For centuries humans were left to believe that the Strigoi were little more than folklore; the subject of tales told by parents to warn children and travelers to beware. They were believed to be the dead rising from the grave, but their true nature is much more terrifying. For centuries they reigned terror, and then one day they simply disappeared. However, their disappearance was not permanent and centuries later the discovery of a dark planet in an even darker region of space has led cousins Aurelia Szabo and Nic Sala to the hunt they’ve been trained their entire lives to succeed in, for if they fail it could mean the end of the human race. As for Jason Hawk, it is a homecoming he had hoped would never come. When he fled the planet it was to a new life and the hope that the legacy he was running from was dead and buried. Four hundred years later he finds out just how wrong he was, and now he must team with his sworn enemies and those trained to kill him in less than a heartbeat in order to rid the universe of the Strigoi once and for all. It will take a miracle for the hunters, who quickly become the hunted, to defeat the Strigoi, but Aurelia, Nic and Jason are determined to rise from the approaching battle victorious, even if it means their own lives, and it just might come to that.
