A cruise liner adrift on the ocean. A merciless assassin on the prowl. A terrified crew fearing for their lives. Can the ship’s doc stop the slaughter, or will she end up dead?
Dr. Emma Steele is gutted. She left her ER to escape her bloody memories and find herself at sea, but a wave of deaths rocks her ship, and her peace is crushed. Take Lives is the sixth exciting thriller in the ER Crimes series. If you like strong female heroes, armchair travels to fascinating places, and you don’t mind a bit of blood and gore, you’ll love Rada Jones MD’s engrossing tale.Read Take Lives today to dive into a thrilling adventure.
Rada was born in Transylvania, ten miles away from Dracula's Castle. Growing up between communists and vampires taught her that humans are fickle, but one can always rely on dogs and books. After she immigrated to join her husband, she went to medical school, then worked in the ER for years, but she still speaks like Dracula's cousin. Her thrillers feature Dr. Emma Steele, a not-so-young ER doc with a moody teenage daughter and a fondness for wine. If blood, gore and serial killers turn you on, check out OVERDOSE, MERCY, and POISON. If you're into dark medical humor, check her STAY AWAY FROM MY ER. But if you're into dogs, the K-9 Heroes series is for you. To celebrate Gypsy, Rada's beloved German Shepherd, Emma adopted a quirky, bacon-loving K-9 named Guinness who runs her life through Mercy and Poison.
This one was definitely different than all the others as it was based on a somewhat current political theme. Not that I am against it at all, however, I dropped a star as the killer was revealed right in the beginning and took the surprise element away. Additionally, there was little in the ways of the ports of call and some of the other characters that made the previous books so enjoyable. Being that this is Emma's last cruise I am mildly disappointed. The biggest disappointment is that I have to wait until next November for the next book in the series lol!
Dr Rada Jones has written a remarkable series. At first I was disappointed that the story was no longer in the emergency room. I didn't expect to enjoy the adventures on a ship. Boy, was I wrong. Great reading! Highly recommended to all.
How many times can the same Dr discover a killer is among them… I was really into the first 3 books in this series but when she set sail I should have set sail too and been done.
Pretty good book. Ames the storylines interesting. This time I was able to guess a few of the plots but well worth the read. Fantastic ending! Another author I have discovered this year.
Not the end for Emma and Guinness, but a good ending on the cruise ship. Was glad Glad that Hanna came to visit. Looking forward to when Harvest comes out.
