Meeting fellow travellers, new experiences and checking off bucket list items she enjoys the carefree holiday.
This type of travel is not only an eye opener but is an opportunity to become more worldly and see new perspectives.
With such a vibrant cover I was already eager to devour this.
Loved the journey, adored Ava and I enjoyed the comedic thread.
Written in a style that is youthful, playful and entertaining.
The comment about a budget Chris Hemsworth had me cackling and set the comedy theme for me.
This was reminiscent, real and frivolous.

I haven't laughed that hard reading a book in a very long time. Bloody hilarious! Not my typical genre but I couldn't put it down. The perfect mix of humour and heart. Def recommend.

Fantastic!! I loved this book from start to finish and then I didn’t want let go of Ava Roberts adventures - I eagerly await another book from this fabulous new author I have discovered. Travel ,adventures, load’s of laughs and frivolity and on another level refreshingly insightful at the same time. Love, love loved the Utterly Sublime Adventures of Ava Roberts. Look out for this book.

After Ava Roberts has her heart shattered at her own engagement party (WTF! OMG!) she embarks on a whirlwind global tour to try and mend it. What follows is an epic adventure filled with far-flung destinations, sexy escapades, and fabulous new friends (big shout out to Nandi the cow!)
There is much to love in this book. It contains so much energy and enthusiasm that it’s impossible not to be swept up in it. The writing is sharp, pacey and packed with one-liners that had me snort-laughing to the end. There's lots of zest, but a bit of sweetness too. In short, this book is like a beach-side cocktail for the mind!

The Utterly Sublime Adventures Of Ava Roberts is the debut novel from Lisa Frederickson and it is indeed utterly sublime. With a writing style that is fresh and fun and a cast of quirky characters I did not want the book to end.
When Ava Roberts discovers her fiancée, Scarlet, cheating on her with a co-worker, she is understandably devastated. With the encouragement of her best friend Jen and her boss, Lucrezia (aka Cruella), she sets out on a round the world adventure to help her get over the heartbreak. Using her experiences as fodder for a travel blog titled “Around the World In 80 Gays”, Ava is drawn into a tornado of excitement and chaos.
Ava’s madcap globe trotting adventures are so much fun to read about. From India to South Africa with a few stops in between she meets such a fabulous cast of quirky characters and discovers a lot about herself along the way. I could not get enough of the wonderfully wise women that give Ava advice including Indira and Aunty B.
I also loved how uplifting and humorous this story was. There were so many moments when I was laughing out loud at Ava’s mishaps and unique turn of phrase. If you loved the travel and self discovery of Eat, Pray, Love and the sex positivity of It’s Been A Pleasure Noni Blake, then you will adore this heartwarming story.

Lisa captures Ava’s unique character with such precision, she was brought to life and almost jumps from the pages at times. An uplifting and heartwarming read, Ava will keep you invested in her story and have you cheering her on from the sidelines with gusto.

Without a doubt the funniest book I’ve read in….well quite possibly forever! I can’t tell you how many times I laughed full on proper belly laughs.
Think a modern day Eat Prey Love crossed with Bridget Jones as Ava embarks on a journey of self discovery.
I can’t thank @freddie_productions enough for gifting me a copy of this book. As soon as I saw that cover which just screams fun, I knew this would be a hilarious ride and it definitely didn’t disappoint - in fact it was so much better than expected.

What a Masterpiece! Such a phenomenal book, it made me laugh and cry, all at the same time. Extremely invested in the story and more-so the characters. Not a dull moment in this book, was highly engaging the whole way through. There were so many moments whilst reading this book that would make me reflect, and think about my own life. I absolutely loved and adored this book - definitely worth the read. Hurry up and bring out the sequel, I need it please!

Wow, what an utterly sublime adventure that truly was! Every scene as well as each character is brought to life. I could envision myself at each of Ava’s amazing travel destinations so vividly.. so much so I think I’ve caught another case of the travel bug! Witty, exciting, funny, relatable, and full of words of wisdom that’s beautifully written. What an absolute joy to read! I need a movie adaptation please!

This charming read is a delight from the get-go, instantly loved the main character Ava and could imagine being mates with her. It made me want to go travelling again, the way the places were described I could picture being right there! Also absolutely loved all the other characters - the good and the bad ones! The one liners were what made it for me - cant wait for the sequel - or the movie adaptation - it would be Bridget Jones for Lesbians!

THE UTTERLY SUBLIME ADVENTURES OF AVA ROBERTS by Lisa Frederickson is a book as attractive as its cover. The reading flows naturally and the most than four hundred pages don't feel heavy while reading. I like the author's writing style because of this. It's a must read and funny book I recommend.

I have to say, this book is pure joy bundled up in 355 absolutely sublime pages, and what a wonderful book to end 2023 with 🥰✨
Ava Richards is living the dream, living in London, she has a great job, and her girlfriend Scarlett has just proposed in the most romantic way!
Just as Ava can’t think things can get any better they go crashing or should I say tumbling down… as she walks in on Scarlett making out with her work colleague on their washing machine.. at their engagement party - WTF?!
Ava decides to get out of town, and embarks on an 80 day tour of various countries in the hope of clearing and cleansing all traces of Scarlett from her life.
Taking in the sights and local hotspots of Indian, Bangkok & Australia, Ava goes on a journey only some can dream of, not only of these wonderful countries but also a journey of self discovery ♥️
Ava Roberts is so well written with the perfect amount of sass, friendship, humour, quick witt, heartbreak, hope & joy
The one liners had me in stitches every time!
And there is a beautiful heart to the story about finding yourself without realising you are doing it 🙌

I can't believe this is her only book. This book knocked my socks off it was so hilarious, there are not enough words to describe how fantastic this story is. This one was like a breath of fresh air and the imagination of this author shouldn't be wasted on just one book. If you are writing under another name please let us know. Everywhere the main character (Ava Roberts) went there was yet another hilarious adventure. There was one sad part to the story but I won't ruin it for others.

I loved reading this book, the tone of the author was great and I was really interested the whole time in what was going on. Every single character was interesting, every single page had something to keep me reading and yet I never felt overloaded with useless information. I'd recommend this book to any readers over 13

This was such an amazing book filled with colourful and delightful characters. All the characters had so much heart, soul and that sharp wit that had me in stitches! Ava was such a lovely and relatable character and she makes you want to jump on plane for some utterly sublime adventures. I can't wait for the next book :)

What a fun read! Was recommended by a friend and it was the laugh I needed. The writing style is really bouncy and draws you in from the start. I loved the characters so much- so relatable. Rare a book makes you laugh out loud

An easy read, which kept me interested to the end. Completely engaged with Ava and loved being part of her self discovery / reset on life, love and everything else. The author's sharp wit was evident throughout the book which I thoroughly enjoyed. Will share my hardcopy with all my friends.
