I rule the Ruthless Kings’ Houston Chapter. When problems arise, I crush them.
My life has left me unprepared for Bella though. She’s my daughter’s best friend, and a beacon of innocence amid the shadows. She’s the corrupt sheriff’s daughter. But who is she to me?
She’s the girl I’m irresistibly drawn to.
Her light dazzles against the harsh world of shadows I command. But her father’s cruelty kindles a protective fire in me. Who I am and how I feel about her roils inside me like two oceans crashing together.
And in the maelstrom deadly trouble brews. The Las Rosas Negras cartel, a menace I thought eradicated, returns. And Bella’s father is now their ally.
In the past, this would have just been a brutal turf war. Now it’s more. It’s a personal crusade to protect Bella from their tyranny, and shield her fragile light. This city is mine, but what’s a city compared to the woman I’ve needed all along?
If I have to, I’ll topple it into rubble and ruin to save her.
Author's This book deals with some dark topics, including physical and mental abuse. The hero, Beast, is a possessive antihero. More specific info can be found in the content warning inside.
I wasn't able to get to the ARC that was offered because of a lot of surgeries, but I will still sing her praises after I finished it. This Author in general is Awesome. She hits on everything u could want to read including, hot romance, tragedy, mystery action etc. I have read all her books some twice and none have let me down. All of her stories including Ruthless kings and so many more MC series r worth picking up to read. U won't b disappointed.
A great start to a new series. Beast is a perfect anti- hero Belle/Bella was so scared and brainwashed by her father. And goodness what else could happen to her
By only issues keeping it from 5 stars were some typos and at the beginning it’s said that Tongue was the VP of the LV club. But unless something changed it’s Tool
I don’t really like the 17 million point of views but I am hoping it’s only because it’s being set up for a series to introduce the characters
I loved this book and cannot wait to read more of this series. To say that Beast and Belle had me buried in feels is pretty much an understatement and I fell super-fast and hard for this couple. Emotions, drama, slow-burning heat, danger, sweetness, heartstring tugging and steam fuel this seductive romance that left me swooning.
I loved the cover and the blurb. Then we meet Beast, a tough MC Prez, his sassy daughter Harley, his supporting MC Brothers and innocent Bella and I knew this was going to be a long emotional ride.
I wanted to love this one but all the different POVs and limited page time between the romantic couple in this one slowed things down way too much. It ended up reading more like a rough draft script for a TV show or movie. Some POVs did add some intrigue and suspense but others felt like filler and I just wanted to skip to get back to Beast and Bella's story :(
I liked Beast and how he fell first for his innocent Beauty and Bella was my type of heroine but holy cow does she have to survive hell over and over again that I got sick of reading through every harsh beating she went through. I wanted the girl to catch a damn break and I wanted Beast to storm in and play the knight to the rescue but it never quiet made the mark. It felt like the baddies won more often than not and the good guys got crushed under their boots.
Not only is Bella hiding from her abusive father but Beast is in the middle of a war with an enemy cartel and there is so much description violence and murder. Some seemed so senseless and didn't really add to the story since it was OTT and repetitive. Some plotlines are also left open ended but maybe will be resolved in the next book?
I know real life is usually unfair like that but I prefer my MCs to always come out on top. Too much of a bad thing gets depressing and bums me out.
The romance between Beast and Bella was sweet but really short. They meet, feel an instant attraction, spend minimal time together, then they spend one night together, are torn apart by her evil father, separated for a month, then she's traded with little drama. The fact that Bella is bleeding, unconscious or in extreme pain 95% of the time is a downer. I wanted more happy times, more romance and more feel good moments but everything is overlapped with the ugly and the evil instead.
Overall a good read if a little too dark and gritty. I really liked Harley, Thor, Sin, Malo sounds interesting :) hope they get their own stories.
* * * I voluntarily read and reviewed a copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own. * * *
I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily. This is my own opinion and was not influenced by anyone.
The latest Ruthless Kings chapter is in Houston. Beast is the President and his men are coming up missing. Bella Grimes is 19. She has an abusive father, not to mention he is the sheriff on the warpath with the Kings. He has joined forces with a cartel who has a history with the Kings.
This chapter of the Kings is filled with violence, abuse and death. Take the trigger warnings seriously. Bella is abused worse than any of the men. This chapter is huge however don't get attached until you find out who survives.
Beast's daughter, Harley is full of fire like her father. She has been a friend of Bella since childhood. She knows her friend is abused and she wants to protect her. If she tells her Pops, Harley worries her dad will kill Bella's dad. Taking out a sheriff will mean big trouble for the MC. When Beast charges out to find Harley and find her with an injured Bella, his entire world flips upside down. Bella feels it too.
I love seeing how Bella turns Beast into a big old teddy bear. Her world was so sheltered and warped and he wants to give her everything. She in turn provides him a safe place for his heart. It is a sweet love story at the core.
I love getting to know this new chapter. In addition to the men, we have some daughters of the men who are in college. They will provide an interesting twist to this chapter. I cannot wait to learn more about the other men in the chapter. More please.
Beast-Ruthless Kings MC Houston, Tx chapter; Is book one and the introduction into the chapter and the on-goings of their businesses and turf wars that are brewing. We meet the club members, along with the Prez daughter and the best friend Prez’s daughter has been hiding since 6th grade. This best friend has also been hiding her relationship with the Prez’s daughter from her own father, the sheriff. Ruthless Kings are currently dealing with missing MC men and have a feeling the cartel they kicked out a decade ago has decided to come back and claim Houston. Harley(19), Beast’s daughter, college student, is trying to figure out how to help her best friend for a dangerous situation that is her living conditions. Beast(43) is a man that is not to be messed with, he protects what it his and anyone that decides to disturb that protection will pay. The real question is, Is Beast ready to pick out of his club and family who lives and dies for this one mission? Book has scenes of war between the MC and Cartel and the Law. Scenes of kidnapping, domestic violence, child abuse, torture, manipulation, weapons from anything to harm a family member. Is an age gap romance. This book may have some very dark moments of the underbelly and even the grey side of the world, but there is a sliver lining and a HEA in the book. Seriously a very action packed book and drags you into the world of the RUTHLESS KINGS OF HOUSTON, can’t wait for the rest of the series.
I read this about a week ago while I was on vacation. The main thing I remember is that EVERYONE (and I mean everyone) and a chapter in their pov in this book. It was so incredibly unnecessary. It took me out of the story because at times it was a person we met in that one chapter, and then they were no longer mentioned again. All of the POV's brought absolutely nothing towards the plot. I actually started skipping every chapter that wasn't in the H or h's POV, and nothing was missed. No confusion, no plot holes, nothing was missing. All that was missed was a bunch of boring chapters that brought nothing to the plot or character development. This could have been a solid 3 stars (the plot and and such were average, and a fun escape) but all of the POV's were incredibly annoying. I'm afraid of her books do this, and so I doubt I'll read anymore of her books--which is a shame, because I actually didn't mind the book otherwise. The h goes through very severe physical, mental, and emotional abuse by her father. The love story between the h and H is very close to insta love--for sure insta-lust, but it was fairly realistic. The reaction of the H's daughter finding out about the romance and her reaction was VERY realistic, and I appreciated that realism. But again...all of the POV's were unnecessary, boring, and actually started to piss me off.
I really liked the grittyness of this one. It was very dark and quite raw. If you have triggers please proceed with caution. There are graphic (violent) scenes involving Bella, the main female character.
I'm not a huge fan of Dad getting with the daughters BFF and large age gaps but that is just a personal preference. I think it was handled well and I loved that Harley pointed out the possible problems with the relationship. I wish the girls had been a little bit older. 19 was a little to close to it being creepy. I also think Bella needed some time to live on her own and find her own way a little. She was so sheltered and needed to spread her own wings.
I loved the change that Beast showed when he caught feelings. He was so protective yet caring with Bella. He really stepped up when it counted.
I really enjoyed getting all the different points of view, especially the villain. That was unique and added an extra layer to the story. It was an exciting and emotional story. There was lots of action and fighting all throughout the story. It had a quick pace and I flew through it. I liked getting to meet new club members and getting a glimpse of a character from past Ruthless Kings books. This was a thrilling story with lots of action and suspense. I would recommend it for those who love gritty MC romances!
The first book in a new series, but derived from another series about MC Ruthless Kings. It's a standalone, with the occasional reference to a past, a happy ending for the primary characters, but a somewhat open ending for secondary characters, which will likely be subsequent books in the series. My first read by this author. The writing style is catching and occasionally humoristic. The pace of the story is a bit slow. It is written from different perspectives, so you can empathize with different characters. The love between the two main characters Beast and Bella, and the developments of their relationship, is well written. I thought the story was a bit harsh, lots of violence and victims. The descriptions aren't necessarily graphic or extensive, but you do read about an MC in trouble with a sheriff and a cartel, domestic violence and farfetching consequences. When Beast meets his daughter’s best friend Bella, his protective instincts arise. Helping her however is not without danger, since her father is a corrupt sheriff, ready to take on the MC. As Beast faces both the sheriff and an aggressive cartel, he also battles his feelings for the younger Bella. A romance between these two is not welcomed by everyone.

"I’d trust every man in here with my life, but it’s more than that. I chose them all for their brains as much as their brawn or their loyalty."
“I don’t care about that. I don’t think I could let you go if I wanted to.”
“I’ve never felt with anyone like I have with you.”
𝐒𝐲𝐧𝐨𝐩𝐬𝐢𝐬:
Beast is a one and done man. Once your on his bad side that's where you stay. Belle is sweet and innocent. She tried to obey to the rules her father laid out but when someone steps in, they all fail.
𝐓𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐠𝐡𝐭𝐬:
This was a super cool story with multiple pov's. It was cool getting everyone's thoughts. And then, this big bad beast of a man completely MELTS for his woman. I melted right along with him. He wasn't letting anyone come in the way of them. Even though this was slightly a slow burn. It was perfect. It was action, spice and romance all packed in one perfect book. It ended perfectly and I loved the charcuterie board scene 😂 Poor Beast didn't know what in the world he was doing.

Beast is the Pres of the Ruthless Kings MC, Houston Chapter. They are currently dealing their guys disappearing, so he has put everyone on lockdown including his daughter, Hailey. When she slips her guard, he tracks her to the library, where he meets her best friend, Belle who has been beaten by someone. He is ready to take the individual out. He gives her a card to call him if ever she needs help.
Belle has been abused by her father, the sheriff, since she was eight years old, it seems like one of these days he is going to kill her. When comes home, he is already there and knows that Beast visited her at the library, he thinks she betrayed him. The beating is really bad this time, when her father passes out she calls Beast for help.
There is something about he that has him wanting to protect her, he stays by her side while she recovers. Beast is just what Belle needs to bring her out of the shell her father has forced her into.
I loved this book, Beast became a teddy bear for Belle and ready to scorch the earth to protect her. There is a danger that the MC needs to unravel before they all are taken out. Cannot wait for the more from the Chapter.

Finally, a book that is a bit darker than the last ones and more like the beginning of the Ruthless Kings books. Also, characters from the first books are mentioned, now if only they would show up from time to time. This book is much darker and more violent than the most recent books from this author so heed the trigger warnings. I personally like my books a bit darker so I loved this book and can't wait for more of the same. This book begins a new chapter of Ruthless Kings in Houston, and I can't wait for more in this series. While I enjoyed the paranormal element in the NOLA chapter series, I enjoyed Beast more than any of those. Beast is a flawed character and makes his share of mistakes which cost him, and the rest of the Ruthless Kings, more than they imagined. Beast and Bella get their HEA but not without a lot of sacrifice. I'm trying so hard not to give any spoilers so that limits my ability to say more. Suffice it to say, this is a must-read for anyone who likes MC books that are darker, with more violence and suspense. I hope future books in this series contain more of Alex, Harley, Sin, & Rebel's stories.

MMC/FMC- Beast and Belle POV- 1st person dual Genre- MC Romance Heat- 🌋🌋☄️ (1🌋=2☄️). More plot than hot. Series? Y Safety- Although there is a HEA, this book is not safe. No cheating, but implied, off-page S.A. of a secondary character. Other triggers include: Domestic Abuse (physical and emotional), Language in Two Languages, Gaslighting, Explicit Erotic Content, Graphic Violence. Call Roy Rogers ‘cause we’ve got triggers up in here. Tropes- Best Friend’s Father, Age Gap, Off Limits, Damsel in Distress, A Sorta Fairytale (Beauty and The Beast), Dirty Cop, Virgin Heroine. What I liked- I was pulled into the emotions of the story. The heroine is pretty heavily abused and gaslit by a family member, and it made me feel anger and empathy. A good book makes you feel. My favorite character is Thor. He gets a bad hand of cards here, and he keeps going. I’d love to see him get a romance and a HEA of his own. I liked that, although the names are directly from the fairy tale, the story is not a literal retelling of Beauty and The Beast. I also like that every time I type the word fairy, this little emoji pops up and there’s an option to make her a redhead like me🧚♀️ .

Wow K.L hooks you in right from the start and keeps turning the pages until the very end. Beast's daughter Harley her best friend Bella works in the library. Harley spots Bella is still getting physically attacked by her father Eric whom is the town's sheriff. Beast comes looking for Harley who is not supposed to be out of the compound and notices Bella's bruises and gives her his vard to ring him should she ever need help. Bella needs their help sooner than she realises. The Las Rosas Negras Cartel are trying to worm their way back in to the Ruthless Kings turf again. This time they have the sheriff Eric Grimes in their pocket so they are a big threat to the Kings MC. When Grimes finds out where his daughter is war breaks out between the Kings and the Cartel. I received an arc from Booksprout for my voluntary honest review for NNBB. If you love a fast paced MC age gap romance with plenty of action and two kickass female characters you will enjoy this book. This book may not be for everyone as there may be triggers for some people therefore heed the authors warnings.
Where do I even start to talk about this book? It is so amazing. I loved everything about this book. Admittedly it took me a couple of chapters to really get into it but after that I couldnt put it down.
This book tells the story of a romance set within a motercycle gang. It is messy at times but ultimately beautiful.
Everything in this book is so well written I felt like I was part of the story. I was rooting for their success, crying at their losses, and I didn't ever want the story to end. I love the switching of perspectives throught the book.
I can definitely reccomend this book it is amazing. Definitely a lot of sensitive topics covered throughout the story so I would reccomend checking that out before reading.

A raw, gritty, action-packed start to a new chapter in the Ruthless Kings MC.
This story had multiple POV's which really brought the whole story together and made me feel as if I was in the thick of the story myself. I love the characters and strength the MFC showed. We get the history behind the trouble in town and the start of this chapter, even though it was years prior.
There is a lot tragedy in this story, and the MMC and MFC unknowingly bring more tragedy on the club, but the strength of the Ruthless Kings MC will prevail. I just hope that they don't have much more to come.
I loved this story just as much as I've loved the rest of the Ruthless Kings MC books by K. L. Savage. This one might be the darkest yet, even with Tongue's books. I can't wait to read more of the Houston Chapter books to come.
Beast is the first book in the Ruthless Kings Houston series. This is a mix for me as some parts I really loved and others I just wanted to skip. The story about Bella and Beast has a lot going on, and lot of it is not about what is happening between the couple. It is a darker MC romance with abuse, MC and Cartel war, violence, murder, and you get the idea. I didn't feel connected to the couple very much and that is what I found myself wanting more of, not all the other crud that was going on. Plus I wanted to kick Beast to go find Bella and rescue her from her father and his plans for her. I cannot say that I really liked this first story but as I have read a number of books by the author I will try the next book to see what happens next with this MC series.
Be warned some of the content in this book is pretty dark and could upset some people.
Bella (FMC) life is filled with a lot of abusive at the hands of her two faced Sheriff father. One who portrays a nice, friendly guy to the whole town but behind closed doors he uses all forms of manipulation including violence to keep Bella in so called line. Cut off from near enough everyone her only friend being Harley whose MC Pres father - Beast is having his own problems. Which get complicated more when her helps Bella out after a brutal episode at the hands of her father.
I loved the relationship Bella and Beast had together. Yes there was an age difference but to me I didn't focus on that in this book. Bella seemed to thrive in the MC and came out of her shell more with Beast & Harley. This was a great start to a new chapter in the Ruthless Kings family.
Checklist: ———•———•——— ☑️ Age gap 🙏 ☑️ MC & gangs 🏍️ ☑️ TW ‼️ abuse and gore ☑️ MF ☑️ 50/50 with plot/romance ☑️ switching POV (all characters) ☑️ HEA kinda
The plot was overall pretty good. I know getting into MC styled books theres usually some descriptive gore 🔪 but it was a bit much for me 😅 I wish it focused a bit more on romance ❤️ but to no fault of the author. The points that do have more romance were amazing and made me feel all bubbly inside.
Possible spoilers?‼️ ———•———•——— Bella and Beast are a cute 🥰 couple and I love their chemistry! The end did come up a bit fast and the issue with Harley was resolved in literally a sentence so I am not sure how to feel about that. 🫣Also I am not sure if there is another book that covers her issues from this one but I hope so soon at least because it’s really sad what happened!😥
This one is more extreme in the violence department than some of her other books so be aware. Bella is a young woman who has been abused mentally and physically by her father who is a dirty cop (sheriff). The day she meets her best friend's father is the day hers goes off the deep end and comes the closest to killing her as he ever has, prompting her to run. Beast is instantly attracted to her and comes to her rescue. He is considerably older than she is. The relationship between them grows slowly.
All the while, the MC is dealing with an enemy from the past, one that Bella's dad is mixed up with. Lots of action taking place and lots of violence.

Beast is the first book in the Ruthless Kings Houston book. It tells the story of Beast (John), the president of the MC, and Bella/Belle, his daughter's BF. This book introduces us to the new characters in the Houston chapter but we also catch glimpses of Reaper (Vegas chapter). Beast returned to the darker themes found in K.L. Savage's earlier books. It as a fast-paced, suspense with lots of action, enemies, and drama. The romance between Beast and Bella is slow burn but appropriate considering the story line. Pay attention to the content warning because Beast addresses some dark topics. I think my favorite part of the book was the elements of Beauty and the Beast that run throughout it. A fairy tale in an MC setting is unique.
3.5 stars rounded up I was a little thrown by all the different pov's, but finishing the book I get that it works well for the series' storyline. However, I would have liked to see more of the relationship between the main characters. It seemed their relationship was more of a subplot that everyone and their mother had an opinion on, which was voiced through the multiple pov's. Also, lately it feels like all fmc's are either so innocent and naive they're just shy of stupid or they're psychopathic murderers traumatized by sexual violence or slavery. There is no in between! God do I crave a fmc with 'regular' problems! This was my first book by this author, and there were a couple more that had my interest, but I'm not sure when I'll dive into those.
To be honest, I did not finish this. Made it through the first third of the book and decided I'd had enough. There were strange passages inserted, perhaps as a flashback dropped in the middle of other thoughts and actions, but they weren't in italics so until I was confused, I thought it was part of the ongoing paragraphs. I also found some places where I believe words were left out, not fragments, but just missing. I wanted to like this, but found I didn't. Maybe because I wanted to slap Bell. How does one go through school, hold a job, and not know her father was a complete . . . turd. I couldn't relate to her at all, but if your looking for domestic abuse, this was very detailed. Trigger warning for sure.
This book was a roller coaster ride! I appreciated the fact that we got multiple sides to the story, it’s definitely random shifts from different characters in the book. But I guess I wish I would’ve read more up on how this book was. I wanted more of Bell and beast. I understood the importance of the other characters point of view but I wanted more of them together. This book is definitely a slow burn, there’s only two spicy scenes in the entire novel. There are a lot of really sad scenes in this book too, there’s an essay and lots of death. I haven’t read a savage novel in a while, I feel like her other novels weren’t as gruesome as this. go into it with an opened mind.
Beast is the president of the Houston chapter of the Ruthless Kings and has ruled the chapter for decades. Harley, his grown daughter, is trying to help her BFF, Bella, out of an abusive situation with her father who is the local sheriff. When Beast gets involved, his protective instincts kick-in for this sheltered, naïve girl. Old enemies reappear and threaten the MC and when Bella gets dragged into the middle of it, Beast shows how he got his road name. This is a steamy, age gap romance with lots of action and does revolve around parental abuse.

I didn't know I needed the Houston Ruthless Kings until I read this book. Suspenseful and shocking, this book definitely fits with the rest of the series and spinoff.
I enjoyed the chemistry between Beast and Bella. However, I felt like it was the side characters that stole the show. From Harley to Thor, Sin and Alex... not to mention the evil Sheriff... there was no shortage of characters to empathize or hate. I can't wait to see where K.L. Savage is going to take this spinoff series to. Looking forward to the next book!.

Talk about a pitiful MC. Do they have an endless number of members???? Lost count for how many died but there were always more to take their place. And seriously they were at war and the enemy just trampled all over them. Beast had zero strategy and what Pres would let the enemy just walk away with his old lady??? Seriously!!
Beast acts more like a puppy in love than an MC president.
And Harley…. It seemed like she was on death’s doorstep but then had enough energy to go after Kincade????
And it was never addressed all the info she gave up that led to the compound being attacked.
This just seemed like a club that people could be members of but not a close brootherhood.

This is the first in a new series, and this is Beast and Bella’s story. Beast is the President of his chapter, and Bella is his daughter’s best friend. Bella is on the run from her abusive father, who is also the sheriff. Beast is possessive and is determined to keep Bella safe and protected. This is a well written dark, raw, and gritty story, which is an action packed, emotional roller coaster, with family, friendships, danger, suspense, loyalty, survival, violence, drama, an age gap, and love, which leads to an addictive page turner. Be aware of the trigger warning due to the sensitive topics!! I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Wow what a way to start a new series. Beast is in charge of the Ruthless Kings Houston chapter and does not let down. His daughter Jarleynis friends woth Bella who is being abused by her father the sheriff. One night Bella os almost killed by him when he beats her. She escapes and Beast and Harley rescue her bringing her to the compound. The story follows the romance between Beast and Bella and the Ruthless Kings battle to survive who is hunting them, the sheriff and the cartel that Beast and his team ran out uears ago. What will.happen? You have to pick up thos exciting book to find out.

I'm kind of conflicted on this one. I liked Beast, I liked the secondary characters, and I usually liked Bella. I had trouble feeling any of the relationship between Beast and Bella. I also had issues with the things Bella went through. It just didn't make sense that no one noticed what was happening and I didn't understand her feeling that she deserved it. I did like the MC business parts of the story, this was probably one of the more descriptive books I've read on how they operate. Most books seem to skim over it or make it seem so easy to beat the bad guy. Not sure if I'll continue the series or not.
