In His Father's Son, Luke met and fell in love with Anna twelve years ago, and they had a son together. Luke got to see his son and hold him once before Anna's father talked her into signing adoption papers and forcing Luke out of their lives. Now, Luke has discovered that his son was never placed for adoption, and he wants to meet him and get to know him, and be the father his son wants. Luke has never stopped loving Anna. Anna never tried to get in touch with Luke after he left the hospital. She listened to her father, and decided Luke didn't love her or their son enough to stay. Now, when Luke returns, she can't forgive or forget. When news of Luke's past comes out before he can tell her, she's sure she's made the right decision in sending him away again. However, when Josh's life is on the line, she realizes just how wrong she's been for far longer than twelve years. Now, when she finally realizes that she's let fear control her life, and that the reason she's never been the Christian she's wanted to be is because she doesn't trust God, will it be too late when she realizes that God and Luke are both worthy of her trust??

In His Healing Touch, Lainie and Adam meet when he's a patient after being wounded in war, and she's his nurse. They haven't seen each other in almost a year when she arrives in Sweetapple Falls needing her motorcycle checked out. Adam's cousin, Tom, calls Adam to check the bike out. Adam tells Lainie that the engine needs to be rebuilt, and it could take up to three weeks, as they'll have to send it to CA. Lainie's not sure she can take being in Sweetapple Falls that long, as the town and Adam are stealing her heart. The time with Lainie has Adam looking at his situation differently, and he finally comes to realize that his situation can be better by an attitude adjustment on his part, along with trusting God to bring good out of it. When Lainie leaves, she finally realizes she's just been running away, not just from Adam, but from God, and that she's never really let God have control of her life. She fixes that, and then wonders if it's too late to tell Adam. Lainie comes to learn, it's never too late to run to love, instead of away. God is always there, waiting for us to come to Him, and is always willing to take us back!

In His Radiant Bride, Tom's ex-wife drops their daughter off without any kind of explanation. Tom doesn't mind having Ava, he just doesn't know his daughter as well as he should. Rusty met Tom six months ago, when she arrived in town, and now is trying to help him with his daughter, whom she met when she came to her Sunday school class. Tom has wanted to date Rusty, but Rusty knows she's not good enough. Ava is angry, hurt, and afraid, and at ten is acting out, as she can't process all that has happened. Rusty and Tom hatch a plan to get married to help Ava, though Tom wants it to be a real marriage. Rusty knows she wants the marriage to be real, but she's afraid of being hurt. The closer these two grow, the more they both want the marriage to be real. As the Rusty and Tom both grow to understand more about God's love for them, and the bitterness Tom needs to let go of, and the love Rusty needs to accept from God, the more they both realize they can trust God to give them their desires.

His Father’s Son
When Luke Tanner discovers his former girlfriend, Anna Harrison didn’t give up their child for adoption twelve years ago, he took a leave from his mission job and returned to Sweetapple Falls to be a father to his son. Anna didn’t trust him to stay around until he had proven himself to both her and their disabled son, but he was determined to do all he could to win them over. A wonderful story about heartache, faith, forgiveness, and redemption.

His Healing Touch
After Lainie Sullivan’s father died, she took up his dream to travel by motorcycle to every state to raise funds for the charity in her mother’s memory. When her motorcycle breaks down in Sweetapple Falls, she discovers her former patient and former Army medic, Adam Davis who is discouraged after having his leg amputated. Working on her motorcycle and interacting with Lainie turns his attitude around. An uplifting story about loss, grief, and moving on with the help of God.

His Radiant Bride
Rusty, a local schoolteacher who had a bad childhood, befriends Ava who was left by her mother with her Dad, Tom. Ava's having a hard time adjusting to the changes in her life. Rusty and Tom decide to enter a marriage is convenience in order to help Ava. A heartwarming book about relationships, forgiveness, and the love of God. Definitely a must read!

His Father's Son
Anna Harrison is a single mom to 10 year old Josh, who is confined to a wheelchair because of muscular dystrophy. More than anything Josh wants a father.

Who is Luke Tanner? Can he redeem his past with Anna?

His Healing Touch
Lainie Sullivan, after losing both her mom and dad to cancer, was on a cross-country motorcycle trip. Her plan was to stop in every contiguous state to raise money for a cancer phone center. The purpose of the phone center was to assist patients and their families with cancer related issues or questions.

She started having trouble with her motorcycle so she detoured to the closest town, Sweetapple Falls, Oregon. There she reconnects with a former patient, Adam Davis.

What hurdles face Lainie and Adam?

His Radiant Bride
Rebecca "Rusty" Matthews and Tom Davis enter into a platonic marriage to help Ada Davis, a troubled 10 year old.

Can they overcome the "friends only" relationship and have a happy-ever-after ending?

All three of these stories are clean, inspirational, Christian romances. Each book is a standalone story but all take place in Sweetapple Falls, Oregon.

I was given an ARC of this set of books from BookFunnel at the request of the author, Autumn Macarthur, but this review is my honest opinion given voluntarily.

So far, this is the only book I have finished from the set, but I look forward to reading the other two.

It is Very Good. The most important aspect for me in any work of fiction is the spiritual content. I don’t want to waste my time reading a book that has no Christian content. Autumn Macarthur’s books do not disappoint. This book included elements of talking to God and seeking His will. Topics of forgiveness, both of yourself and others, and true repentance were also an integral part of the story.

Tom has a daughter who needs a mom. Rusty cannot have children but longs for a family. She already loves Tom’s daughter and secretly cares for him as well. Can they make a marriage of convenience the real deal?

My favorite quote is “Being a real dad is about love.”

I received a free copy of this book from the author. My review is voluntary and unbiased.

His Radiant Bride is a sweet, heartwarming, inspiring, Christian romance. Tom and Rusty set aside past hurts to provide Ava with a stable home. This well written book held me prisoner until I reached the end. I am always amazed at how God and Ms. Macarthur work things out for everyone. This book has a precocious ten year old, a tiny house on wheels, lots of heart, warmth and love. I hope you are as captivated as I was.

I was startled to find that despite owning the other two books in this set, I have not read them. I need to fix that situation soon. I have never read one of Ms. Macarthur’s books that I did not love.

A very intense romance.

This was a very interesting story of people not sure who they are and searching how to be who they would like to be . it includes complex challenges in their lives and searching to find God's help to solved all their doubts and fears. I truly learn something about how to find God's direction to make our lives so much better.

Sweet-apple Falls book 1-3

I really enjoyed each book in this series. Autumn wrote the stories so a reader gradually understands the message as the personalities are developed.
I would not recommend that the books are read out of order because each novel builds on the next on.

difficult topics

MacArthur handled difficult topics, disability, infertility, addiction, and divorce with tact, realism, enough detail to inform but not overwhelm. Well done. Enjoyable read!

Autumn MacArthur has written an excellent faith-based romance in His Radiant Bride. It's good to return to Sweet Apple Falls although it is not necessary to have read the other books in the series to enjoy this one. Tom and Rusty (Rebecca) are life-like characters with real problems and not always the best answers or attitudes towards them. I like how these characters are developed throughout the book. I enjoyed reading about their faith and how they applied it to their issues. Forgiveness was a big one.
His Healing Touch ends on a joyful note with many others scattered throughout the book, but it doesn't fail to address the hard parts of life as well. Adam Davis was an Army medic whose identity was wrapped up in being just that. When an IED takes away the ability to do any job in the Army, he loses hope. Nurse Lainie Sullivan is raising funds for cancer care as she rides her father's vintage motorcycle to each of the contiguous states. What happens when she realizes that the bike isn't running right and stops at a small town to get it repaired? I loved the characters and the town of Sweet Apple Falls! It's the epitome of a fantastic small town to live in. There is a wonderful HEA for Adam and Lainie.
His Father's Son is a second-chance romance grabbed my heartstrings and played away. I love the main characters, Anna and Luke and their son Josh. Luke and Anna made some serious mistakes in their relationship in their teens, but now both want the best for Josh. Oh, Josh! The funny and bright twelve year old with muscular dystrophy will capture your heart. Reading about the relationships between father and son and between Anna and Luke and the relationship between each of them and God is compelling. I got teary-eyed in a section of the story in which forgiveness and restoration takes place. I can't recommend His Father's Son highly enough. It's a definite "Don't miss this one!"
Whatever Autumn MacArthur writes is always a must read for me. I recommend this set to clean/wholesome romance readers, readers that enjoy small-town romances, and readers of Christian romance.
I read these books individually. I own one, I borrowed one from Kindle Unlimited, and I received a complimentary copy of one.
