I got this book because I am trying to improve my chess game as I feel my son is starting to beat me in it! I am just an amature player and I feel this book is the right level for me to teach me the different strategies to get ahead of the game. I also like the mental game aspect and how the book also mentions literature on chess, like the queen's gambit. One thing I would love to see is if the book had diagrams on strategies rather than describe it on page. I am a very visual person so I think this might be useful.
This excellent book leads the reader free m absolute beginnings to advanced principles and tournament psychology. Complete with worksheets, summaries and opening recommendations, this is a rare example of a chess book that succeeds without diagrams. Its verbal clarity and incremental structure make it an excellent accompaniment to more concrete primers.
