Alexa Ingram is a remarkable and inspirational global citizen, a true champion for climate action, and a dedicated advocate for numerous philanthropic endeavors, with a special focus on aiding those in greatest need.
Her teenage immigration to the United States, driven by her mother's pursuit of political and economic freedom, unlocked a world of opportunities that otherwise would have remained out of reach. These opportunities included access to an excellent education, the chance to forge a successful career in the financial industry, and, perhaps most importantly, the ability to explore the globe.
A few years ago, Alexa embarked on an extraordinary 5-day, 100-kilometer trek within the Arctic Circle in Greenland. This incredible journey transcended the boundaries of adventure; it was her first actionable step in her ongoing commitment to environmental causes, raising essential funds to provide clean water to those most in need. Her passion for travel has taken her to remote corners of the world, allowing her to witness firsthand the profound impacts of climate change on vulnerable communities.
Within her book, Alexa skillfully draws upon her diverse life experiences, compassion, and authentic leadership skills to tackle the climate challenge. She adeptly simplifies complex concepts for her readers while inspiring them to drive meaningful change. Her objective is crystal clear: to raise awareness and inspire individuals worldwide to start making a difference, no matter how small their actions may seem. Her enthusiasm and passion are nothing short of contagious.
Alexa resides in New Jersey with her two children, a 16-year-old daughter and a 22-year-old son, both of whom she fervently imparts her values to.
This book can be handy for people who feel powerless against the climate disaster threat. The author, Alexa Ingram, manages to explain the primary roots of anxiety and deliver the idea that any change starts within. She suggests multiple techniques to help reduce climate anxiety, such as conscious consumption and informational hygiene.
The 21-day challenge suggested in the end is an excellent addition that can help bring all the knowledge received from the book into real-life practice.
I recommend this book to everyone who wants to find their balance in being a part of positive change towards a sustainable future!
Just substitute the word God for earth all through the book and you’ll see what I mean. It talks repeatedly about having a relationship to earth as if it were an evangelist talking about Jesus Christ. If you’re looking for tips for anxiety, don’t go here if you’ve already read an anxiety book because they all say the same thing. There are good points in that part of the book so if you haven’t read an anxiety book, this might be helpful. However, the first 25% of the book is spent trying to scare you to death about the climate by making unverified assertions, as so often happens in the media. At 71, I have lived through so many climate scares, and other kinds of scares, none of which ever came to pass. Rather than read this book, you would do better to call me up and I’ll talk you out of worrying. And I’ve researched this pretty hard for an ordinary citizen. I’ve called actual scientists and talked to them and gotten a much different viewpoint from what this book presents. On top of that some parts of it seem to have been written for this election year, with its biased sniping at Republicans, with absolutely baseless accusations, which seem to be part of a common script with the media and the press. that may recommend the book to some of you and tell others to avoid it like the plague.
