Demyen stole my freedom to lock me in the worst cell imaginable.
His bed.
I get I'm the liar who put his brother behind bars.
And I'm paying for my betrayal, one moan at a time.

He promises he's going to ruin me.
So why does he pull me into his bed every night?
I see the truth behind those icy
He's addicted.

Unfortunately for me...
So am I.

And unfortunately for both of us, there's no ending this now.
No clean break.
No walking away.

Because I've got Demyen's baby in my belly...
And he just put me up to auction for his enemies.

**SPOILERS**
I hate this freaking book. Honestly it was going well, the mystery was unraveling, etc. But freaking Dem. F him. His actions are not in any way redeemable. How do you make it ok that you freaking sold someone as a sex slave. They're supposed to forgive you and live happily ever after?!?! WTF. I stopped reading Fox's books for a while. The MMC are barely redeemable. And the last one I read, ugh, I couldn't understand how anyone could forgive the horrible behavior. Dem is the worst. Because he seems lovable, and her loves Willow, but JFC. Setting the whole auction up was bad enough. Anything where sex trafficking and slavery is involved is beyond morally grey. It's completely reprehensible. But then he actually let her be sold. And then reading what Clara goes through. I wish I could wipe my brain clean of this book.

This was book 2 in the "Zakrevsky Bratva" series. This book picked up where the first one left off with Demyen saving her from her ex. After Willow was picked up by Martin (her biological father) at her school, and Clara called Demyen in a panic, Demyen contacts his source to meet him at the police station. Upon arrival with the police commissioner in tow, Greg Everett (Clara’s father), and Martin are reprimanded, Willow throws herself into his arms. Clara, Willow and Demyen return to his estate where they leave for Fiji. This book had a lot going on in it. They find search the medical examiner who altered the report on the detective that was supposedly shot by Tolya "Demyen’s brother". They discover that the original report stated that Michael Little was poisoned with wolfbane before being shot. They also find out that the M.E. was threatened and had to leave L.V. Clara has a dream in which she believes she was the one that poisoned her friend, Michael. Demyen rages at Clara that she is a manipulative liar and is totally responsible for Tolya’s imprisonment, despite the fact that she has been helping him to uncover the truth. Upon their return to LV, Demyen separates Clara and Willow, putting them in tiny bedrooms. Willow is crying constantly not understanding why Demyen has turned on them, Clara is trying to console her, and his staff is furious. Mako, Willow’s bodyguard threatens to quit, Bambi hands in her resignation, and Pavel tells him that his reaction is insane and his Bratva are ready to revolt. This book takes some twist and turns in it and it ups the dark factor with the whole sex trafficking story. I felt bad for Clara and the things she went through with her father Martin. This was a really good read that left off with another cliffhanger. This book was well written with no errors in grammar or spelling. I am looking forward to reading the next book in this series.

This is such a disappointing read. I was really enjoying the first half, and then BOOM. It all went to 💩

Just a pretext here - Im well versed in very dark romance, but that wasn’t what this was at all. It was a poorly and lazy constructed plot that just didn’t make any sense.

I cannot wrap my head around the fact that Dem reacted so disgustingly over a *freaking* dream of someone with repressed childhood memories from when they were EIGHT YEARS OLD. If the author was going to throw a twist like this into the plot fine, but over a dream after everything was hunky dory? I’m sorry, that’s just lazy writing imo. If you’re a mob boss, you couldn’t possibly be as stupid as this character was written, you’d be dead in 5 minutes.

And then to take it out on a child is just vile to me. Then when he sells Clara into the sex ring because of (again) A DREAM that was a trauma response… that made him irredeemable to me. Clara’s character really also took a nosedive around this point, she became weak and acceptable to the physical and mental abuse at the hands of Demyen and let this affect her child immensely after so many promises were made.

The entire murder plot was just plain stupid and seemed lazily thought out to me. We got so much build up to what the truth could possibly be and then that’s it??? Like wtf???

The decisions Clara’s character made were just plain idiotic. Like when she met her father and Martin at the diner, and we never really got reason why.

We never got to see why Bambi decided to start working for Demyen again after she basically told him to jump off a cliff.

Needless to say, there were SO many plot holes and things in this story that just didn’t make any sense and things that were sprinkled in that were completely unnecessary. I’ve never had a book make me so angry and just plain dissapointed before.

This book took me and every character inside of it on an emotional rollercoaster. This book gave us many answers; it also gave us so many more questions. I will admit that I definitely forgot while I was reading the first book that this series was a dark romance, which ended up leaving me a little shocked by certain things that were happening in this book. That was until I remembered exactly what I was reading, which was not a cute little contemporary romance. I really loved Clara and Demyen in the first book, but as this story went on, I didn't really root for the couple anymore and just wanted Clara to run away from the trauma that all the guys in the book had given her. Demyen's actions in this book left me a little disappointed and honestly pissed off. Luckily, he is fictional, because if he were real, I would actually castrate him. I really enjoyed when Bambi and Pavel gave him what for, but even then, he didn't seem to learn his lesson or see the truth. I swear to God that the grovelling in book three better be top tier; otherwise, I don't know how Clara could ever forgive him. Anyway, we shall see how all this pans out in the next book, Rhapsody of Pain.

"I hate Demyen Zakrevsky so fucking much—because loving him hurts even worse."

I was so let down in this book. I get it in the first book they went back and forth with he hates her he likes her. I get it I really do. I know you have to build the story up. However in BOOK TWO he’s still doing stupid things. I love a good morally gray character, a good enemies to lovers book but come on. One minute he loves her and will lay the world at her feet then she has a dream and she’s so guilty again. I finished the book and I will read the 3rd book just because I need closure but this could have been so much better. I really don’t think it should have taken 3 books to get this story done either. I’m pissed that there’s a 3rd book that I have to read to get the closure to this story.

This book started off where the last left off. However, it was not as good as the first one.
It was difficult to follow at times with the different timelines of events. Things did not line up.
There were some events that just made me roll my eyes as the sheer stupidity of them. I don’t want to write any specific spoilers for readers to be. The way the writer makes Clara so utterly stupid with her father and not see what’s going on in front of her is pathetic. I understand there’s some issues to be played out but it is just plain bad.
I am mostly through the third one now and it’s much worse. This book and the third have unrealistic events that a crime boss would never let happen. The writer makes them look stupid, in my opinion. Actually a better word would be uneducated in the area of things that would happen. I have read many other book about Russian bratva’s and this is the worst. For instance if your child was being hunted by enemy mobs you wouldn’t drop her off to school like a normal day and think nothing will happen. Just plain stupid stuff.

DNF at 70% which is especially heartbreaking given that I liked the first book a lot.

This book needs a content warning. There is human trafficking and that’s why I didn’t finish reading it. I really have no interest in reading about women being sold into sex slavery.

The ultimate betrayal

If book 1 doesn’t have readers reeling, then this one will. The second in this trilogy lulls readers into an idyllic setting in Fiji with Demyen, Clara and Willow all enjoying themselves away from Las Vegas. After Willow was picked up by Martin (her biological father) at her school, and Clara called Demyen in a panic, Demyen contacted his sources to meet him at the police station. Upon arrival with the police commissioner in tow, Greg Everett (Clara’s father), and Martin are reprimanded, Willow throws herself into “Demmy’s” arms whereupon Clara, Willow and Demmy return to his estate. Soon afterwards they leave for Fiji.

The couple are enjoying intimate times together ❤️‍🔥, and as a family before the action begins again. They are in search of the medical examiner who altered the report on the detective that was supposedly shot by Tolya (Demyen’s brother). They discover that the original report stated that Michael Little was poisoned by wolfbane before being shot. They find the ME, she confirms that she was threatened and had to leave LV. Clara and Demyen agree that she is “dead” and leave the medical examiner. What happens next will make everyone’s head spin and infuriate readers simultaneously.

As readers, it’s hard to know whom you want to rank first on “whom I hate the most” list: Demyen, Greg, or Martin. It is almost unbelievable what happens next and it will further enrage readers. The author does a good job at turning our stomachs at the machinations of sex trafficking and the victims of this barbarism.
This is organized crime at its worst. The story takes you there, the people who organize the “auctions” and their evil clientele. You are lead into more betrayals, revelations, and a surprise from Demyen’s past. Book 2 may be better than Book 1. Your heart goes out to Clara and what she has had to endure at the hands of her father and then her BF, Martin. It’s beyond cruel. You will weep for the 8 y/o girl who was physically abused by her own father and the woman who finds herself at the mercy of someone she had come to trust. Will Demyen come to his senses in time? By the way…the surprise is a whopper!!! I stopped to write this review, before I start Book 3.
I’m so happy that I have received an ARC from the author (via Booksprout) and I am leaving an unbiased review voluntarily.

This book is good representation which shows how men (especially cops)  use power, how they take advantage of innocent people and corrupt them. This book made me want to scream because of rage, and I felt it...fear...that you have no one else to go, no place, where you can hide from them, and I wanted to hug Clara. It was not an easy book to read.

Don’t get me wrong, I love Demyen, but in this book? i don’t know. Sometimes I hated him too. They way he spoke to her, they way he was ready to sell her. I know he loved her...but...at some point, he was like others... I can't forget it. maybe we wiil see the development of this character, but it wiil be always there.

So you know how to run like a girl? Clara did it for her life, for her child, and for their future. They deserve a happy ending.

This is the second book in the series and picks up where book one left off. The author continues Demyen and Clara's story with action, violence and danger as well as all the emotions, steam, betrayal and guilt. She paints her scenes in vivid detail and had me glued to the pages. It does end in another cliffhanger and I'm looking forward to the final book. I'm loving this series!

I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book. All opinions in this review are my own and freely given.

Sonata of Lies by Nicole Fox is Book 2 of Zakrevsky Bratva Trilogy. This continues the story of Demyen and Clara. There story started in the previous book "Requiem of Sin". So you will need to read that book before moving forward with this book. Demyen is trying to keep his revenge going towards Clara but his feelings are coming out pretty strong. This book ends in a cliffhanger setting us up for more in their story.

true opinion

I don’t normally write written reviews, but felt very strongly about sharing this time. Even though I enjoyed this book and I think the overall story so far is very good. I gave it only three stars because the way Demyen treated Clara and blamed her for everything, when clearly nothing was her fault, was truly unacceptable. I truly hated him at some points, which I suppose is the point, to get the readers invested and pull them in. But I’ve never felt hate or disgust for a main character in any other book over ever read. His fury and punishment went too far and then when he felt guilt and despair over what he’d done, I felt like he deserved to feel those things. I had no sympathy for him and ultimately I was no longer rooting for him. Hopefully he redeems himself not only with Clara and Willow but for the readers as well in the third book. Just so anyone reading this is aware, the book is worth the read. Don’t shy away because of my feelings, but I had to state my opinions. I’ve read many many Nicole Fox books and have throughly every one!

ASTOUNDING!!!
The second book in the Zabrevsky Bratva trilogy is INVIGORATING and THRILLING🖤
Just when we thought Demyen was getting over is hatred for Clara for her testimony as a child, and their relationship starts to take a more intimate and caring course…BOOM he puts her in the auction!!!
For one fleeting moment I wanted to close my book and SCREAM at him some very profane words and luckily Demyen is fictional because I would castrate him.
HOW COULD HE do this? How could he ever believe Clara would side with her father. When his loyal friends make him aware of their disdain for what he has done and he tries to validate his actions, Demyen realizes he has made the graves mistake.
I have to say Nicole your wicked and creative mind, did not have me anticipate what would happen next. Let me say this is one heck of a plot twist!!
When Clara realizes what Demyen has done, it knocks the breath from her soul. The only thing she hopes and prays for is that Demyen will hold his promise of protecting Willow.
I was so heartbroken for Clara and the loss she was suffering…tissue paper needed😭😭😭
Demyen and Clara’s story only gets more FASCINATING, TWISTED and CONSUMING.
I swear you will go through an array of emotions with this book.
Congratulations Nicole🙌🏻 This book blew me away and I can’t wait to read the last book in this EXPLOSIVE and ASTONISHING trilogy!

I just want to say Sex Trafficking is not ok. Especially by someone who is supposed to love you. Once she was branded I didn't read anymore just skimmed. That girl has got to learn not to be a doormat. I in know wAy forgive him. I would rather have been dead then be a sex slave. Just saying.

Sonata of Lies is book two of the Zakrevsky Bratva Trilogy. A full-length standalone novel which ends on a mind-boggling cliffhanger and continues in Book three Rhapsody of Pain which will ends with happily-ever-after for couple. A story rapped in pain, torture, violence, hatred, evil, endurance, and strength. A dark, edgy, raw, twisty, deranged, and psychopathic, read. A spellbounding, gut-wrenching and heartbreaking story. It's utterly addicting, and unputdownable. WOW!! Just WOW!! Nicole Fox keeps getting better, better she's queen of darkness and she has managed to knock this out park. I thought her last one good. Although this is not for the faint of heart, be advised that it's a dark theme with child/domestic abuse some my abuse and evil. This story kept me captivated and turning the pages all the until that mind-boggling cliffhanger and sitting on the edge of your seat.
The story picks up where it left off in book where Martin abusive Clara ex-husband and her evil dad Greg has finally found her and kidnap her after she has been on the run from them. Martin is trying arrest Clara because she took Willow from him even though he has started to abuse the poor kid just like Clara. Demyen save her from their evil clutches. He take her and Willow out the country for some R & R. Clara is actively trying to help free his brother prison and she told him years of abuse and her being forced to testify against his brother. Demyen is true Dr. Jekyll and Hyde and really give you a whiplash because one minute he's all nice and the next he pure hate. How can can a grown hate an eight year old and carry such a grudge. After taking her on nice vacation he made her get dress where she was auction off for fifty thousand dollars and sold not by Demyen but by her vile and evil father. It seem like she just can't get away from him no matter how far she run. She only is by him six feet in the ground. She of had some idea of Demyen his plans so she made arrangement with his assistant Bambi to take care of her daughter Willow.
Clara was being sexually and physically abused all the while being pregnant for him. He was being an ass because he he knew that he loved her. He was going crazy and throwing things and acting a fool while she was gone. His who was absent from his dad for years Oleh came back and basically that's who bought Clara. Birds of a feather flock together, even though these two had not seen each other in years they're just alike. There is a lot of back story and questions answered in this book, yet more unanswered questions still remain.
This book demands to be read and take us one rollercoaster ride of hidden dark secrets, hidden lies, distrust, deception, danger, hatred, resentment, anger, revenge, mystery, revelations, survival, surprises, auction/sold bought/own, sexual, physical, emotional, psychological, verbal abuse, sex trafficking, depravity, kidnapping, madness, darkness, emotions, tension, devotion, drama, chaos, misunderstandings, pain, suspense, torture, hurt, steam, betrayal, depravity, unexpected twists and turns, despair, and love. Once Demyen show up to Clara’s new master property. However, he just sat there as if she was nothing to him because he was still mad even he was eight. She tried to escape and was almost successful on skating the wall when she was stopped and taken back. Demyen has the capacity to nice to Willow but not to Clara. The story ends on killer last page I just wish the author could let Clara find someone completely different for Clara to have her happily-ever-after with so that Demyen could suffer like has in life preferably someone close to him.

The Requiem of Sin is the first book (and the first series, the Zakrevesky bratva books,I've ever read by Nichole Fox.) and I am yelling where have you been all my life, Nichole Fox?!?! Haha, but really though...these books were so addicting they had me questioning the choices I made while reading them because I needed every minute I could get every day to read them! So that meant staying up late, reading on breaks, and lunches at work and anytime I had to wait on something or someone there was me pulling out my phone or Kindle to read more.
I almost stopped reading for the night and then something crazy happened and I would keep reading for another hour... Heh-heh.

Running off book adrenaline and coffee.

I loved the characters, except for the ones you should hate and I definitely loathed them. (Her Dad, Martin, Raizo, OLEG, etc, etc.)
I love the Lion that is Bambi, and how both Clare, Willow, and Demyen all grow and change for the better with and because of each other.
Tolya is amazing..........
I just adore Princess the Dog so much!
Demyen is my book boyfriend now.
Clare is an awesome mother and a strong person, who becomes even better and even stronger by the end of the series.

This book had so much action, and so many twists and turns, that I am still reeling. Not to mention the "lovey-dovey sexual adventures." (*Sweating* Blushing*) They were hot, hot...HOOTTTT 🥵🔥 as they come... whew!

The books had really funny parts that made me laugh out to myself like some kind of crazy person, which really helped break up some of the more serious and scary topics.

I will admit a few times I was ready to write Demyen off because of his asshole-ishness but let's face it, his life was not all sunshine and rainbows. His otets is a real piece of trash. But, I believe his mother was good, his older brother was good. Hence the little bits and pieces of good you would see in him and in his mind. He was at war with himself and others and a pakhan of the Zakrevesky bratva. But, you could see him, growing, changing and evolving through many horrible situations. So, he did change and improve and work to redeem himself, and that's proof people don't always have to be assholes. That's why he was redeemable in my eyes.
--
I told myself I would wait a while before reading another book by Nichole Fox because I let almost everything else take a backseat while reading The Requiem of Sin, Sonata of Lies, and Rhapsody of Pain. However...... that was a LIE............. Less than a day later, I started Cruel Paradise.... ahhhhhhhh and I am not regretting it.

Never stop writing Nichole Fox, I am addicted!

I was NOT prepared for the direction this story would take. Don't read this out of order! You will need took 1 to get through book 2 and fully appreciate the story.

I'll be super real - I can't decide what to rate this story just because I really feel strongly this required a content warning of specific detail, or at the very least a place to go and find those things in detail. I scoured the author's site and couldn't find anything and while I read and accept dark romance for what it has the potential to be, I think it's important to give others a chance to find out if this is for them or not. I'm listing out what I want to share and calling them spoilers next in case you want to know:

*some* content warnings:

That said.. I could not stop reading this book. I had to know what happened next. Again, thanks to the dual-POV, we get both the inner-workings of Clara's and Demyen's process behind the choices they make and the actions they take but it doesn't make it any easier to swallow. Demyen seems to make such huge progress in terms of allowing himself to see past his personal vendetta of revenge against Clara .. until a trigger moment after a beautiful night and suddenly we're right back at the beginning of book 1.

And Clara.. only Adeline of the infamous Cat and Mouse Duet has suffered like her from the dark fictional stories I've read lately but I think for Clara, it hit harder for me since all of the pain and suffering she is forced to experience in this book of the trilogy is entirely at the hands and snap-choices of the man she thought would keep her safe.

If you like:
- watching two people make lovely, baby-step strides towards finding healing only to then both suffer at the hands of a paranoid, overly proud, insufferably stubborn alpha-a-hole
- feeling gutted after the emotional vulnerability of one moment is snatched away by the world-shattering revelation of a late night confession
- seeing all the good things you stacked up in defense of the MiSuNdErStOoD AnTi-hErO get blown to smithereens because he cannot get out of his own dumb way..
.. you will also tear through this book and be left in absolute shock at that ending.. SO HERE WE GO ONTO THE NEXT because I refuse to let my heart stay broken lol.

Three 𝘸𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘢𝘤𝘵𝘶𝘢𝘭 𝘧𝘶𝘤𝘬 stars.

Book two of the Zakrevsky Bratva trilogy.

Honestly, I don’t know if I can read book three. I’ve read the blurb and I am not ready for more bullshit to be foisted upon Clara after this book.

Demyen is still an absolute moron with the IQ of a rock and at this point he is completely irredeemable in my humble opinion. I guess the pregnancy had to appear in this book because that is the absolute only justification I can see Clara hanging on to for even giving this idiot another chance.

1. He hurt Willow. (Emotionally, not physically) but she’s five years old and has more emotional maturity than this asshole who thinks it’s appropriate to take his anger out on her for a DREAM/traumatic flashback her mother had from her childhood. And that dream leads him to believe that a nine year old somehow grew, cultivated and extracted wolfsbane and put it in the coffee of a police detective to purposely unalive him. REALLY?!?!?!?

2. He. HURT. WILLOW. - I am not getting over this. Ever. This poor little girl was then put into a tiny little room with NO FUCKING WINDOW because our MC is a complete incompetent, emotional moron. And You want me to believe he runs the Bravata? No wonder Pavel said he was going to lose them for lack of confidence and he and Bambi were both ready to quit on him.

3. He hurts Clara. Physically. Puts his hands around her throat and chokes her. Not in the sexy-time way either.

4. He actually goes through with giving her to the yakuza and letting her be sold after she warns him about hem.

5. And this is the big one - The man that buys her is this asshat’s father that fled from the country fifteen years ago and is now back to try to exact revenge. Oh? And he brands her.

I lost my shit at the branding, and the drugging. I’m pretty much over it.

The three stars is for technicality and story telling NOT for subject matter because I am fed up with these two.

"Sonata of Lies," the second installment in the Zakrevsky Bratva series, continues the gripping saga of Clara Everett and Demyen Zakrevsky. With its tantalizing cliffhanger ending, this book seamlessly transitions into the next installment, "Rhapsody of Pain." Having acquired all three books in one go, I found myself utterly engrossed in the unfolding narrative, despite occasionally feeling the urge to shout at certain characters.

From start to finish, "Sonata of Lies" is an absolute page-turner. I devoured it in a single sitting, thoroughly impressed by its ability to surpass even the high expectations set by its predecessor. The relentless suspense kept me on the edge of my seat, with the tension escalating at every turn. Picking up immediately where the first book left off, the dual points of view offer insight into Clara's and Demyen's thought processes, though their decisions remain difficult to accept.

This is not a book to be read out of sequence; it demands to be experienced in order to fully appreciate the intricate layers of hidden secrets, lies, and danger that propel the narrative forward. From the depths of despair to unexpected twists and turns, "Sonata of Lies" delivers a rollercoaster ride of emotions, ranging from love and devotion to betrayal and despair. The story delves into dark themes such as abuse, trafficking, and revenge, yet amidst the darkness, there are moments of unexpected tenderness and hope.

While "Sonata of Lies" provides answers to some lingering questions, it also leaves plenty unresolved, leaving readers eager for more. With its gripping plot and complex characters, this book is a must-read for fans of suspenseful thrillers and dark romances.

With many questions left unanswered in the first book of this trilogy, it was with a growing sense of dread that I picked up the next in the series. But truth be told, it lulled me into a false sense of security. When Demyen decides to take Clara and Willow with him to Fiji, it seems as though they’ve both finally put their demons behind them. It’s almost idyllic. Then Demyen, once again, does a complete 180 and pushes Clara away. Based on what? A dream? I just couldn’t my head around Demyen’s logic to see Clara (eight-year-old Clara) as the mastermind behind his brother’s woes and then his decision to punish Clara in the most horrific way. Demyen, I wanted to scream, don’t do it! But he does, and things will never be the same. As Clara is torn away from Willow, Demyen begins to feel regret, but it’s all too late. Mercifully, perhaps, Nicole skips over much of Clara’s subsequent ordeal, but what we get is enough to get the gist. More than enough really to realize what a psycho the bearded man was and to convey the harrowing experience of being completely powerless. Once again, Clara is used and abused by a man. Will she ever catch a break? Yet deep inside this timid, broken and abused woman is a fire and core of steel that refuses to let her give up without a fight, so as another cliffhanger draws near, she makes a break for freedom and the chance to be reunited with her daughter, at least one more time.

She is his addiction....one he may never let go of

Sonata of Lies is the second book in the Zakrevsky Bratva series and continues the story of Clara Everett and Demyen Zakrevsky. Clara and Demyen meet when she walks into his casino in Vegas, pull a slot machine handle, wins big, and then dumps champagne over him by mistake. Demyen is the owner of the casino and things get hot and steamy when she walks into his hotel room by mistake and finds him dripping wet after taking a shower. There is something that sparks between these two and the passion ignites. But when Demyen discovers that it is Clara who was a false witness against his brother for a murder he did not commit, things will take a turn that Clara never expected. She is locked down by this sexy Bratva boss who is determined to exact some revenge, but it may just be Clara who gets all the pleasure. No matter how hard Demyen tries he just cannot let Clara go, either from his bed or his head. She is an addiction is the worst way and one he does not know if he can ever get over.
This book ends with a cliffhanger and is continued in the next Rhapsody of Pain. I grabbed the three books at once and poured over them, as I loved this story even if at times I wanted to yell at some of the characters.

I'm not sure how to review this book.
On one hand, it was well written, interesting and moved at a much faster pace than the first book. I read the book in about a day and was always eager to come back to it. The spice was spicy enough, and we got a closer look to the darker side of the mob.
But on the other hand... the characters. The mmc should win an award somewhere for being the dumbest, unlikeable, most bullheaded idiot I've ever read. Like you sold your woman to the skin trade, and now you are spending all of your time getting drunk, shouting at the ceiling about missing her but doesn't even bother lifting a finger to go look for her... when she is sold to the SKIN TRADE. She's not gone getting pedicures at the local spa... she's off being sexually abused and tortured somewhere and yet that thought never really seems to cross his mind. What an idiot. His hot and cold act, his inability to see things clearly is getting really old to me. I'm not sure even Nicole can redeem this character because the only way this could end in a happy ever after is if he gets killed and she runs away with Pavel. Fingers crossed this happens in the 3rd book.

AUDIBLE NARRATION WAS GREAT!!
In book 1 I loved Demyen and the way he treated Clara and her daughter Willow. BUT bk2. Sonata pf lies his whole character changes towards them and he hurts 5 year old Willow'S feelings. She had already been traumatized by her birth father. Willow loved Demyen and he turned his back on her. He sold Clara into sexual slavery. Clara is pregnant with his child but Demyen did not know this. Poor Clara is abused drugged beaten and raped by Demyen's father who bought her.

These stories did not seem like Bratva or Mafia stories. Bratva stories goes after other Mafia and Bratva clans. Usually wars against enemy families. They don't concentrate on beating, torturing and doing all kinds of sexual abuse to women and children like the Zakrevsky Bratva. I found Demyen to be a WEAK man, who in this story hurt women and children instead of the men who caused him all kinds of problem.

Bratva and Mafia stories need a Strong Male leader not a Weak one like Demyen. He always backs down from his enemies. I hope he gets some Male size Balls in bk.3.

Audible Narration was Excellent!

Outstanding
This is the second book in the Zakrevsky Bratva series and please to get the best out of this story. Make sure you read the first book first.
I don’t even know where to begin because honestly there are times, I just feel like having whiplash because wow, Dem is a complex character. All Clara wants to do is be a good mum Help Demyen get his brother back and if she’s honest with herself for Demyen to fall in love with her.
Willow is the cutest little girl ever, and all she wants is love which she gets in buckets from Clara and Demyen and everyone that surrounds her except her father and grandfather.
There is so much pain in this book attacks kidnappings it’s just full on and then the cliffhanger in this book. Oh my gosh I just can’t wait to read book 3. I’m really not giving you anything about Book 2 but that’s because you have to read it, to get totally hooked, to submerge yourself in this Story .

Picking up where book 1 left off, Demyen saves Clara from her baby daddy (Martin) and her father (Greg) as they were trying to kidnap her. Clara only wants to believe that her father loves her and will finally “save” her and realize that Martin is not who he thinks he is. Demyen is all kinds of screwed up – he is obsessed with Clara, yet all it takes is a little doubt and he gives not only Clara, but Willow the cold shoulder. Demeyen is a jerk – he still gave up Clara for the auction after overhearing her try to get information out of her father – only he thought she had been playing him.

Hold on – there are some twists and turns in that I did not see coming – the person who bought her auction silenced me. If only he had listened to Clara and stopped letting everyone interfere, maybe things could have turned out differently. I cannot wait to read the ending to this story – what a cliffhanger!!!

Holy Hannah!!!! This second installment did not disappoint in any way!!! The twists and turns, some you could guess, others not so much.
This is a continuation of Clara and Demyen, but so much worse.
Clara is finally starting to remember and help more and more, but at what expense to her own safety and that of her daughter. Demyen says he won't let anything happen to Willow, but he said the same thing about Clara and that didn't work. Clara continues to fight the men in her life, against all odds. She only hopes she can survive this twisted game.
Demyen is hurt, upset and in pain. No one sees it but everyone feels it. He feels betrayed, and he has been, but bot by the people he accuses. Will he find the recording? Will that help change his mind?
This is an excellent story and continues where the 1st one stopped. This has much more love, lust, romance, betrayal, mystery and twists and turns. Of course, this ends on a cliffhanger that has me reaching for the third and final installment to see how this ends. Ugh, I can't wait!!! I received an ARC of this book from the author.

Sold to the highest bidder

So, Clara has been sold? Whether Demyen intended to sell her or not, it’s kind of irrelevant at this point. Clara just can’t seem to catch a break. But, at least she’s finally building a backbone, took her long enough. Despite what happened and how everything happened, I’m cheering for her.
I did read others reviews and understand why they may not agree with the way Clara handles things, clearly she suffers from some sort of Stockholm syndrome.
Either way, I enjoyed this book and do recommend you read the series. Just know that there are scenarios where you may think it’s a bit much and you would never…and probably you wouldn’t,but it’s an eye opener. I like stories like these where women learn to fight back, develop their confidence and assert their self worth.
Also, I reviewed the last book first. Now I’m working my way backwards. In case you’re reading all three of my reviews and wondering why they all feel different. I’m reviewing with the whole story already revealed. Hope it helps you choose whether to read the series or not.
