Awesome in it's scope and power, this book chronicles the formation of Avalon. Merlin wants to bring harmony to the universe by bringing every realm together. His work comes together to form the great city of Avalon. The struggles of the elders lead to the coming conflict. Mariah Lynde has a wonderful way of describing the magical world that is Avalon. It could easily be put into a movie, but I think I would rather leave it to my imagination.

This was a very enjoyable debut novel. I always enjoy reading any story about Merlin and this one did not disappoint. Merlin has been done a lot but there were some new twists here and I am looking forward to reading the upcoming additions to find out more about his story. This book obviously was setting up for the next books but could still be a stand alone book. If you like reading about Merlin and Avalon, then this is the book for you. :-)
