Why did Everton actually start life at the home of their arch-rivals in Anfield? Why did they come to be known as the Toffees? Who was the referee that scarred a generation of Evertonians?

Discover all this and more in this classic, bestselling book packed with a feast of weird and wonderful facts, stats, lists, quotes and anecdotes from the rich history of Everton FC.

"There was nothing like quietening that Kop. When you stuck a goal in there it all went quiet. Scoring there was a delight to me. I just used to turn round to the crowd and bow three times to them. They never liked me doing that". -- Dixie Dean

"It's Arsenal 0 Everton 1, and the longer it stays like that the more you've got to fancy Everton." -- John Motson

"If you don't believe you can win, there is no point in getting out of bed at the end of the day." -- Neville Southall

"It was a nice punch, I have to say." -- Wigan's Paul Scharner after Duncan Ferguson was sent off for hitting him.

I wanted to know more about my new favourite team in the BPL... This book is a keeper, especially for those who are interested in the history and figures of the boys from Goodison Park...!
