Sarah Steele needs a vacation from her high-profile job as an ADA, so she goes with her best friend on a trip they've always dreamed of to Rio De Janeiro. The vacation is off to a great start; surfing, swimming, reading, and dancing, but then their little piece of heaven takes a hellish turn. Sarah witnesses The Blondes, a mysterious group of female criminals who specialize in micro-kidnapping, capture a State Representative's wife. It was supposed to be simple, the police say the victims are always released within a few hours. But when the woman's found dead in a dumpster, Sarah swears The Blondes will receive justice. And she'll be the one to give it. But as things get more twisted than she ever imagined, does she have what it takes to bring them down?

I enjoyed TWISTING STEELE even more than the series' first book, BREAKING STEELE. In TS, Sarah Steele's character grows from being a district attorney with a shady past to being a loyal friend who's starting to open up.
The story begins with Sarah and her best friend, Mandy, heading to Rio for a girls-only vacation. The comradeship between these two is often hilarious and heartwarming. But of course they can't enjoy their time on the beach for long, because trouble always seems to find Sarah. She gets drawn into the case of the Blondes, a group of rogue women who go from acting like Robin Hood to murdering American tourists. These are villains who aren't black and white, and they'll keep you guessing about their true intentions.
Solomon, Sarah's gun-training instructor from the first book, makes a reappearance, and I was happy to see him. His relationship with Sarah complicates as she struggles to trust him and decide whether or not to reveal her past to him.
Thrillers aren't my usual genre of choice, but I did like the action that steered me at top speed to an uncertain end. Despite that action, this story was light enough to make a good beach read. I also like Sarah's evolution as a character. She's a kickboxing tough girl with a heart for helping others. Looking forward to the next installment in the series!

This was a fast fun exciting read. I highly recommend it for anyone who likes to read thrillers.

Sarah Steele is a heroine I want to hear more from. An attorney with a kick goes on vacay with BFF and finds mystery, intrigue and killers. There is a hint of romance to come. All in all a fun summer read that makes me want to know more about Sarah. It was a fun story to narrate all set in beautiful Rio de Janero.

After a rough time in the first Sarah Steele book, the title character is looking forward to some R&R on a vacation to Rio with her best friend Mandy. Of course, things are never easy for Sarah, as she witnesses a brutal kidnapping shortly after her arrival. The perpetrators are a gang called "The Blondes" who have been kidnapping tourists. But The Blondes have recently changed tactics and started killing their victims instead of robbing them and letting them go. Sarah decides to investigate and find justice for the victims.
Sarah does have a particular knack for getting herself involved in things, and a highly overdeveloped sense of revenge. But I like that attitude. I enjoy the fact that she's not just a stereotypical "wait for something to happen and THEN react furiously" character.
Overall this was a pretty good story. It was short but fast paced and mostly realistic. The ending wrapped things up a little too quickly (there must be a larger story! No, wait, there isn't!) but maybe that will be addressed in the next book?

This is an excellent book,following a lawyer,Sarah,who feels the need to get complete justice for her clients,no matter what it entails. The characters are fun to watch as they evolve as the series goes on,Sarah realizes that along with her abilities within the law,she has something extra in her that enhances her investigative abilities and helps her keep up against the outlaws she encounters. Truly encourage anyone who likes police/detective stories to give these books a try,I eagerly await the next chapter!
