Jade Jones discovered her passion for creative writing in elementary school. Born in 1989, she began writing short stories and poetry as an outlet. Later on, as a teen, she led a troubled life which later resulted in her becoming a ward of the court. Jade fell in love with the art and used storytelling as a means of venting during her tumultuous times.
Aging out of the system two years later, she was thrust into the dismal world of homelessness. Desperate, and with limited income, Jade began dancing full time at the tender age of eighteen. It wasn't until Fall of 2008 when she finally caught her break after being accepted into Cleveland State University. There, Jade lived on campus and majored in Film and Television. Now, six years later, she flourishes from her childhood dream of becoming a bestselling author. Since then she has written the best-selling "Cameron" series.
Quite suitably, she uses her life's experiences to create captivating characters and story lines. Jade currently resides in Atlanta, Georgia. With no children, she spends her leisure shopping and traveling. She says that seeing new faces, meeting new people, and experiencing diverse cultures fuels her creativity. The stories are generated in her heart, the craft is practiced in her mind, and she expresses her passion through ink.
Well Well Ms. Jade. I bought and finished this book in a day! Cameron has gone through hell and back yet again! Add Ericka and Tiff to the mix and that spelled disaster. I knew Tiff was hell from the word go! Her drama was like Poca reincarnated! I must say I didn't expect the events between them to go down like that but I wasn't surprised. Ericka on the other hand, I didn't see that one brewing. OMG! Although this seemed to be a very short read I did enjuy it and hope Cameron has finally learned to make healthy decisions but I wonder if that's possible with Jude's present situation and Terrance lingering in the wings....
Despite some editorial errors, I enjoyed this author’s storytelling and couldn’t put the book down. I recommend this for all who enjoy reading urban literature as I do. I am reading “Cameron 3” now.
It took me a minute to catch on to what happened in the first because it had been a few years sense I read the the first one but it was a good read, Cameron has gone through more shit then anybody I know sista need a break. Kudos great read
I wasn't planning on continuing on with this series, but then I got two months free of Kindle Unlimited and I thought, "Why not?" I'm not paying for Kindle Unlimited or for reading the book, so why not read it? I did and I wished that I didn't. The ending of the first book left on such a high that it makes sense that this book would destroy all things happy to make a second book. What doesn't make sense is that the author takes established characters and make them change drastically and we don't get an explanation as to why that happens. For example, Tiffany in book one is the only girl in Cameron's world who doesn't strip. This changes drastically in book 2 to the point where she is a carbon copy of Poca, but worse because she is the worst friend in the world.
The plot is weird. It has a lot of similarities from the first book in a bad way. I felt like Cameron was going to get raped and have another near death experience... I felt like Tiffany was going to mirror Poca, and that Jude was going to become Silk but worse. I was right in most of my predictions unfortunately. It's almost as if the author only knows how to write a book if it follows the same major plot points of rape, loss of a friend, bad choice in men.
In regards to the characters, I didn't like anybody in this book. I felt like Cameron was really stupid because the same things kept on happening to her but she kept on making the same mistakes. I used to love Tiffany but I ended up hating her in this book. I didn't mind Jude at the end of book one, I thought that he was a bit sketchy, but he turned out alright in the end of book one. At the end of book two he is a legit criminal and in jail… I feel like no characters are safe in this series from a drastic character personality change.
I'm glad that I didn't pay money for this book because I would have been severely disappointed. But I do want to say that the book is written in a good way that will suck you in. It's not a good book itself, but you will want to know what happens next and you won't stop reading until you have finished the book to have the reaction of, "What the hell did I just read?" I don't think I will continue on with the series, but if I fail to find anything that I want to read with Kindle Unlimited, I can see myself carrying on just for the sake of it. Just to have something to read on my phone.
I don't know what is it with sequel and always flopping. Cameron, the prequel, was so exciting. There were so many twists and turns, so many characters we loved and hated who died and perished unexpectedly, in under just 200 pages. So when I was done, and was ready for the second book in the series, I thought the momentum would pick up and just be the gift that keeps on giving. How I was so mistaken.
In CAMERON 2, Cameron, the protagonist, picks up where she left off from CAMERON. Her co-worker/friend/nemesis just got killed, and she saw the person who killed her. The relationship she had with an abusive patner, Silk, got over and she was now with a new person, Jude. How would she move on? In this sequel, we see her navigating her new life. She has quit being a stripper, at her partner's behest. But that life can't be discarded just like that, now, can it? One way or another, it keeps on pulling her back. And I am afraid Silk is to blame in this, so is she.
Jude came out as a Mr. Nice guy in CAMERON, now we got to see that that was just too good to be true. He has his skeletons too in his closest, and although his don't abuse Cameron, they will sure take him away from her for a very long time.
What the book was consistent in was the twists and murders. It was guns flying everywhere. Cameron is one person who will disgust you for being naive. To think that she was led astray by Pocahontas, now she is allowed to be done the same by another person? When would she learn to stand for herself, even if it meant she would stand alone?
It dissapointed me on many levels. I felt like it didn't contribute that much into the series, although I am only two books in. Not trying to spoil it for you, this was just a repetitive of what the first book was about. There was another Pocahontas, just with a different name and physique. And the character of this person was just too sudden and convenient to hit the spot.
I saw a couple of glaring errors, not as many as the first book, though. If the author could invest a little more in professional editting, then her work would be up to standards.
Cameron is still stupid in this book. It was a repeat of the 1st book, but instead of Pocahontas, it was Tiffany. So far, I only see Cameron as a sucka. Lol She STILL continues to put herself in situations that she knows she should not be in. She sneaks around and follows Jude to see what he’s up to. That situation could have easily went left. She finds out she’s pregnant, yet she stills goes to a sketchy ass party and takes a drink. Then ends up getting raped, she miscarried, and gets shot and she still does not tell Jude anything about it, then blames Tiffany like she couldn’t have said no.
Everything she does is just unnecessary. That whole Marcus situation is just some bull waiting to happen.
I’m so mad I got “sucked”, if you can call it that, into this book. I feel obligated to finish even tho I roll my eyes, skim through pages, and genuinely get upset at it. Idk if it was the author’s intentions to make her a VERY dumb ass 19 yr old or what, but idk if I can take it.
Although this was a good book I still say that Cameron was still stupid. In part 2 she still had not learned her lesson with who her friends were. Again to move a friend into your home, let them allow you to take them to the strip club to help them get a job, then this friend of yours is just another Poca, now you walk in you home to find that she about to shower with your man. Blah, blah, blah... this chick was like really stupid. At nineteen how dumb do you have to be in order to learn a lesson. Not saying I haven't been young and stupid growing up, but ain't no way I will allow people to keep dragging me through shit like they did. Good read all in all Jade, so I going to check out Cameron 3 and see what other stupid shit Cameron will go through in there.
As I continue to read this series I can't help but ask myself, "How dumb can one person possibly be?" I mean I get it, it's a book based on fictitious events and characters but seriously what person in their right mind constantly continues to make the same terrible mistakes concerning their life and safety? There's definitely such thing as happenstance but JEEZ! At some point you have to take responsibility for the dumb situations you put yourself in. I'm really hoping book 3 has a better and more realistic story line otherwise, I'm going to stop while I'm ahead.
Is everyone in this book clueless? I mean the level of self deception and lies is beyond my capacity to comprehend. Cameron and Jude are two peas in a pod. Marcus is relentless. Kevin actually has a conscience? Really freaking hard to swallow. Cameron is the grim reaper for real because everybody she loves has to pay the piper somehow. She needs to stay in a monastery and chant daily because old girl is bad luck personified. Overall a very good book and well worth the drama.
Cameran has too much going on its not even reluctantly possible for some one ti have the much bad luck and be that stupid the book is so unbelievable its interesting i cant imagine what else this fool could go through in 8 books i don't like none of the characters and the book kind of puts you in the mind of players club but i think the writer has great potential because im still wanna know what happen to cameron
This girl has the worst luck in the world. She keeps getting herself in situations that could have been avoided after the first time. I never would have thought that Kevin was her brother and why he had to die? I really enjoyed the book and I'll be reading the next book in the series.
Cameron just can't catch a break. I feel so bad for her. I thought Wallace was her brother. That Tiffany and Ericka are bat sh#t crazy. I hope Cam can get some piece in her life..
This book is full of surprises. Usually in a book I pretty much know who the main character is going to be with but in this book it is truly hard to tell. Cameron has suffered so many loses I hope she will get a break in book 3. Great series so far!!!
I love Jade Jones she is a very good writer. I am following you on Instagram. Keep up the good work. I have read 6 of your books so far and enjoyed them all.
How do U keep gettin caught up N the same damn situation over and over and over. It makes good readin though. The family revelation @ the end.....priceless. Ready 2 start part 3.

Review:
The author, Jade Jones really presented us once again with a well written novel. I found Cameron 2 a continuation of the first book and it was a good fast read. Poor Cameron. I can see that she still had trouble knowing just who her true friends very were. Cameron may have thought she had gotten rid of one friend named Pocahontas, but truly had that really happen? You will find that this story get stranger almost on every single page. I was kept interested in whether Cameron will ever get a break in this story...well...this is where I say you must pick up Cameron 2 to find out all the answers to the what, where, how and why of it all. Will Cameron ever finda true friend? Cameron 2 will definitely have many twist and turns that will have you on the edge of your seat wondering what?, where?, how? and even why? There were many interesting characters that you will find in the intriguing read were simply off the chart good, well developed, a real 'nutcase,' and a unknown brother even appears. Well, I will stop here and only say if you haven't read Cameron 2, please do because I believe you will find it a most entertaining sequel read.
Oh Snap! I am really enjoying this series, and I am so glad that there is a Part 3 coming out real soon. Cameron just can't catch a break. Her choices in friends are just aweful. It was a shame what happen to Silk and Tiffany, but that powder will do that to you. Silk was becoming a problem anyway. He had become troubled ex gone stalker! Tiffany just took the path of distruction, and never could get back on track...so sad. I'm glad that Cam made a connection with her Aunt and found out who her brother was, even if it was a shocker and someone that she didn't care that much for. End the end she learned that it is a very small world, and it's important to know your people regardless to who they maybe. I'm ready to see what will happen to Ms. Ericka. Will she continue to be a problem? Will Cam or Jude have to off her, will someone else get rid of her or will she end up illiminating herself? She's crazy enough. Marcus is really into Cam. He's feeling her like crazy and wants to make her his lady. How far will he go to make that happen? Ready to see if she will fall for Marcus or hold her dude, Jude, down. Once again Jade did an awesome job! 5 stars for Cameron 2!!!
Cameron and Jude were trying to make a life for themselves but drama followed them wherever they went. Cameron realized she didn't know who Jude truly was. She never took the time to ask him about his past, probably because she was just so happy to be away from her ex, Jude's past was the last thing on her mind. Jude's past puts Cam in an unfortunate situation and Jude's ex threatens to come between the two as well. A new man came on the scene, vying for Cam's affections and causes Jude to question her fidelity. I felt like everyone was against Cam in this book. She couldn't catch a break. Cam continued to make poor choices, which put her in danger, which was very frustrating. If you could possibly be raped or murdered, going to a house full of horny men, maybe that little bit of extra money to be made isn't worth it. She never seemed to learn from her mistakes. I wasn't a fan of Jude in this book too. He started to remind me of Cam's ex, Silk with his overbearing behavior. Cam and Jude fought their way through all the haters, but it was un uphill battle the entire time.
I enjoyed reading this book. Cameron 2 is never disappointed but this book was funny and emotion at the same time. I'm stock because Kevin is really Cameron's brother and he's planning to kill his sister right what's happening to him. Tiffany was a good girl and good friends to Cameron but she was acting stupid and dumb around with Cameron. She was hanging out with wrong friends and she was jealous of Cameron. Ericka was crazy and dumb but she can't let Jude go. Silk was right about Jude but Cameron didn't listen to Silk. I wasn't surprised and shocked for Jude. I don't know Cameron is going to do with the baby. So far, Jade Jones did a good job. I'm looking forward to read Cameron 3. This book and this author deserve a five stars?
Not because she's one of my fave authors, but I tell you but this cameron book just get better and better. Tiffany was a piece of work, when you think people are so innocent they are not she was worse than Pocahontas in my opinion. Lord Ericka on the other hand was plain old Looney Tune. lol Loved me some Jude but he gots to get himself right. Now let's talk about Kevin, if he lives what would become of him and Cameron's relationship? Did auntie create a good bond or not! Well let's move on to part 3 to get some of these questions answered. Excellent read.
This book is soooo good! Cameron just has terrible luck and its so crazy because you would think that after all the things she went through with Poca that she would learn to not make the same mistake twice! I'm anxious to see what is going to happen in Part 3...Is she going to leave Jude for Marcus? Hm, I'm thinking that she will be with Marcus and the cycle will continue! But I'm hoping that her and Jude stay together raise their baby and they both plot and kill Ericka...and that Marcus becomes the stalker! *****5 Stars!
I like this book . Can't believe Silk went out like that but oh well he won't be missed . And I knew Tiffany was going to be shady and be another Pocahontas and Cameron never realize it til after the fact things turn bad like girl when are you going to learn like wth . And I bet she's going to give Marcus a try and bet she still gone have drama in her life. And ericka crazy self still going to come for her. And Kenny I didn't want him to die I can't say I dislike him though . That mad me sad.
This book was amazing. Cameron is not to be messed with. Reading the book you think of Cameron as being a little naive, but she is not what she looks like. Cameron is off the chain and I also love the way her and Jude love and look out for one another. There were so many twist and turns in this book that you really have to be on your toes. The other part that I like is even if you don't read the books close together Jade refers to the previous characters in different parts of the book and it reminds you of what happened. I would recommend this book highly to others.
