Full of historical details about the Sacraments throughput the history of the church. Attempts to write a factual account rather than solely a catholic perspective. As a result it can seem less than spiritual at times, leaving the reader with the facts and not spiritual encouragment. Great for background not for inspiration.

One of the most important books I've read as a convert. Essential reading if you want a deeper understanding of the sacraments of the Church.
