3.5 stars--This graphic novel is a fun and creative take on the Garden of Eden story. None of the characters, including the Big Guy himself, are free of flaws or bad decisions. It's an offbeat, wacky, and at times melancholy look at the human (and supernatural) condition.
Very memorable! I read this in just over one sitting.
I appreciated that this was funny yet dark, and consistently interesting. The art is excellent - maybe one of my favorite black and white graphic novels.
The first (a story about the preservation of the story) and second (the main story) parts didn't quite come together for me, and the pacing was a bit strange (but they commented on this, in a fun meta way).
This was a cool concept, but perhaps I simply wasn't the right audience for this novel. The art style also I fear just wasn't for me. Still, that isn't to say others would not enjoy this book! Give it a try, and see how you like it :)
