After a disastrous attempt at a one night stand, Eliott Rayne is content with never seeing the wildly confident and ridiculously handsome Dane Clarke again.
Two years later and she’s mostly pushed him from her mind when he barrels into her life once more as the best man at a wedding she’s been hired to photograph. Her first instinct is to run, cancel the job, and get as far away from Dane as possible. But Dane has other ideas. When Eliott reveals the embarrassing reason behind their failed night together, Dane is undeterred. Now he knows what went wrong two years ago, he’s determined to make it work this time around. But Eliott isn't convinced.
After their bumpy start transitions into a genuine friendship, will the two give each other one more shot or will what they have be over before it’s really even begun?
A dual POV steamy second chance contemporary romance.

As the eldest daughter of my family, I completely understand the responsibilities that come with this role. However, Elliot's family has made her family's go-to problem solver and they don't return the favor💔🥺. And of course, there's that other 🤏🏾small🤏🏾 problem.....
But then, enter Dane! The man is there for her anytime🕑, anywhere 📍, whatever she needs, even when she insists that she doesn't need any help. He doesn't push her, he's just there...🥹🥹❤️❤️ Can we all have a Dane in our lives, please? 💖
I loved seeing Cash and Dane's friendship! Cash knows just when to step back and let Dane figure things out and when to speak up.
And Finn and Amber? Not subtle, at all! 😂
I love reading about black women finding love and happiness and that is exactly what Anise gives us in this book and this entire series!👸🏾❤️
I'm eagerly anticipating her next work! Count me in as a dedicated reader. 📚✨
I loved this one too much. I think out of the whole series this has to be my favourite. Dane and I haven't connected that much in other books but he was great in this one. I was rooting for them so much and I really love them together.
There was something that was lacking for me with this one. Not entirely sure what it was as I couldn’t quite put my finger on it.
The MCs were good but felt hollow. Especially Dane. It almost felt as though he were a shell of a character that needed more development. I felt as though he needed to be built up a bit more. As though everything I learnt about him was TOLD, rather than SHOWN.
I did find both MCs worked well together and the representation of not arriving at the big ‘O’ for women during penetrative sex to be rather well depicted, but I just could not get into this book the way I got into the first two.
It felt like many issues (the major ones at least: looking at you family of Elliott) were just left to floating away in magical book land. Never to be seen on a page -or even resolved- ever again. Whilst I do understand that every issue a character endures does not need to be resolved, I think this one was pretty big!
Really loved seeing Cash & Bailey again. They are always a sweet couple. Liked Amber and Finn too.
Anise writes well, so the reading is not bad, there was just some chemistry lacking for this one.
the pacing of the book felt way too fast imo. i genuinely enjoyed the relationship between the two leads, but the struggles Eliot went through personally never felt fully recognized, like we just glossed over a very strong revelation and then dusted our hands off
I usually don't write reviews, but this book got me so riled up, I had to vent 💀. My frustrations can be grouped into three main themes: the fl, the O thing, and the ml.
First off, the fl was kinda alright, I liked her, but a lot of side plots involving her were left unresolved? Her family drama felt half-baked, at no point does she have a big conversation with them explaining her feelings and start setting boundaries! Like, she has this heart-to-heart with her grandma, but what about her mom and siblings, her bff? Like how do we know she has character growth in the end?
Then there's the whole orgasm thing. Like the portrayal of her condition lacked a lot of depth in my opinion! It's mentioned a ton, but we never dive into it really. And the lack of exploration into its medical and psychological aspects felt odd.. Like how do you have a condition like this well in your thirties, and you have never mentioned it to a doctor? a therapist? any professional at all? How does that even make sense? And her past relationships? Talk about glossing over them! Like they are crucial to understanding her "trauma" but we barely scratch the surface of what went down!
And don't even get me started on the love interest. He's like a cardboard cutout compared to the other characters, he didn’t have any personality! I cannot tell you anything about Dane apart from the fact that he was interested in Elliot ans he was the brother and bf of Bailey and Cash! He apparently has his own "trauma", which is never mentioned in the beginning by the way, just towards the end the author tells us that he’s a player because he was cheated on (because a woman has to always be the root of the problem in a man’s life of course🙄)! So his backstory? Barely there! Character development? He doesn’t even have character to begin with! And he's overshadowed by the constant mention of Bailey and Cash in his povs.
Anyway this became longer than I intended but this book was just so frustrating and the deeper you go into the issues the crazier you get lmao! The book and its characters do not make sense! There is no character development! A lot of side plots are opened and never closed! Some of the relationship developments are the same in other author’s previous books…
I understand writing is difficult, it takes a lot of courage and a lot of hard work to produce a book, I don’t like putting down someone else’s hard work like this, but I like AS’s writing, I think she has real talent and if she only worked more in her plots and her characters, her books would be so much better. Like there’s room for improvement..

I'm enamored and in love with this series. Saying I was obsessively reading and re-reading my favorite parts is an understatement, the banter, the humor, the way things fell into place- naturally, and rightfully . Is just everything.
I loved how Anise Starre really out did herself with this couple/book , she gave them justice, she didn't hold back and they were just Dane and Eliott, two bundles of love and wants ready to be shared mixed with lifelong of insecurities , where the author made sure they weren't dismissed and were actually discussed in order to overcome.
which was something that I SWOONED over , it's not common for The MMC to be insecure, yet Dane was so perfectly portrayed, sooo lovable. The same with. Eliott, the FMC's character is ......unmmm interesting 🤔🤭. The girl just wants her O's, the humanly induced kind and not the the battery one. Or just a combination of both 🤭🤭 .

📸 Curvy/POC FMC 📸 oopsie start 🤭 📸 second chance "let's give this a shot" 📸POC MMC 📸 Bailey, Cash, Amber, Finn Cameo 🥰 📸 Spicy 🔥🥵 (praise, toys...).
This book , with it being the 3rd in the series, sparked the flame of nostalgia, Bailey, Cash, finn And Amber... How I missed them.
Thank you @authoranisestarre For this ARC and I'm sooo excited for everything you have in store for us . 🥰.
Man this book was so sweet. I thoroughly enjoyed this. Anise you really took your time with one and glad you did because it’s the end of the Flights and Feelings series and this was the perfect way to end it.
Eliott is me and I am Eliott. Her character really hit close to home. Being the eldest daughter, you don’t always get the chance to consider yourself in any situation so seeing her have to experience her inner battles was very personal to me.
Dane and Elliot were similar in more ways than they realized. I loved how he instantly step up to help her without being asked. He made sure to nourish their friendship before taking any further steps. Elliot really helped Dane believe jn the idea of love again. Seeing the rest of the friends made me so happy!
This was my first read from this author and I think I'm a fan now. This was really enjoyable. I really got engrossed in Dane and Eliott's progression, plus I loved the lighthearted humor throughout. Dug it.
You brilliant woman! I loved One Week in Paradise and One Last Job but ONE MORE SHOT?? You’ve outdone yourself!!
This book is perfection. I want to delete it from my memory so I can read it all over again.
Eliott is me and I am Eliott. Her character really hit close to home. Being the eldest daughter, you don’t always get the chance to consider yourself in any situation so seeing her have to experience her inner battles was very personal to me. It made it that much more beautiful to see her develop her personal boundaries and have the conversation with her Grandmother. Brilliant character development. Then the way she fit in perfectly with Bailey and Amber? Chefs kiss!!
Then we have Dane. If I had to write the characteristics of my perfect man, it would just spell Big Daddy Dane! His character development was also something beautiful to experience. Discovering why he was so closed off to love really broke my heart but I’m so glad he was able to come to the realisation that he is deserving.
This story gave me all the feels. It tugged on my heart strings. It gave me everything I needed and more.
I adored Elliot and Dane! The dual pov helped me learn more about them and what led to their actions which is something I enjoy in a book.
With Elliot, I felt for her being the oldest daughter and dealing with the stress that came with that such as having to always be there for her family or only hearing from them when they wanted something. Dane seemed too easygoing for me at first (although still likable) and I loved when he and Elliot got to talk and I saw why he was the way he was.
The only problem I had with the book is I felt there wasn’t a resolution to the family problems Elliot had. Granted she had a conversation with one of the members but it didn’t quite feel resolved for me. I also felt one of the side characters ended up forgotten. Although we heard about her, I would have loved one more scene with her towards the end.
All in all this was a cute story that I really enjoyed. Elliot and Dane completed each other well and that epilogue showed me just how much.
I loved this ONS gone wrong but ends oh so right. The time taken to build their relationship was time well spent and I appreciate that one of the central conflicts, Eliott’s struggle to climax with a partner, is resolved in a believable way, with communication and affection making a huge difference not a magic fix. Dane’s journey is given time as well, the family/friendships are complicated yet realistic. Even the other issues in her life aren’t fixed but knowing she has Dane, made me believe in their HEA so much more.
Definitely keeping an eye out for more from this author.
Starre is definitely a solid author for me. (And a solid human being as well.) there were parts of Elliot’s story that didn’t really resonate with me because I don’t have any siblings but I think it would be much more impactful for someone that did. I also wish we would’ve got to see Elliot and Danes sexual relationship develop a tad bit more since that was one of there hang ups in the beginning. Loved seeing the characters from the other books (AKA daddy Finn)! But nonetheless super fun and quick read, and good conclusion to the series.
this book actually surprised me; i loved it A LOT more than i thought i would. HOWEVER; i am upset that i didn’t get closure about elliot’s God awful family 😒they deserved to feel her full wrath AND SHE DESERVED APOLOGIES !! but i digress, still such a cute book
I read One Week in Paradise and really liked it, so I decided to pick up One More Shot a couple of weeks later. I absolutely LOVED this book. Dane and Eliott?!?!? Chefs kiss!
This book is totally bingeable and I felt like I related to Elliot a little bit too much lol. It was perfectly written, and I can’t wait for the next Anise Starre book.
