has now joined them! I love all of Caterina’s men and how much they stand by her! I absolutely hate Matteo!! When he whipped Caterina in place of Gio, I really hope he gets what’s coming to him in book three! The reveal of Caterinas and Dante’s baby 😭😭 and the fact that even after giving herself up Matteo still has her, I’m hope Dante and the rest of them get the baby back asap and the Caterina! Caterina asking Luc if he will wait for her had me sobbing and then that cliffhanger of Luc😭😭😭 I hope with who Caterina has been “promised” too we get to see more of Stefano!! Also can’t believe what happened to Bea and Pepe!! So excited to read the next book!!

Mayhem and murder..

The 2nd book in the series opens up with Cat and Gio abducted and locked in a dungeon and the way Cat escapes from that hell hole proves just how cunning our little Crow is.
This book focuses more on the emotional aspect and the actual build up of the harem.
Book 2 heavily builds the changing dynamics between Gio and Cat. The scene where she receives 12 lashes in place of Gio is heart wrenching but at the same time it kind of stumps me as to how and why Cat feels so strongly for Gio?
There is hardly any mention of Stephano in this book but I am thinking he will play a major role in the next book for sure.
Last but not the least....that reveal towards the end....opens up more questions than provide answers....
This series is shaping up into a great one and hopefully the next installment will be equally crackling and gripping!!

Holy Cliff Hanger

Holy cow, I really don’t have words right now. I just finished this and the ending literally has my jaw on the floor, thank god the next book is already out or I’d be so pissed about the cliff hanger!

This one was so good, a literary work or art? Well, no. But so entertaining! I’m super attached to all the main characters, there was so much action and drama as well as twists and turns I wasn’t expecting. Not to mention lots of spice, some of which I still can’t figure out the logistics of 😅 I cannot wait to dive into the next book, which I’m sure is going to be just as wild of a ride!

Remember this is the second book in a completed four book series, so be sure to read book one before you dive in to this one. Also check trigger warnings because there’s plenty.

Um, hello, 911??? I've been assaulted by a cliffhanger!

I thought book one was phenomenal, but book two takes the cake. The slow unsure build of the found family we had in book one really shines in this one. Loyalties change, alliances form. Cat has even lowered her walls just enough to let in those who had suddenly become important to her and while it's obvious that Cat is tough as nails, she really proves just how much strength she has.

There were so many twists in this one too. Tricky little mafia heirs. And when those freakin' dots started connecting about 60% in, I literally snapped up out of bed and yelled "OH MY GOD!", scared the snot out of my husband lmao.

Grateful to be an arc reader for this series and I cannot wait for book three!!

I got into this series absolutely by accident. I don't even like college romance.

But then Evelyn had to put the mafia twist in it. I had no chance but to try it. And the crows got to me.

This second book is even more crazy than the first. The twists and turns it takes makes you dizzy and keep you hooked.

Our little family gets together and is torn apart again.

I love how this has no 3rd act break-up. I've seen this even in a series before, so the fact that this has drama upon drama without the misscommunication and break-up keeps this as one of my favorite books of May.

Can't wait for book 3 because that cliffhanger was from hell.... but all around we have

🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 stars for the story and twists

5/5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This series. I have no words for. I am addicted. Obsessed. I should have known with the first one that the end of book two would wreck me. And it did. The writing is amazing, the plot and spice is great. I absolutely love Cat and how strong she is even when she doesn’t want to be. But is comfortable letting her walls down when she has too. I had a feeling about something in book one & yelled when I was right about it in book two. I don’t think the next book is going to be released fast enough. I dont know how I’m going to wait. So so good!

What a cliff hanger!!!

The book follows on from the 1st and gets straight into the twists and turns of Cat and her men’s lives building on the characters really well. Plenty of Spice (bedroom RH scene! 🌶️🥵), bloodshed, redemption and backstabbing.
The story unravels throughout (no spoilers) and has a steady pace that kept me engaged right up until the cliff hanger! Also characters that you can really hate!
I really enjoyed the breadcrumb clues scattered in the story as we pieced things together with the characters. However the author still had some surprises and can’t wait to find out where they lead in book 3!

A Mayhem of Crows is the second book in the Mafia University series, and I have to say that I liked this one more than the first one.

The planning and scheming in this one is what made it impossible to put down for me. The chapters are action packed and when you think you will be able to predict the plot everything gets twisted up, and you are left staring at it with an open mouth. Evelyn Flood really did an amazing job with this one. The ending left me with teary eyes and so much anger towards a certain character.

Overall, yes, you should go read this one if you enjoy why choose and mafia romances. I promise you that it is worth it, but please read TWs before going into it.

My goodness how much are these characters going to go through 😭😭 Sooo much dark and twisted drama happening. And yet another cliffhanger. I knew this would happen. I enjoyed the buildup of her relationship with her men. I don’t know if she’s meant to have Stefano in her harem but I feeling we will get more of him in the next book. I’m a little sad we’ve only had a couple pages throughout the whole series with him. I do wish that Cat made Gio actually grovel and beg. For such a strong, smart, and badass character she forgave him with zero apology from him.

ARC Review

What a sequel! And that cliffhanger! OMG. So, this book picks up right where the 1st book ends, and I went through a rollercoaster of emotions reading this book. I absolutely loved Caterina and her men. The relationship dynamics between her and each of her guys - Dom, Dante, Luc, and even Gio - was great to read. Each one of them had their own unique relationship with her. The heat in this one also kicked up a notch from the last book, and it was SUPER SPICY! The reveal of where she was when she was away for a few months had my jaw dropping! And the end made me want to scream - I couldn't believe what happened! I can't wait for the 3rd book to see what happens next!
