Kim Everson brings us a book about weight loss. This may have a lot of healthy eating and taking care of your body advice. Kim takes all the nutritional advice available and adds to it an element that many people have when tackling weight loss or getting healthy. Your spiritual health on this journey is just as important as your physical health journey. This small paperback offers practical advice and is meant for the purchaser to not only read the book but also apply and use this book long term much like a workbook. She has little snippets at the end of every chapter, a little checklist to have to check off and consider as you tackle each chapter in your journey. She shares her journey and little extras like her favorite memory verses. As a chronic illness warrior, I read little books like this one to help expand my health journey to allow me to live longer. The rules in this book are rather simply focus on your spirit and your body to reach the goals of a healthier you. I find that refreshing in the diet culture out there. I can say the cost of the book may put a few people off with the length of the book being only ninety-eight pages. However, even if the book had a Kindle option this book is something you need to write, highlight, and make notes on. I think if you need a kick off point to this journey for not only a healthy body and soul this is well worth the cost.

Losing Weight With God by Kim Everson is an inspirational and realistic look at what God gave us and how we can improve our bodies as He inspired us to do. The book reminds us that we are created in His image and that we need to take care of that image which includes exercising and honoring our bodies. The book talks about our food intake and following nutrition suggestions to lose weight, not over indulging. The author points out that in the Bible fasting is used many times over as a way to control yourself and those around you. We also must make these choices and celebrate our weight lost successes, renew ourselves, and restore our faith as it guides us on our journey. In addition to the author providing us inspiration throughout the book, at the end he also provides us with a list of his favorite scriptures and other books for continued success and guidance. This book teaches us a more important reason to lose weight and there is a higher calling to keeping ourselves happy, healthy and fit.

Great ideas and spiritual insights allowed this author to encourage a focus for the reader to treat their body as a temple. Mixing Faith and Science Kim Everson showed a great willingness to entice readers to work hard on developing habits to improve both health and spiritualness in daily life. The large concern with this presentation in this writing was how it took bits and pieces from various religions instead of sticking to strengthening a fuller connection with the topic to one single faith which the author is truly familiar with.
