Czekam na dzień, w którym zaczniemy rozmawiać o reportażu nie tylko w kontekście PRL-u, cenzury i wielkich nazwisk sprzed ćwierćwiecza. Czekam na dzień, w którym zaczniemy odkrywać młodych autorów, pełnych pasji, wiedzy i szerszego myślenia. Czekam też, aż zaczniemy w reportażu doceniać fakty i prawdy, a nie coś i coś jeszcze, z naciskiem na „coś jeszcze”. Zaściankowość „polskiego reportażu” kręci się w kółko jak chomik na kołowrotku, tyle że ów chomik nie będzie miał odruchów wymiotnych jak czytelnicy, którzy wiedzą, że granica dobrego non-fiction nie kończy się wraz z granicą wiślańskiego kraju. Właściwie to z tą granicą dopiero zaczyna się ocean wspaniałości, który jest przemilczany i wygumowany ze świadomości.

It’s hard to find any flaws in a book that reveals the mechanisms and tools of reportage in such an accessible way. Drawing from his own extensive experience, the author avoids prescribing a single "safe" path. Instead, he demonstrates that the choice of methods and execution should always stem from one’s own style and personal comfort. It’s a very fresh and bold approach—on one hand, it offers practical workshop tips; on the other, it shows us what we, as readers, should expect from reporters.
Paradoxically, that might be its only "downside"—after reading it, my expectations for the art of reportage have skyrocketed. It’s no longer just about how the material is gathered, but about the architecture of the text itself: how the story is structured, what the creator chooses to include, and how the final piece is polished.
The book is exceptionally well-written. At first, it felt like I was simply listening to stories about how reports come together. But as the author shared how his approach evolved with experience, I became completely hooked on the "behind-the-scenes" details that reporters rarely include in their final books. This read doesn't just teach you how to write; it teaches you how to be a more conscious reader.
