Domino On Your Radio: Unlikely Tales From an Introvert on the Air

Rate this book
I’m an introvert who pretends to be an extrovert.

There are many of us.

With those words, Dom Testa unlocks the door on a fascinating radio odyssey that has lasted nearly 50 years.

In this captivating memoir, Dom reveals the often funny—and sometimes embarrassing—stories that highlight his long career in broadcasting.

He also pulls back the curtain on radio’s quirks, from the absurdity of ratings to the strange allure of contests. And beyond the mic, he shares poignant stories of love, loss, and stalkers.

Buckle up for an unfiltered and brutally honest glimpse into the extraordinary life of an introvert on the air.

Dom Testa is a writer, speaker, and broadcaster. He splits his time between Georgia and Colorado.

I enjoy autobiographies when it feels like the author is in the room and telling you the stories. This is one of those books.

I’ve been fortunate enough to grow up listening to Dom on the radio in Denver. I’ve listened to his voice Monday through Friday. I’ve “played” along with the games and conversations. I’ve even won the mindbender!! (14 years ago ad the answer was a purse.). I’ve read Dom’s spy series, featuring the character Erik Swan. So when he said he was writing an autobiography, I was in from the word go.

My first dream job, growing up, was to be a disc jockey. I thought it was cool and fascinating. Based on the stories Dom shares, I was right!! I love the story about one of my favorites, Jon Bon Jovi!! I love the dirt on who may not be the best people in the industry (read the book - no spoilers here). I didn’t follow this dream, but Dom’s book makes me feel like I did.

I’ve dog eared pages in the book for my husband to read, if he doesn’t read the whole book too. The stories are just that good!

Thank you Dom for blessing us with 31 years in Denver! If you could work 31 more, that would be great. And I’ll be listening and reading future stories.

I loved everything about this book! The honesty, the humor, the inside dish on one of my favorite radio shows ever and the perspectives on introverts (to which I can totally relate.) I’ve been waiting for a while for Dom to finish this book and it was worth the wait! I highly recommend the audio version.

I was a loyal listener of Mix100 for 20 years in Denver. Loved all the variations of Dom’s show. This behind the scenes look added to all those great memories! Thanks for sharing.
