She leads mindfulness-based grief workshops for organizations such as the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation and Hospice of Frederick County, and is a member of the Association of Death Education and Counseling.

This book in tandem with some other tools has really been a saving grace for me. It took me much longer than 8 weeks to make it through but I use morsels of the teachings everyday. I refer back to it and really believe it has helped me to start the journey through my grief and I’ve come so far in the past 8 months. “From the ashes of grief the ground of love will be fertilized”. I borrowed this from the library but I'll be purchasing my own copy. It explains grief, particularly the physical feelings of grief, so well without being overwhelming. The exercises for each week are laid out clearly and even just on week one, it's been very helpful.
Such a helpful book when the worst happens and you loose someone. Helped with feelings I couldn't explain and eased physical issues such as not sleeping and fatigue. A real godsend.
