Freeing Her Cheetah is the sixth book in the Embracing The Bond Series, a stand-alone, cheetah shifter, steamy, paranormal romance. Due to explicit language, graphic sexual scenes, and violence, this book is intended for mature (18 years +) readers.
So I WAS down with this series, and I gave raving reviews on the previous books before this book. However, it seems that the authors beliefs have dribbled into her writing, and I always stop following authors/series when certain lines of thinking appear in their book plots. It's gross. But I'll start from the beginning.
This book has been lackluster compared to the others - idk why, but with the others, they seemed well paired, and the chemistry flowed naturally. That wasn't present with this couple, which I was truly shocked by since the other books were *chefs kiss*. Elijah is unnecessarily angry the whole time, and hearing his back story (finally), once you hear it, you are severely underwhelmed lol. I also don't perceive Elijah as a Dom and Saylor calling him Sir gives me the ick. So do the s*x scenes with him wearing his dirty cowboy hat the whole time. 🤢
I got to about 80-ish percent when this little plot line appeared. It's going over why the FMC's mom was repeatedly r*ped by her mate's best friend and when she ran away because she couldn't take it anymore.
“How was it possible for you to get pregnant outside the mate bond?” My skin is chilled as our hushed words fill the room. My mom’s painful past turns my stomach, and I don’t want to know more. “You don’t have to say anymore.” I hate that May has to hear it. “I have to get it out. I have realized that the longer I hide what happened, the worse I feel.” She sits up straight. “You shouldn’t be able to,” she answers my question. “My guess is that May is supposed to be here. There are no mistakes,” she says roughly to May."
Yeah....wow! The ol "you were supposed to get r*ped so you can have more kids and they are SUPPOSED TO BE HERE" line. Like r*pe was the universe's gift to her. 😡🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬. I couldn't continue and immediately removed it from my library. This didn't need to be a conversation. Like, we know May was created via r*pe through the story that was being told. It's an unfortunate circumstance but also paints the picture of why she ran away. But throwing in the "there are no mistakes" line is where the problem is. I was severely disappointed by this and won't be reading any more books by this author. I'm honest in my reviews, even when I don't finish a book. This is how I personally feel and a topic I won't budge on in the books I read - no r*pe is supposed to happen bs, nothing that could he misconstrued as shaming people for ab0rt10n from being SA'd, and similar lines of thinking.
If this doesn't bother you, then move along and finish the book out. As it wasn't my favorite in the series, I had no issue stopping it at 81% (214 of 263).

REVIEW: Accepting Her Dragons is the sixth book in the Embracing the Bond series which tells the story of cheetah Saylor Spade finding her mate cheetah Elijah Sharpe. Saylor and Elijah are two cheetahs that have experienced a lot of trauma in their adolescent years that shaped their adult lives. The moment that Saylor met Elijah in his cheetah form when she was on the run from her stalker Grant the Alpha of the cheetah pack she was from was kismet. It was such a happy moment when Saylor finally said yes and completed the mating bond with Elijah.
I was so happy when after some time when after making love Saylor felt then heard the tiny thud of a heartbeat of their just conceived child which Elijah heard soon after. It was great to read the journey both had to make in order to find each other. Saylor and Elijah had to over come their past insecurities in order to let the mating bond as well as the love they were both beginning to feel for one another. They both had to deal with their past coming back to help them stand up for each other and to heal together in order to make a life together. Now I'm excited to go on another journey to find out what will happen to the next pair of shifters who will find their mates.

This is the 6th book in the Embracing The Bond Series. They don't necessarily need to be read in order... but in my opinion it would help. Each character you come across, as the series goes on, has shown up in every book so far. This story follows Elijah and Saylor. Saylor has been on the run for her entire life from the Alpha Cheetah of her old pack. While on the run she stops and ends up on Elijahs land in the woods. Turns out they're fated mates and the mate pull is so strong in this universe that the MMCs become possessive of they're mates instantly. They are both slightly hesitant at first due to their pasts and who they are as people but neither truly fight the bond. I absolutely adore this paranormal shifter universe and I couldn't recommend it enough! I hope if you decide to read it you enjoy it as much as I do! Happy Reading!
Took me a bit to work through this one. Not because it isn't a good story. You know when you read the same series and the plots are all pretty much the same? Well, that's where I found myself. I really am enjoying this series and how all these different types of shifters come together to support one another and slowly become a family. This one is no different. Elijah thought he was going to be alone forever only to find his mate running in his woods away from a threat. Saylor is running from a shifter that wants to force the mate bond on her. He saves her she saves him, yada yada yada. It has a twist at the end that I enjoyed. Another shifter or two to add to the growing shifter family that watches out for one another
Omg I love this whole series. This book did not disappoint. The interactions and banter were top of the line. I devoured this one one sitting. II will reread it tomorrow and many more times. I love the fmc and the cheetah is amazing. When I first read cheetah I was skeptical but it so worked. I also love that there aren't many books that enclude cheetah shifters. Everyone knows wolves and bears and damn coyotes. But cheetahs. And I hope sally is in future books. #sallyforpresident
Saylor I had been on the run since she was a child. She left her pack with her mother and never looked back. Elijah lives with his found family/pack. They are not all the same type of shifters or magical being but, they take care of each other. Saylor and Elijah have their own baggage and trauma they carry. But, once they meet and realize they are mates things begin to change. Each of them has something from their past came back to try and prevent them from being happy. There are triggers, explicit spice, violence and strong language. 18+
This series is one of those I know I can trust to have a good story but not give me anxiety. The couples in this series are seriously so sweet and perfect for each other. I love how the plot develops and the conflicts are outside of the relationship. There are no third act breakups and I’m sooooo here for it.
I really liked Elijah and Saylors story! It was a really sweet story that had a lot they both had to work through together! One of my favs in the series (Bash is my fav so far!)
I loved this book as much as the other ones in the series. Always love to see all the other characters and see what they are up to. I loved all the new family members that were introduced. It was great to see Elijah find his happiness. I will be eagerly awaiting the next book.
Another absolutely amazing book from T.D. Edwards!
I feel like every time I read one of her books, I think to myself, "This is my favorite one yet!" But then she writes the next one and it becomes my new favorite. I am thoroughly enjoying this world of magical creatures that Edwards has created and I can't wait for more!
I did enjoy this one The pack of misfit shifters. The humour. the bromance, smexy scenes, Yes Sir!, loyalty and friendship. Im here for it! I love the chemistry between Elijah and Saylor! 🤤🔥 . . . I'm so curious about Sally's life story, tho! It's like her character is packing some serious adventure. 🤔
Wow! This might be my favorite so far. Can you say plot twists?? While these books are all roughly the same set up and design, this one actually had two plot twists I didn't see coming, which made it better than the rest. I felt like the writer was actually trying to be a little more creative in this one. Hopefully the lions will be just as good!
Oh my Elijah!!!! I love him so much and I’m SOOO happy he got his mate!! And dang was this h0t and spïcy!!! I loved it so much though! One of my favorite things about this series is how everyone from the previous books is still there and supporting and helping
Everyone of these books in this series are just so good. I love them all. I'm also excited for the next couple by the end of the books and this one is no different I'm excited for Logan and his brothers.
This was a good one. I didn’t see the twist coming. Salor was a force to be reckoned with. She was tired of running. Elijah was awesome I loved his special kind of crazy.
While the storyline of fated mates and past trauma is definitely predictable, this was still a very enjoyable book. Has a bit of spice, some unexpected twists, and some expected ones. If you love the fated mates trope this one is for you!
Wow! T.D Edward does it again! Everyone loves a tall and hot cowboy who knows his way around the bedroom. If you are looking for that search, no more! You will find it in Freeing Her Cheetah!!
Enjoyed Elijah’s & Saylors book. Glad he finally got his happily ever after. Found his mate. Let me just say I’m happy retribution was given in this book.
Elijah’s story. Elijah is a cheetah shifter who lived next to Laken ( you meet Laken in book 5). Elijah’s past made him hate vampires ( for good reason) so becoming a part of the group of friends with 2 vampires and their mates has been hard. But Elijah ends up needing their help to protect his new found mate.
Saylor has spent her whole life running. With her mother and then alone. Saylor is a cheetah shifter who has been running from the Alpha of her old pack since he killed her father and his son has decided to claim her as his mate.
