I'm gonna try and compose my thoughts for this one, otherwise it's all gonna be incoherent fan gushing......also I knew I will like book when all the trigger warnings are my kinks! Lol 😂

Anyway this is a classic Dark romance that follows Noah a grade A psychopath and his innocent( or is he ?) therapist Chase. From their first encounter their chemistry and their attraction for each other is explosive. Noah goes full on obsessive mode from the start and sort of manipulates and takes advantage of chase's childhood and present day circumstances to make him his, and yes there is a good dose of stalking is involved in there. Chase on the other hand was a little reluctant to act on his impulses cause of obvious reasons but he slowly gives in when his desire and need takes precedence over his common sense.

If you like unhinged, deranged, depraved, obsessive mcs, then this might be the story for you.

I also love how the author didn't try to redeem Noah, which a lot of authors tend to do to some extent. And I get why. But Noah is conniving, manipulative and very violent and he stays that way till the end. But we also see how he "loves" chase in his own way and can go lengths to keep him safe and by his side. Which to be honest I really like in a dark romance.

Lastly, when it comes to spice.......well let's just say I will never look at a blueberry muffin the same way. That was one of the most sensual scenes I have read in a book and they weren't even doing much for christ's sake.

I had a blast reading this and I'm already craving a re-read!!!!

* I was kindly sent an Arc by the author and this is my honest review.*

"It annoys me that I can’t peek inside his body to familiarize myself with his internal organs, the size of his heart,everything.."

Does your man even like you if he doesn't want to crawl inside your body? Hehe
Chase, being Noah's therapist saw all the red flags and thought, hey that's my favorite fucking color.

"Day by day he’s becoming more emotionally dependent on me. It in turn feeds my need for control. I want him to be wholly reliant on me. That we become one another’s whole existence"

Chase tried so hard to stay professional and resist him, but after that, Blueberry muffin... shewwwt I would have be a goner too...
“Having happy memories, baby?"
YES! 🤭

"Others find love in the light, I found mine lurking in the shadows."

Well, yeah, he's your stalker. Haha, I loved them, though. Noah melted when Chase called him his Shadow 🥹 so effing cute.

"You better hurry the fuck up before I bend you over that car. You know what that name does to me."

Also, poor Liam, he was a good friend.

“I’m sunbathing. Why would I put a shirt on?” “Because the pervy fuckers on the boats might see you, and they’re too far away for my knife to reach them.”

I loved how Noah possessiveness intensifies on each chapter, it just gets hotter and hotter each time, and How Chase So Compliant and Submissive for him even tho he knows how wrong this was, like he's literally an expert.
It's just everything I search for in a book with a trope like this,
The codependency, The Intensity, The Sex, The obvious Red Flag, Their Neediness.

This book was just so cringy and I have made up my mind to avoid any of syn blackrose books, after tied to you which was her first book, her books doesn’t give joy again, Then in this book, Noah claimed he wanted chase happy but hurt Liam by slamming him down and wounding him and all chase cared about was calming Noah rage, he punched your brother and you’re doing my shadow 🤣, calling Noah a psychopath has to be the worst thing I can think o🤣, please this book shouldn’t have had a happy ending.. bye

Clearly I’m in my stalker romance era!

Chase has been let down in life by most people. His brother has been his only constant. Fresh off a break up from his cheating ex he has no idea what’s about to barge into his life. Chase is a therapist and even he can’t stop the whirlwind that’s blowing his way.

Noah is a certifiable psychopath. I’m not kidding. He feels almost nothing except a need for violence and his completely over the top obsession of Chase. As soon as he saw Chase he knew he would be his possession. Forever. But even though Noah doesn’t feel, say or do the things a neurotypical person would there’s an endearing way he cares for and dominates Chase’s life. And Chase loves it. So at least there’s that 😂.

Does Chase know their relationship is far from normal? Absolutely. He thinks his needs aren’t normal and shouldn’t be fed but Noah has a knack for bringing them out and making them ok. It works for them and I really fell in love with their unhinged dynamic. Noah was dead set on being Chase’s entire focal point at all times and Noah couldn’t function well without knowing where and what Chase was doing.

“You should be scared of me, baby. I will do anything to keep you, even burn your entire life. Stop pretending you don’t want this. I’ll give you the world, Chase. You’ll never be on your own again. You’ll never doubt my devotion to you. I would never leave you like the others have. I’ll be your one constant.”

I enjoyed the plot along with the steamy romance and while a bit gruesome at times when Noah has to satisfy his violent side (not towards Chase), I think the author did a really nice job portraying these characters flaws as positives for each other. Overall, a steamy stalker romance with a HEA that worked for them.

"Stepping over the threshold, an odd feeling overtakes me that I've never felt before. This room suddenly feels pressurised like it's about to implode from the lack of oxygen. I watch as the man who can't be much older than me, stands and walks around the desk to approach me."

And so psychopath Noah gets his first look at therapist Chase, and that's all he needs to become his.

Syn Blackrose follows up her fabulous The Kozlov Brothers duet with another deep-dive into the criminal psyche in her third book, Craving the Chase.

Obsession. Co-dependency. Controlling and manipulative behaviour. Violence. Coercive sexual acts: Craving the Chase has all that and then some. So if you have any issues with dark, violent, dirty romance of this type, I strongly suggest you read the author's notes before diving in.

However, if you sometimes enjoy losing yourself to the dark side in your reading (like me!) you will absolutely adore Craving the Chase.

What to Expect:

❥MM dark romance
❥Therapist/psychopath stalker
❥Co-dependent MCs
❥"Touch him and die"
❥Deviant sexual behaviour
❥"Mine"
❥Spicy AF
❥Morally grey (to put it mildly!)

***ARC Review***

This is my honest and voluntary review for the ARC I received.

Y’all. This book is good. It’s definitely a *dark* romance and has some concerning moments, but it’s such a compelling and captivating read.
Blackrose does an excellent job of highlighting Noah’s dangerous nature, and the shadows have never been so inviting as they are in this story.

Noah is 25 years old and doesn’t have a great relationship with his parents. He also likes to take and keep images after unaliving people. Chase is a 28 year old therapist with a problematic ex-boyfriend. A condition in Noah’s grandfather’s will ends up with him and Chase crossing paths. Noah takes an instant liking (and obsession) to Chase.

Noah’s obsession with Chase is all-consuming. Noah’s manipulative tactics and desire for control should be a turn off, but they aren’t. While he attempts to resist, it simply pulls Chase further into Noah’s web. Noah and Chase have explosive chemistry. Their needs, desires, and passion is palpable. Noah’s protectiveness, possessiveness, and stalking is extremely appealing to Chase. There are gradual changes in Chase as their relationship becomes increasingly co-dependent. His moral compass is definitely a little skewed by the end of it all. Since Noah never had one, he gets everything he ever wanted - the object of his desire and obsession. It’s clear that their relationship isn’t healthy, but it works for both of them and it’s apparent how much they want (and choose) one another.

Blackrose gives you a lot to work with in terms of side characters in this book. Wade is a piece of work. Jane is a sweetheart. Liam is a good egg who can’t see past a bad thing. Tyler is a great support system and brother. Noah’s mother and father are truly terrible. Chase’s parents are absent, but powerful in how much they affected Chase.

While it’s apparent that Noah can’t love the way typical people do, the couple manage to tighten their connection and strengthen their relationship. Noah and Chase’s HEA is welcome and the epilogue is downright possessive. The way that they are tethered to one another is noteworthy. This story will definitely hold your attention and interest!

Make sure to check out the trigger warnings before you read this book, though.

Please be aware of the trigger warnings beforehand. It is a real dark romance with a strong psychological view. I enjoyed the simplicity and the complexity of their mind - for sure I wouldn’t want to meet Noah in a dark alley.

When a psychologist falls for his patient who is a st*lker and psych*path - what is going to happen? Well a lot of things.
From the beginning Chase spots all the red flags about Noah but there is this spark, this thing that calls to him - Chase is doing his best to fight it, will it be truly possible to fight against Noah?
From the moment Noah sees Chase, he marked him as his, he will do absolutely everything to protect him but also to make him accept him, he speaks to Chase’s darker side, the one which wants to be controlled, cared for. Noah has a plan and needs one will stand in his way, not even Chase’s ex or friends.

It was intense, especially to see the fight inside Chase, he knows that what’s happening is wrong, his conscience is trying to fight but seems unable to. It was also painful to see his family and friends trying to help him, even if it might not be the right way but they were so scared for him and they just love him. But Noah’s obsession, emprise is too far gone for Chase to be able to go against it. In a way they kind of balance each other, their dark sides calling for one another.

I received an ARC Copy of this book from the author, this review is from my own thoughts 😍

“I feel a rush of prickling heat spread up my spine. I want to smell him, bury my face in his neck and hair. He would look perfect tied up in my apartment. This is what they must mean by love at first sight. Except in my case, it's claiming at first sight.”

You can always count me in for a great stalker romance and this was that! The level of obsession in Noah was of epic proportions, Chase was just helpless against this psycho of a man. Syn brought her A-game writing this story.

Their meet gave me chills down my spine, the staring and heat swirling between them was palpable. The intensity in Noah’s character overpowered everything in Chase.

“He has baby blue eyes that I want to see crying in rivers of fear.
His mop of brown hair is thick and screaming to be pulled on.”

I love how you see both sides of the story, having Noah be so obvious in his stalking but how oblivious Chase is. Add in Wade, Noah’s father and you end up with one compelling story.

"You don't want normal. I know you. You want to be looked after, dominated, and protected. You want to feel alive, and I don't think you have felt more alive than when you have been with me. It was fate, Chase," I say, and his eyes soften.”

Where Noah’s antics were hot and had Chase confused. Them together was explosive and I was so there for it. Spice was most definitely on point. They complimented each other perfectly in their wants and needs.

Being with Noah made Chase a very different person from where he started, but where Liam saw it as a bad thing, I felt like he needed it. He needed this catalyst that turned him into who was always meant to be. Even if his morals had to chance to accommodate Noah, it felt right.

“My body has morphed into his fuck sleeve, open and ready for him and I don't want to be anywhere else.”

My highlighting game was high with this book, the adorable, obsessive things Noah would say just needed to be remembered. It had me laughing and a little obsessed with the man myself. I did love his name. Noah is a name, I feel, that often gets chosen for sweeter characters. Dark characters often get ‘tougher’ names, I liked that his name contradicts him, it suits him just as much as Chase calling him “his shadow”.

I had to hate Liam, even if he was Chase’ voice of reason. I had to side with Noah, and I didn’t want him to come between them. Now I sort of want him to have a taste of a psycho of his own, see how he would fare. (Wishful thinking – I just want more stalker books :p)

"Chase, I will never let you go. We live this life on earth together, and we will leave this world together. I will destroy anyone in our way. You come first. You're my lungs, baby. It's not love, it's obsession and desire. I have to own you fully."

I am very grateful to have received a complementary copy from the author in exchange for my honest review.

I fell in love with the author's writing style since her debut novel and I am amazed by how terrificly she writes dark MM romances. I rarely go for dark MM romances as it takes a lot for my mind to get into the mood but I have never felt the need to do that with Syn's books, I love all the characters she has written so far and this book was just another great addition.

* Please check trigger warnings before diving into this book *

This book was freaking amazing, the way I devoured this book and didn't even flinch at Noah's manipulative self ... I am shocked at myself.
Noah recently moved to town to collect his trust fund but he does not know that there is a stipulation to acquire it, for which he needs to meet Chase who is a therapist. Their chemistry had been sizzling since their first meeting and it just ignited more when they started fucking. Noah's possessive self and how unhinged he was, I liked his character a lot. Chase was another wonderful character, it was difficult for him to use his logic around but I could they were perfect for each other. I enjoyed reading about Noah's possessiveness, his manipulative behaviour and also how he took care of the people who came in between him and Chase.

Chase's friends were good characters but I didn't like how Liam behaved with him at the end, I know it came from a good place but still, he should have understood.

I highly recommend you read this book if you prefer dark MM romance and like unhinged characters.

*gestures* *points* *blushes*

If you're looking for a stalker romance that is SERIOUSLY DARK and deliciously depraved, LOOK NO FURTHER.

Holy shit was this book amazing. Noah was a red flag factory, and honestly, I was here for it. But trust me when I say this was a D-A-R-K story/love affair. And check the content warnings. This was not for the faint of heart.

And all of that was a compliment. I wanted to read a twisted psychopath love story, and that's exactly what I got.

Obsession
Possession

And not the cutesy kind. Like the *I want to open up your insides and weigh your organs kind* just to see how you work. But I can't, because you're mine.

The YOU'RE MINE of it all was lovely.

Chase is a therapist in a lonely, touch starved spot in his life. A chance meeting with a client, Noah, turns INSTANT chemistry that the characters [and me!] will never recover from. Again, that's a compliment.

My favorite: the visits at night 👀🫠 that's all Imma say. Wow.

This book was delightfully unhinged and perfect if you're wanting a true psychopath love story with some side plot.

Side note: reading Noah's pov was startling in its bluntness. So true to the characters personality, but still a whack to the head.

I thought these two quotes summed up both of the main characters pretty well.

"This is what they must mean by love at first sight. Except in my case, it's claiming at first sight."

"God, I want you so much," he whispers as he moves his hand to the back of my head and grips onto my hair. I lean into the warmth of the touch, so desperate to be held. The noise of the coffee shop has gone, all that's left is our breaths and heartbeats. The aura around us has shifted, and it confirms that Noah will forever change my life. It has yet to be seen if that will be positive or if it will destroy me, but as I sit here, watching this gorgeous man, it's hard to find any fucks to give."

Darkly wonderful

Goodness. Noah is so unapologetically….Noah. He is dark and broody and just does what he wants. I love that there was no attempted reformation of him. Chase, a little reluctantly, takes Noah as is.

Is this is super unhealthy relationship? For sure. Was is wonderfully delicious to read the unhinged thinking of Noah? Oh, absolutely.

This was a great little read.

This book was an absolute thrill to be part of making. Helping Syn to mold Noah into the possessive psychopath that has been released into the world. And really there was no limit to where this man was willing to take Syn and I. I love the inner workings of Syn's mind and her creativity because she brings to life characters on the pages that are so unapologetically themselves; there are red flags all throughout Craving The Chase and zero redemption here. And honestly, that's truly refreshing, there's no pretty pink bows wrapping everything up, everything is laid open and in disarray.

Chase—my sweet baby—was powerless when it came to the distortion of his world that came leather clad, tatted and spoke smooth lines and sweet lies in a cigarette and whiskey singed voice. Noah really was a hurricane of destruction that tore through all the well-placed walls Chase had built around himself since his traumatic childhood and toxic parents’ abandonment. Noah, like a shark smelling blood, sensed Chase's loneliness, touch starved desperation, and honed in on all his senses until there was only him.

Syn masterfully spun web, after web and we (the readers) could see all the traps, and pitfalls poor Chase could not, but like flies in a web—we were bound by the same spun silk—trapped and helpless to intervene.

Soaked in suspense and dripping in violence, Craving The Chase is an insidious poison perforating your blood stream, and infiltrating it with its toxins. It makes for highly addictive reading.

So I wasn’t sure what to rate this. It’s probably 4.25 stars, I couldn’t give it less than 4 simply because I loved Noah so much.

Noah is a complete psychopath. He tells it like it is, he possessive and controlling and always gets what he wants. In this case he wants his therapist, Chase.

Chase feels the chemistry between them but for obvious reasons is reluctant to let anything happen. He clearly sees that Noah is a psychopath after their first visit but something is still drawing him to Noah.

This book was basically comprised of Noah stalking Chase, Noah killing anyone that hurts Chase and sex scenes. That’s literally all it is which is probably why I couldn’t give it the full 5 stars. While I do love a good stalker romance i just wanted a little bit more of something!! Chase wasn’t exactly my favorite but Noah made up for it because I just loved how possessive and obsessive he was.

Chases ex showing up like every chapter was a little excessive but again Noah’s pov made up for it.

This book was better written than the authors first book, which I really liked also. I definitely want more of these obsessed characters!

Ver o Chase ser totalmente dependente do Noé me deixou angustiada.

Received the ARC but ended up DNF the book. Chase’s character is horrible and has no thought process. He’s supposed to be a therapist yet acts like he has no clue of the world and gets with red flag guys. Don’t even get me started on Noah. I’ve read a lot of dark romances and he is not even close to being a psychopath. He comes off like a whiny bored rich boy. And him having $20 million from his grandma that know one knew she had was reaching. That is the most unbelievable from this book. Also the spicy scenes were just eh from the few I read. And Chase thinking things like Alpha and must submit to him was cringey. Who says stuff like that if it isn’t a shifter book. And I didn’t like how each chapter ended the sentence with some big declaration. Like each chapter was the end of some dramatic soap opera. Just not for me at all.

AHHHH, I loved this. Noah's obssession with Chase was something else. Chase lived a pretty ordinary life and Noah just came in and changed literally everything in it including Chase himself. Noah is definitely morally grey and I was here for it. Chase was a cutie pie and I adored him. These two together should have had never worked but they did and I was here for it
