How long can a person resist temptation? Especially when it’s living under the same roof.
Theo Wilde had nowhere to go. A junior in college with no money to his name, he had no choice but to take his best friend, Ryder Calaway, up on his offer: to stay with him and his mom in Ryder’s childhood home.
The idyllic suburban neighborhood was the last place Theo expected to end up. And the last place he wanted to be.
Until her.
Natalie Calaway didn’t hesitate when her son asked if his best friend could stay with them for an indefinite period of time. All she knew was his name—Theo—and that he had nowhere else to go. Still, she wouldn’t say no.
Until she laid eyes on the man who invaded her house and realized she probably should have.
Two seconds in, and she already regretted her decision. Especially when Ryder receives the internship offer of a lifetime across the country. Leaving Theo and Natalie living alone.
And alone is a scary place to be.
Alone together, it’s harder—nearly impossible—to resist the intense, ever-growing attraction between them. Even if it’s bound to end horribly. Even if it’s messy and forbidden and wrong.
Grace Turner lives in Houston, Texas with her husband and two rambunctious pups and has a revolving door full of friends and family always visiting. By day, she works as a lowly paralegal, and by night she reads, writes, and breathes contemporary romance.
Somewhere to Stay gave me way more heat than I expected for a book that starts with someone basically fleeing their old life. The tension sparks fast — like, “we definitely shouldn’t be doing this but we absolutely are” fast — and the chemistry hits that perfect mix of emotional vulnerability and “wow, these two cannot keep their hands off each other.” The spice comes in hot and stays consistent, with scenes that feel intense, impulsive, and rooted in the characters trying to feel alive again. The plot has some solid stakes too: fresh baggage, messy decisions, and a new environment that doesn’t magically fix anything but definitely forces change. I liked that the drama didn’t drag; the story keeps moving, letting the romance (and the steam) push everything forward. A few moments felt a little too convenient, but honestly the vibe is addictive enough that I didn’t care.
well, Theo and Natalie, he dominated...she resisted and gave in... I loved it...I recommend it for Reverse Age Gap fans, these characters were wonderfully crafted... And the sex scennes, wow... powerful, realistic...
Well this was 🌶🌶🌶 SPICY! I actually thought halfway through the book that it might be a bit too much spice (things I've never said for 100 please) cause I totally forgot there was a storyline! 😅🥵 That being said, there is a storyline! 😁 This is a reverse age gap romance with some family drama. I think the ending wrapped things up a little too conveniently and a bit abruptly - with her son and then the lack of justice… Just trying to avoid spoilers by keeping it vague. 😉 I did enjoy reading it 😏 and I liked the preview of the next book in the series. That should be a fun read also!
*Provided a DRC (digital review copy) from the publisher for review. All opinions are my own.
Grace Turner blew it out of the water again! The characters are so well developed throughout the story. I’m completely obsessed with Theo and this relationship! The plot AND *the plot* 🫠😏 are both SO well written! Ready for another book! Keep them coming, please!
Théo: Quiet junior in college who has no where to go so he stays with his friend Ryder & his mom. He works at a tattoo parlor while he goes to school during the day.
Natalie: mom to Ryder who she had in high school. Newly divorced after getting married to Ryder’s dad in high school & it just not being what she wants.
Natalie had Ryder when she was in high school & recently divorced Ryder’s dad after deciding it just wasn’t what she wanted. Theo is Ryders Best friend who needed a place to stay & Ryder insisted his house. Right after Theo moved in, Ryder got the internship of a lifetime & left. The Story follows Natalie & Theo who had an instant attraction, but knew from the start it was a forbidden romance. Will it blow up in there face? Definitely. Will it make them stop? Not a chance.
My anxiety was through the roof this whole book. You just KNOW from the start this will blow up in their face but it’s a train wreck you cannot tear your eyes from. The steam & spice 🥵 I usually prefer a nice slow burn/enemies to lovers so this was a nice change from my usual read. I’m obsessed with Theo & his dominance. That man just bleeds “fuck me” vibes. Great story, amazing spice & cannot wait to see Ryders story next!

Thank you Netgalley and the publisher for this ARC in exchange for an honest review.
What I liked: - The degradation - always a win for me. Definitely on the lighter side but still enjoyable. - The smut in general was good, even if it got a little repetitive after a while. - Theo. He’s 100% book boyfriend material.
What I didn't like: - That whole holiday scene with the neighborhood gathering at Caroline’s house?? Natalie invited Theo yet they didn’t interact at all? He just sat there watching her while she talked to Caroline about his 🍆 It felt unnecessary and kinda icky. - The situation with Theo's mom made me so angry. I was seething the entire time and the fact that there was no real resolution with that bitch??? Unforgivable. - The whole police situation was weird af. I was genuinely confused reading that part. - The babygirl nickname... I died a little inside every time he said it. This term of endearment needs to be banned from existence. - The epilogue. Absolutely hated it. The author used it to sell the second book. No. If you want to tease the next book, put it after the ending, not as the epilogue. That made me irrationally angry.
Theo carried this entire book on his back. Natalie pissed me off more times than I can count, which is wild considering she's 37 and you'd expect a little more maturity from her. There were definitely some good moments but some of the plot choices felt unnecessary. I'll probably still read the next book lol but this one left me more frustrated than anything.

Grace Turner went above and beyond with Natalie and Theo. Natalie is more than willing to let her son Ryders best friend stay with them while on break from college. Theo walks in and you can FEEL the immediate chemistry between Theo and Natalie and its only so long (hehe) before they can’t help themselves anymore. Natalie is a strong, bubbly, talkative fmc while Theo is a brooding, tattooed, quiet man who only lets few people see the real him. I walked into this book knowing it was going to be smutty, but I was not expecting the amount of smut that I was going to be reading (In a good way) I think I highlighted more in this book than I ever have before. The epilogue is also a must read (I knew Ryder was hiding his own dirty little secret).
4.5 stars!! Holy smokes! This book has spice on top of spice; but boy was it a great love story as well. Ryder brings his friend Theo home from college, who has no where else to live. When Ryder leaves for an internship, Theo and Natalie( Ryder's mom) can't deny feelings they have for each other. What starts as innocent flirting leads to some intense scenes. This story unfolds effortlessly, allowing you to witness two consenting adults, who don't know if what they are doing is right or wrong, fall for each other. The romance is so sweet and I love that more authors are doing the reverse age gap trope! I love it and when reading this book I was there for it when Natalie found herself again. Also, I had a feeling Ryder has his own secrets and the epilogue confirmed that! I can't wait for his book! Would definitely recommend this book!
Thanks to NetGalley and Grace Turner for allowing me to review this ARC!
-Reverse age gap -Bestfriends Mom -Loads of spice🌶🌶🌶
23yr old Théo is a quiet junior in college who was just kicked out by his roommate with nowhere to go. His best friend Ryder & his mom offer him a place to stay. He works at a tattoo parlor while he goes to school during the day.
37yr old Natalie had Ryder at 16 while she was still in high school. Just newly divorced after getting married to Ryder’s dad right after high school. Now she’s ready to live the life she deserves.
Holy Moly now that’s a lot of spice🥵. The two MC’s deal with their past working through them together in this heated drama.
I liked the preview of the next book in the series. That should be fun!!
THEO!!!!!🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🥵🥵🥵🥵 One of the best book I've read in 2024
This book was too good!!!!🥵🥵🥵 “Tell me I don’t hold your pleasure in my hands, Natalie,” he growled down at me. “You would let me do anything I wanted to you because you’re so desperate to be f***** by me.”
"I thought I was in control. But I was sorely mistaken. Because with every second we were connected, the more she wrapped herself around every inch of me. Inside and out."
😭😭😭😭😭😭
This book...OMFG!!!!!
“You,” I said through a shuttered breath, brushing my thumb over her bottom lip like I could feel her joy. “You are everything I didn’t know I wanted and everything I wished I could be good enough for.” Her mouth slid open to argue, but I stopped her with a quick shake of my head. “You make me feel good enough,” I said softly. “You make me want things I never imagined for myself, and like hell am I giving that up. I want to make you come so fucking hard you forget your name. I want to wake up beside you every morning and plan the future. Our future. I want to be the one to put that smile on your face.”
“Baby girl, you are everything to me. You’ve given me somewhere I want to stay.”

Son’s BFF x BFF’s mom is ELITE when it comes to older woman age gap books. I loved every second of this book - ate it up in a DAY. Honestly, I didn’t expect this book to be as spicy as it was for this genre/trope! And I’m not mad about it 😂
My Review: Somewhere to Stay by Grace Turner is book #1 in what looks to be a new age gap series.
About the Book: Theo Wilde needs a place to crash. His best friend did him a solid by letting him stay with him and his mother. The first time he sees her, he knows he is in danger of crossing a line and going past the point of no return.
Natalie Calaway is ready for a change. She's released excess baggage from her life and is entering a new phase of self discovery. As soon as she feels the electric pull towards her son's best friend, she knows she's in trouble.
My Final Say: 🚨🚨🚨🌶🌶🌶🔥🔥🔥💣💣💣
Umm...👆 This one is a thirst trap and then some. Even though you think you can handle it, you probably can't. 😲
Based on the epilogue, it would appear that another story might be just around the corner. It certainly didn't pull any punches on what comes next.
Other: Be sure to read the author's note. This is for mature audiences only.
Questions That Remain:
- Will Theo's mom try something else?
- Will Theo's other family members, particularly his brother, make a return?
- Will the bad cop get reprimanded in any way?
- What comes next for Theo, Natalie, and Ryder?
- Will action or danger be a part of what happens going forward?
Rating: 4.25/5 Recommend: +/- Audience: A Status: M Level: 🚨 Triggers: Yes Other: Spice Erotica involving OWYM
Thank you to the author and to NetGalley for granting access to a digital ARC of this title in exchange for an honest review.
Reverse Age gap Forbidden Romance Son's best friend Angst Insta love Forced proximity
To begin with, this book has loads of spice. It says age gap, but when you read, you forget the the woman is the older one. I was lost in this book. Their pasts, the storyline, the way every little thing was unfolded in this story was illustrated perfectly.
Theo is described as a sexy, mascular man who has tattoos all over his body. When he meets his best friend's mother, he instantly feels an attraction towards her. Theo has his monsters chasing him and cannot involve others in his life but he cannot let this woman go. Really loved the way he claimed the woman he loved. I could imagine his voice in my head whenever he got possessive.
Natalie is a divorced woman and as it may sound, she is not too old. She feels a connection to her son's best friend. And when she gets to know about his difficult past, she cannot let him leave to struggle finding roof above his head. She is a very confident and fierce. Would have loved to se her taking more dominant role in this book
But to me, personally, while reading, it just gave me more of single mother, brother's best friend vibes. My expectations before starting this book were her taking more dominance but overall the story was perfect. And I am really excited about Ryder's book now.
Oh my, my, my. Reverse age gap, SPICY SPICY SPICY. Theo is a VERY confident young man and damn does it show. I’m a sucker for forbidden romance and this book has it in SPADES. Theo and Natalie are addicted to each other, and even though she is older he definitely takes the lead.
Shaming/degradation: Theo and Natalie are very dedicated to the use of shaming, name calling, degradation. This is normally an “ick” for me but somehow Theo makes me question my entire belief system. Natalie is *his* in every way and the way he uses these words is not meant to make her seem weak or disgusting. He is always checking on her and caring for her. So, take Grace’s dedication to heart! “To anyone who thinks being called a sl*t in the bedroom doesn’t sound like a good time. Theo is here to prove you wrong.”
The epilogue has me waiting rather impatiently for book 2!
Grace Turner’s first series, Murphy’s Law, is my sweet spot—a nice crispy Jalapeño (especially books 1 and 3). Somewhere to Stay is a Habanero, without a doubt!
Okay, where do I even start?! This book took me on a wild, emotional, and spicy ride. We’ve got a 23-year-old guy — silent, broody, carrying the weight of a traumatic past, freshly homeless, and moving in with his best friend’s family. Sounds simple? Wrong. Enter: his best friend’s mom. Fourteen years older, with her own painful history (pregnant as a teen, kicked out, married for the wrong reasons). And boom, shared trauma + forbidden attraction = pure tension and healing magic.
This is the first time I’ve read a reversed age-gap romance where she’s older, and honestly? It gave deliciously complex mommy issues vibes (in the best AND messiest ways). There’s secrecy, guilt, stolen glances — all while they’re both low-key terrified the son/best friend will find out. And through it all, they become each other’s safe space.
A reverse age gap and best friend’s MOM.. say no more
This follows Theo and Natalie. Theo is down on his luck and needs a place to stay and his best friend, Ryder, offers him to stay at his house. Ryder then gets a new position that he can't pass up and ends up leaving so it is just Theo and Natalie staying together. The tension in this.. And the first spicy scene in this was insane. Theo and Natalie were so hot together and there was a lot of smut in this book and I honestly could’ve had more. Also the epilogue, CANNOT wait for the next book
This was a very spicy forbidden romance that made me nervous but I was all in! It’s one of those books that sinks its teeth into you and won’t let go. Theo was hot and controlling and if you love that sort of thing then you’re going to love this. Thanks NetGalley and Grace Turner for gifting me this eArc!
It’s been a min since I read a reverse age gap, so I had a fun time reading this! It kind of gave off wattpad vibes but honestly I was here for it. I thought there was a good amount of tension between the two, and seeing the buildup and how it came together made sense! Quick read with a good plot :)
Tropes: forced proximity, reverse age gap (14 years), son’s best friend, opposites attract, mutual pining, secret relationship
One of my favorites of the year so far, absolutely scorching hot and a really great storyline. I do wish they followed up with mommy dearest but it wasn't necessary. Immediately going into book 2 about Ryder- I am a big fan of Turner now. Natalie and Theo's banter and chemistry will be living rent free in my head for a good long while.
This book surprised me in the best way. I quite enjoyed these characters and the way their relationship develops. The whole book is HOT 🥵 I was not expecting it but loved every minute of it!
Quick, easy, SPICY read! Age gap Romance (older woman this time). I Didn’t love the name calling but she didn’t mind it so 🤷🏼♀️. This was my 5th book by this author and won’t be my last. Waiting on the sequel to this one ❤️
The Praise: I really loved this! Theo and Natalie were so sweet together and I was glad they both found happiness in each other after living tough lives. The spice was also 🔥🔥🔥. I liked that it subverted the usual age gap dynamic by making the older character the submissive.
The Critique: I was hoping to see Theo’s mom get her comeuppance but maybe we’ll get that in the background of the next book? I also didn’t love that the epilogue was entirely unrelated to Natalie and Theo. I understand wanting to set up the next standalone (and I’m excited for Ryder’s book!) but just add a bonus chapter or something rather than robbing readers of more content about the characters they’re already invested in.
Final Thoughts: This was very nearly a perfect book in my opinion! I’m excited to look into more of Grace’s work!
I received an ARC in exchange for my honest review.
Sooo good! I don’t often read these tropes and more modern ones in general. I’m so glad it had a happy ending but not a super sappy one. Perfection.
Spice: 3.5/4 🌶️ so much sex but not trashy kind and there was blossoming romance that you could clearly see.
****I received an advance copy of this book for review purposes. While I was provided with a copy, a review was never required, and all opinions are my own.

What do you do when the tall, sinfully gorgeous man covered in tattoos is your new house guest? What do you do when this man.....is your son's best friend?
I DEVOURED this book! If I could rate this book 10 stars I would in a heartbeat. I haven't read to many reverse age gaps...(yes you read that right)...REVERSE age gap. I think I've read only 2-3 but, they don't compare to Grace's writing.
We meet Theo, who's 23...he goes to college during the day and at night he works at a tattoo parlor. He's quiet and keeps to himself, he's been on his own since he was 17. He didn't have the best childhood. His father and older brother left because their mom was a huge gambler and got in WAY too much trouble and always gave away their money and possessions. So, Theo moved out and has only had himself to rely on EXCEPT his best friend Ryder.
Ryder tells Theo that he can live at his and his mom, Natalie's house since he doesn't have anywhere to go. Theo's first instinct is to run because he doesn't like to rely on other people or feel like he's getting in the way BUT he does it for Ryder. Ryder get's Theo all set up at home, even though Natalie got his room already for him. Theo's never met Ryder's mom before, but all he hopes for is that she doesn't hate him too much for crashing at their house.
Natalie who's 37.. had Ryder very young, which led to her parent's kicking her out of the house, her boyfriend at the time (now ex-husband) was going to break up with her but stayed because she was pregnant. His parent's took her in. She was married to Mark, but their marriage was a love-less one. They raised Ryder together and gave him the best childhood they could and then decided to finally get a divorce. Natalie has a best friend Caroline WHO I LOVE so much. Caroline is a couple year's younger than her but when I say I want this woman as my best friend, I mean it. I want to drink wine together and talk about the hot, sexy tattoo man that's now living in my house. lol
When Theo and Natalie lock eyes for the first time there's an instant attraction towards one another and both of them aren't quite sure how to deal with those feelings. So they do what everyone does when things get a little awkward and they choose to ignore it. The tension and angst gets a little more intense when Ryder gets a call that the internship he applied for accepted him, and now he'll be leaving the next day and going to a different state.
When Theo finds out Natalie has the same feelings he does, does Theo ignore that? ohhhh no..Theo lets Natalie know all the dirty thoughts he has for her. When I say the spice is spicy I mean it's SPICY. I had to put my kindle down a couple of times just so I could take a breath because this "quiet man" isn't so quiet when it comes to having Natalie in the bedroom.. or on the kitchen counter...or basically any surface in the house. He lets her know allllll the filthy things he's thinking and I loved every minute of it.
One of her "punishments" "This little toy has thirteen different vibration settings, each on stronger than the last. You're going to come for me thirteen times. One orgasm for each setting. And after each orgasm, you're going to thank me because it's f*cking polite."
As much as I love all the sexy times, I honestly was obsessed with their relationship. Grace did such a great job just making you feel everything they were feeling. Theo went from house guest.. to lover.. to Natalie being IN love with him and she showed Theo everyday how much she cared so he always knew she wouldn't be like everyone else who left him.
Don't think for one second though that they just get together and that's it. There's unexpected drama that happens that had me sitting on the edge of my seat. There's heartbreak...and guilt. Does Ryder find out about his best friend being with his mom? How would he react? What ever happened to Theo's mom? Does he see his brother again? What will people say when they find out they're together? Will people accept their relationship? Will they get married and have kids? There's all these questions that they face and make sure their feelings are more than just lust and if it's worth it being together.
Thank you so much Grace for letting me read Theo and Natalie's story. They hold a special place in my heart. You are so kind and sweet and I can tell how much love you put into their story. You already got me addicted to your Murphy's Law series! I can't wait to read all your future books. You deserve all the love!
‼️ While this book could be read as a standalone, this is book 1 of the Someone, Somewhere series.

𝕄𝕪 𝕋𝕙𝕠𝕦𝕘𝕙𝕥𝕤: Wowzers. I instantly became obsessed with this book as soon as I started it. I can't even begin to tell y'all how good this book was!😍
If you are a fan of reverse age gap, then this book is for you. If you aren't, then you should really give this book a chance! Natalie and Theo were definitely not what I expected them to be. 👀
The way the author wrote both characters and allowed us readers to see the intimacy they had for each other was phenomenal! I'm not talking physical intimacy, even though they had that by the handful. I'm talking about the kind of intimacy where the characters could be themselves around each other and to be able to express their needs without fear of rejection. I SWOONED with all the aftercare!!!🫠
A big thank you to NetGalley and Xpresso Book Tours for the ARC! Grace, I'm really really looking forward to Ryder's book!❤️
Somewhere to Stay by Grace Turner is a book I will be recommending to everyone! Everything about this book was amazing.
Theo is a quiet, keeps to himself, and gorgeous man who is covered in tattoos. He doesn’t give up more information about himself than he wants them to know. Theo is a junior in college and has been on his own since he was 17 years old. Theo’s mom is a gambler and his dad and brother both left not wanting to deal with his mom's mess anymore. He has had to figure everything out on his own. His best friend Ryder invites him to stay at his house with him and his mom. At first, he was too thrilled for that, but he had nowhere else to go.
Natalie is a 37-year-old divorced mother to Ryder. She was kicked out of her house for getting pregnant with Ryder at a young age. She ended up marrying her ex-husband and things were great for a while until they grew apart. Natalie was happy to let her son’s friend move in with them even though she was sure she knew what it was like to not have a place to go to.
Ryder who is Natalie’s son was offered an internship across the county. He didn’t get the call until they had got home and unpacked. Both Natalie and Ryder told him he had to take it. Which he did, leaving Natalie and Theo to live together and get to know each other.
Man did that turn hot and heavy quickly! From the start of the book, you can instantly feel the connection between Theo and Natalie, even though they both want to deny it. The book was well thought out and so detailed. Let’s not forget about the spicy scenes either!! They were everything and you could tell other than s*x the two had great chemistry. This book kept me engaged until the end and I want to read the next book with Ryder! I finished this book quickly and it was hard to put down. The connection with the characters and the plot of the book kept me diving in for more. I was sad when it ended because I wasn’t ready for it to end.
Thank you, NetGalley, for allowing me to read this ARC. Thank you, Grace Turner, for creating such a well-written book! I can’t wait to continue to read other books by you!
Somewhere to Stay by Grace Turner Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️.5 Release Date: 16 March 2024 POV: Dual Tropes: Reverse age gap, slow burn, son’s best friend, forced proximity, divorcee, insta-lust, forbidden romance.
Honestly, I took one look at the description and cover for this book and I was game. It’s literally been one of the only books I’ve requested on Netgalley this year that I have been waiting on edge to see whether I got or not. Overall, it did not disappoint and it was an easy read.
Ryder’s best friend, Theo, needs a place to say, so hey, why doesn’t he come stay with Ryder and his mom, Natalie, until Theo is able to get back on his feet.
Sounds simple enough.
Nope.
Not even a couple of hours after arriving, Ryder is informed that he got an intern with NASA and was leaving the next day. Which in turn, leaves Theo and Natalie up to their own devices. Their chemistry is immediate… and I mean immediate. There is absolutely no doubt left in anyone’s mind that they both want to jump each other’s bones, but the problem is of course Ryder being Natalie’s son and Theo’s best friend. (Also where was the emotion between the two of them. It was all purely just so physical?) In my opinion, the whole Ryder issue was just so incredibly drawn out. Like come on, we’re all adults, just tell the man.
I wanted to give this book a higher rating, but unfortunately things like this I just struggled with.
And although Natalie was an easy character to get to grips with, I know that she fell pregnant young and all that, but for someone who has worked their way up the corporate ladder and all that jazz, there were a few points where I was like are you 37 or 17? And maybe that was just me, but hey ho.
Theo’s character I found a bit wobbly in the beginning, but boy did he just shine for the remainder of the book.
Thank you to NetGalley and Xpresso Book Tours for an ARC!
