"The Secret Tomb" by author Allison Monroe beckons readers into a world of ancient mysteries, buried secrets, and archaeological intrigue. Set in the rugged landscapes of Egypt, the novel follows the journey of Dr. Catherine Bennett, an intrepid archaeologist, as she unearths a hidden tomb with the potential to rewrite history.
Maurice Leblanc (1864 - 1941) was a French novelist, best known as the creator of gentleman thief (later detective) Arsène Lupin.
Leblanc began as a journalist, until he was asked to write a short story filler, and created, more gallant and dashing than English counterpart Sherlock Holmes.
Would give 2.5 stars if I could. This was written at the time when Leblanc got tired of Lupin stories and tried to write something else. Those stories just didn’t capture the charm Lupin did.
Dnf. I didn’t persist with this for long as I had trouble following the story. I’m not sure if this was due to the quality of the LibriVox narration or the text itself.
