Just Love #3

Just Admit It

Rate this book
Hale knows Emily could break his heart, but he fell for her anyway.

Emily Tollard is an up-and-coming painter who is living life to the fullest. She likes her freedom, doing what she wants, when she wants. Emily doesn’t do relationships or feelings. Letting someone in gives them the power to hurt you, something Emily wants to avoid ever experiencing again. Casual flings and one-night stands are all she needs.

Hale Woods loves love. He’s waiting for that big, all-consuming love he knows is out there for him. When his best friend’s sister comes back to town, he can’t stop thinking about her. Even though he knows he shouldn’t. Even though he knows she’ll break his heart.

When the feelings won’t go away, Emily and Hale give in. For one night, Emily allows herself to feel something real. But the feelings are too strong, making her too vulnerable, so she runs.

Hale is left in pieces, trying to put together his shattered heart. Emily stays away, trying to pretend her world didn’t completely shift after one night. Emily thought she would feel better after getting her attraction out of her system, but why can’t she stop thinking about him? Why does everything look grey now, even her once vibrant paintings?

Maybe feelings aren’t the worst thing that could happen to Emily, maybe life without Hale would be worse. Can Emily just admit she loves him and give Hale a real chance?

Just Admit It is a spicy, brother’s best friend romance, with a golden retriever hero, and a heroine who doesn’t do feelings. It is filled with super close families, characters that always have each others’ backs, and the discovery that finding the one means you can drop all your masks and finally be yourself.

This book grabbed ahold of me from the very first page. Of course, having read the 2 before this and absolutely loving them, this comes as no surprise to me!

Books 1 and 2 made me fall in love with the Tollard family. They are what a family should be! This book I fell in love with the extended family characters. There is one special one that will always be a favorite for me and I'm sure for you!

Finally, without giving away too much, Just Admit It had me literally laughing out loud at times, excited for the passion and spiciness to crying happy tears. I did not want to put this extraordinary book down. My 5 star rating comes from all of the emotions. This story lets me feel through beautiful characters and a wonderful storyline.

What are you waiting for? Go read all 3!!

SUMMARY:
Emily is in crisis, on the edge of burn-out, and feels like something’s missing in her life. Hale is her brother’s best friend and business partner. They both have crushes on each other, but Emily doesn’t do relationships and Hale doesn’t do “hooking-up.” When Emily takes a break from her life by staying with her twin sister back in her hometown at the same time Hale is doing some renovations to her sister’s house, their interactions help them realize they could be more for each other than either expects. But will Emily’s past traumas and Hales' expectations allow them to discover what they could mean to each other, or will it all fail before it even has a chance to get started?

Just Admit It by Becky Tzag is a romantic comedy, the third novel in her Just Love series. It features Hale and Emily as the main characters. Both appeared as supporting characters in the second of the series, Just for the Summer.

REVIEW:
I am a big fan of Becky’s work. I adored Just Friends with a Prince and Just for the Summer; reading both quickly and multiple times. When she gave me the opportunity to read her third novel ahead of time, I jumped at the opportunity. Having consumed all of her published work over a short period of time, I have had the opportunity to see her grow stronger as a storyteller and I think Just Admit It is her best work yet.

Just Admit It is a physical slow burn, yes, but emotionally it’s even more so. The internal and external emotional tension between Hale and Emily and within themselves smolders in the extreme. It’s angsty and delightful and I loved every word. And the release, when it finally happens, is worth every minute of anticipation.

Main characters from the previous two books, Cameron and Anna mostly, but also Harper and Tate to a lesser extent, make appearances and drive the story forward - and it’s great to reconnect with all of them - but the duo of Emily and Hale don't need the support as they’re strong characters already. The previous main characters only enhance the story. Other previously established side characters also make a strong showing and the two “preview” Easter eggs that I found were also really cool.

I will never stop recommending that fans of the genre and fans of indie literature give the Just Love series a shot and Just Admit It is the best of the trio. Highly recommended.

CONCLUSION:
Overall - ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ (5/5)
Spice - 🌶️🌶️🌶️ (3/5)

4.25⭐️ Emily doesn’t want to settle down. She’s just back home to recharge after a successful show. Hale is a forever kind of guy, but he can’t help but fall for the girl he can’t have who won’t love him back.

Wow, I love Hale! He was so open and the absolute sweetest. I don’t know how Emily didn’t throw away all her rules on day 1! Emily is struggling with both her feelings and growing up and wanting more and new things from life. Hale feels like coming home and boy was he! Their interactions made me smile so much. The banter, the spice, it was all perfect. You could tell these two cared for each other so deeply right away. I can definitely admit I loved this book!

Every book of Becky’s I read is my new favourite. I fell in love with Hale in the last book, and was so excited to see him get his happy ending. He was down bad for Emily from the start, and while she had strong feelings for him too, she was scared to let him in and feeling unsettled in her life. She pushed him away repeatedly, but he kept showing up for her, supporting her while she worked to find her way. I didn’t think I could love him more, but I do. I really, really do!

As with the rest of the series, the family/friendships/found family relationships in this book were heartwarming, the spice was hot, and the banter was humorous. Loved it!
