Dante

Being born a Valentino means there’s nothing I can’t get. We are royalty in this school.

Nobody fucks with us. Nobody ever says no.

Until she came waltzing through the hallways with her barely there skirt and white button-up blouse.

I took one look at her and knew she’d be mine. She doesn’t know the rules yet, but she’ll learn.

Nobody tells me what I can and can’t have. Not even her.

Josie

Scoring a scholarship to New York Prep is the beginning of my future. I worked my ass off to get here. I belong here.

At least I hope if I keep telling myself that, I’ll finally start to believe it.

As I stroll through the halls of this elite school with its overindulged occupants, I can’t help but feel like I’ll never belong. I have a plan though.

Keep my head down. Don’t stand out.

That is until I gain the attention of the school’s king, Dante Valentino. No matter how much he thinks he can claim me, I’ll never allow myself to belong to anyone.

Especially him.

These Valentino men are really something—a very obsessed, persistent, bulldozing something. 😂 I have to suspend disbelief to enjoy it. Not that it's difficult to enjoy, but some parts of this novella are just too absurd.

We have the MCs, Dante and Josie, both 16-year-old high school students. He's the king in this prep school, obviously a hoe, and Josie is the orphaned scholarship student, innocent and would rather be invisible.

But for some reason, Dante got fixated on her and ended up obsessing over her for two months, and one month of it was stalking her (his family was in Italy, so he followed her through social media accounts).

When they got back, he made it very clear that she was his and no one should mess with her. I would like to say that she held her ground, but not even three days with Dante's bulldozing ways; she already caved in, and they've exchanged ILYs. Maybe it has been growing for the last two months, idk.

Then Dante ended up becoming a made man at 16 for killing Josie's former foster parent, who tried to sneak into her room when she was living with him. And Josie ended up getting adopted by Dante's uncle and aunt because they wanted to protect her and had already accepted her as part of the family.

This has a HFN ending, and there's no spice, thank God. I don't think I'll be able to stomach it if they ever do it. They're so young; I'll definitely be fine with them doing the deed when they're 18.

Anyway, I liked it and enjoyed it. Most especially Dante; he was one relentless and dedicated guy, that's for sure. 😂

I think my copy was missing about 10 chapters or a whole other book? This weirdly starts in the middle of a story. The hero is already all in and has been for a while… and the heroine… isn’t. Until she starts kissing him out of the blue. This makes no sense. She’s calling and telling her friend she wants forever with the H literally 1 day after he claims her. The hero has been simping and stalking and pining…. Not really sure why though since he ends it all just by bulldozing. Why didn’t he do that before? I’m confused. Why did he get suspended for looking for her address in school records but can have all her foster care records at his finger tips in a matter of minutes? The math isn’t mathing.

Oh. And they’re 16. 🫠

This was dumb.

This was a quick and cute read.
Josie and Dante have good tension and I liked the way she stands her ground against him. He is head over heels in love with Josie and fights to get her heart. I liked their banter and it was funny most of the times.
We get to meet the Valentino family from time to time and their just a crazy bunch of criminals.
It was a little unusual that the main characters are underage but the author did this well. There is nothing inappropriate and it was cute to read about this teenage love.

Dante Valentino is back after a month away and his sole focus is Josie. The girl who has stolen his heart and not given him the time of day. Dante is going to convince Josie they belong together but she has walls up that he plans to break down piece by piece. Can he prove to Josie he is worth a chance?

This was a lot of fun. Josie is feisty and the dialogue was great between the two. Ending is a bit abrupt but I am hoping their are more books for the other characters in the series.

The Family

I am in love with this Valentino family. Dante is perfection, slightly possessive and obsessive in the best way. I can see that Josie is going to blossom into a fierce Mafia Queen in future novels (please make this happen).

Off to read some more by Kylie 📖

Dante is part of the Valentino Heirs Novella and follows Dante & Josie's story. Dante is a third generation Valentino. He is the son of Romeo & Olivia. Josie is a scholarship student at New York Prep. She also lives with her foster mom.

If you've read the Valentino Reunion, this book picks up after the events in that book. Dante is obsessed with Josie to the point of stalking her. He didn't take no for an answer. Josie is attracted to Dante but she is in denial about it. It was actually funny how she is very possessive of him but says she doesn't like him.

It was great to see all the Valentino characters especially the third generation (except for Lorenzo). The third generation are more unhinged than the second gen even the girls. I hope to see more stories about them!

It just feels so rushed. Sure, I could feel his infatuation for her, but on her part…

We already started in the middle of their story. but it still started with her absolutely disliking this guy, doing everything to get away from him. So…I was so confused why she’d keep kissing him, or initiating kisses out of NOWHERE when maybe five pages ago she was going on about keeping him away. There were no thought processes on her part that emphasized enough on the confusion she was going through or to indicate she wanted him in that way in the beginning.

The fact this whole book happened in a span of three days…THREE. You know what i can do in three days? So little 😭 wdym this guy managed to convince this girl to fall in love with him, meet his family, deal with school drama, unalive a guy, had a mafia initiation, attend family dinners, get her adopted by his family, while also going to school + girlie doing homework to keep up that 3.9 GPA for scholarship?

Also i didn’t even realize they were SIXTEEN.

That ending though — his aunt and uncle ended up adopting her, making them cousins and that’s all okay? 😀. Theyre rich and powerful, they would have found another solution, im sure.

Only finished cause it was short and I’m a fast reader 😭

Teenagers

I didn’t realize Dante and Josie were only sixteen and still in high school. We get no physical description of either of them. This wasn’t much of a story. Dante claims her in front of the whole school, his uncle adopts her to get her out of foster system, the end. No intimacy between the two teenagers.

What in the wattpad

The first chapter started weird already but it got better along the way, but maybe that’s because i haven’t read any of the other books.

They went from dating to being step cousins.. but still dating

Other than that it was okay

The heirs are here and if A Valentino Reunion didn't give you enough then you're going to be as happy as I am.

Dante is Romeo and Livy's son and he's 16. That doesn't matter though because he's met the one and he's going to make her his, even if she's not on board with that plan.

Dante is as cocky as the rest of the Valentino men. He's got brains as well and they might get him into trouble sometimes. He also has that, "touch her and die/she's mine" thing happening. Despite that he's only 16 the boy has swagger. He was easy to like, he was fun and he was all Valentino.

He falls for the shy/scholarship student who just wants to keep her head down and have nothing to do with him. Like a red rag to a bull that only makes Dante look closer and what he sees he likes.

Josie Anderson is that girl. She's in foster care and she needs to be at New York Prep to have a chance to get out of the life she has been forced into. She wants nothing more than to get through school and move on with her life. She's smart and sassy and despite being shy, she's got a backbone that she'll need in Dante's world. She also has one true friend for support even though they are in different places.

The two together were a great combination. Dante with all his swagger and bravado, Josie with her inner strength and blatant disregard for his name.

There is the added bonus of the family banter not just between the cousins but their parents/uncles and aunts.

I loved this first story of the heirs (excluding Lorenzo from A Valentino Reunion of course). I can't wait for more.
.
.
.
Dante might have spent a month in Italy away from Josie Anderson, the object of his affection, and he thought that would be enough to get over her. But the first day back he's right there waiting for her. He's had enough of waiting, it's time Josie found out that she's his.
'Then, taking her chin between my thumb and index finger, I hold her face still and slam my lips onto her mouth. When she gasps, I push my tongue inside. Fuck, I've wanted to kiss this girl since the first time I saw her...'

Josie hoped that a month without Dante would have him forgetting all about her. No such luck. The infuriating man has glued himself to her side and on top of that he's declared to all that she is his. The attention she'd had for the last month was bad enough but she feared he would take things to a whole new level that she was not sure she could handle.
"Really? I'm not a prize cow you can just claim, Dante."
"No, but you are a prize, and you are mine."

Dante isn't sure how Josie will take to his world but he has no intention of giving her up and when he learns about her background and the life she leads now, he is more sure than ever that the girl is his and with him is where she'll be safe and be happy.
'I don't want just one thing with Josie. I want every-fucking thing.'

Happy Reading.

Cute high school romance, maybe a little forgettable, also definitely one of those "wearing her down with constant attention until she says yes" types, but fortunately minus the sex (they're sixteen).
3.5 stars
The problem with Dante (the book, not the character) is that the plot is rushed. The book opens in media res, with Dante obsessing over Josie and Josie conflicted about her feelings for him, but we never see them meet or any of those feelings develop. This *can* be fine if it’s well done, but here it just feels like there’s a missing prologue. Additionally, several chapters end abruptly, and the narrative flow is jumpy. For instance, we go from being told Aurora hates Josie for some reason to Aurora sticking up for her in the cafeteria with zero interaction between the characters better those two events. It’s weird.

I get the impression this series is more fun if you've read the Valentino Empire series, which I haven't (yet). Nevertheless, they're good quick reads if young adult/new adult romance is what you're in the mood for.

And breathe... Devoured in one sitting...

Can I give more than five stars.... Seriously I could not put this book down... The amount of real honest to god emotions that poured from me as I turned page after page is just phenomenal...

The characters breathed new life into one of my favourite families and there was nothing wrong with the originals at all!!!

I mean seriously this story blew my mind, my commentary while reading was probably the most vocal yet and you have to understand the adoration for this world I had before to get how much this book jumped ahead.... Just pure bliss

Quick obsessive read

This was a quick read! He's invested and obsessive and basically starts a relationship with her, then tells her they're in a relationship. He's the son of a mafia family. This book is quick paced. There's not a lot of fluff. The character development takes place over about a week. She's a foster kid. Use to being bullied and in bad situations. They're a quick click and feel like they knew each other in another life. It's sweet, stalkerish, good dynamics and quick.

Dante has the obsession gene like the rest of the family. He wants Josie and will stop at nothing. When she finally lets him in, Dante finds out Josie has her own struggles and trauma. He does what he can to keep her safe and seek revenge on those who hurt her. I love this book as I love all of Kylie’s books. This book made me laugh a lot. But overall this book reminds me about how the Valentino family comes together to protect their own. And they’ve decided Josie is theirs too!

Must read

I usually don't read teen or new adult romance but when I say Kylie knocked it out the park she did. There is no shut (thank goodness) or detailed violence yet it hits all the spots for a great mafia romance. I just wish the book was longer and jumped forward into the future. It felt like it was over too quick.

Looking forward to the next book in the series and anything else of Kylie's I haven't read yet. Here's to hoping she continues the streak.

3.75 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️✨

I love that this series continues down the generations. It’s great to see all of the characters in different roles. I will say the disappointment come in that each next gen book it moves the characters younger. So first gen they were adults falling in love, second gen was largely uni age and now high school. I wish the books stayed 20-30 somethings not moving to new adult territory.

I was expecting some smut. At least a little!
I love Kent's books and I love the stories...
but I expected SMUTTTTT

Still I love Dante. I was hoping there would be a continuation of their book... maybe later on after they were adults?!? haha
Either way, for a short story and no smut, it still enjoyed the small read.

Loved it

This was a lot sweeter than what I thought it would be. When you read the first couple of pages you find yourself guessing just what Dnate's intentions are and while the boy is in no way a saint I liked how he protects and looks after Josie. I also love the family dynamic, you think mafia family would be a certain way and these guys change that and show another side of it.

Book Review:
Dante By Kylie Kent
First off I love the male Valentino Obsession over their females! The love the Valentino males show is always amazing to read! Damn Dantes Obsession over Josie is perfection! I loved Josie at the lunch table! I enjoyed Livvy telling Josie she has a family with them. Wow Josies past... i love how Dante gave her a safe place to sleep. Oh my goodness what Dantes Aunt and Uncle did for Josie was incredible! Love these two!

This novella was such chiefs kiss! The “role-playing” games were just an amazing way to show how two different worlds can come together. Dante and Josie’s story was just beautiful and with some amazing one liners thrown in there

“Dante, why would you be stalking a girl? Oh my god, I’ve raised a Ted Bundy. We’re going to have to take him away from society, Romeo. Move out to the wilderness or something” liv

Do not read this book or the remainder of this portion of the series- stop while you have the chance. I finished simply because I felt obligated after reading all 12 (?) that came before it and i’m not even sure I can bring myself to read the last one…There is little to no plot (in any of them)- quite honestly, they were pointless books? I don’t even know, but this was a bad series and I consider myself a pretty generous reviewer..
