The Rule Breaker is the third book in best selling author Maggie Miller's new trilogy. Don't miss this epic summer read!
Harper Calhoun doesn't need any more complications in her life. Then one shows up. A seriously major complication that also happens to be a link to her past. This isn't a surprise she needed or wanted, but she's going to have to deal with it.
Following rules has been a big part of how she's gotten herself through life. Does she dare break the rules now? She might not have a choice...
I'm terrible at writing reviews, especially when I'm still in a wonderful fog after reading a book. So I will try. I am a serious series reader; I've read almost all the WF/romance series available on Kindle. I loved almost all, BUT I adored all of Maggie Miller's series, especially the Hideaway Bay series. She has a gift for making her characters so personable that I feel as if I am part of the story with them, even part of their families. Mitch Ripley was very special to me because everything he does as an author is either what I do or encouraged me to do what he does. I, too, was in a writing funk but this series encouraged me so much I went back to my latest book and have been writing at least 1000 words every day. Miller brings life to every conversation her characters have. She has them doing ordinary, daily things like opening the fridge and putting away groceries. Most authors would skip those things but they are a part of life, and she makes them interesting. I've started doing that in my writing now, too, all because of her. I am indebted to her for that. I would love to get together with her in person to chat. She, herself, must be so interesting. I believe she sees life as it is and presents it exactly that way. I hope others, especially other writers of WF/romance will read her and be as captivated as I.
Well done! Perfect beach read. Harper deals with a life changing issue with Mitch by her side, which changes the direction of their relationship. Angie, Lucas’ brother and former NYPD, solves everyone else’s issues, as only a former police officer from a big city can (all above board) i.e., Jack and Kyle. Joyce’s sister arrives and now they have a YouTube show, Willa is enjoying the summer before school starts, and Frankie’s business takes off! All in all, a great series, highly recommended.
Great story line(s). Location of the story is a dream house. And let’s admit, the money levels are envious. That said, the ending was as if “ ok, I’m done writing now”. There were open ends to 3-4 of the characters that I would like to read more on. Aka, make this a long series based upon the unsung characters. A few repetitive sentences throughout, but not a killer to the story, just redundant. It’s a story based in a rich world, where real worries can happen, but always resolve in the positive. A lot of ‘money solves everything’ vibe. My written negatives in no way should delete the reading pleasure I found within this book. A perfect beach or fireside read. It’s a reread book for those times you just want to disappear into another dimension of life. I await another book that will continue the lives of the secondary characters.
While I love series I kinda hate them too. I want so much h to dive Into the next book in the series. (I am assuming there will be more). I want to know what is going to happen when Buck and Glenda come to visit. What happens next when the sisters do another show, will Frankie paint and do a gallery show? Will Addison try to take Ruthie? So many things I want to know. Can't wait for the next book in this series.
Always a fan of Maggie Miller. The third in the series nicely wraps up the series without rushing to close everything up in the final chapter. The reader is left with a picture of the future for all of the characters while comfortably knowing the challenges of their lives have been overcome.
I really enjoyed this series, especially with all the day to day details of ordinary life, but I do wish there was one more book. I’d love to have all the details tied up - Lucas & Frankie, Joyce & Beryl, Ryan, Willa, etc. I realize the story was about Harper & Mitch but I loved everyone else in it & would love to know how their stories unfold, too.
All of the characters in this series were so likable and had their own complex personalities and challenges which kept me engaged and interested. I really enjoyed the development of relationships and friendships throughout the book and series, it was cute. I did really enjoy this series, it was light hearted and fun and perfect for bed reading!
All three books were amazing. What a great group of characters! Each one explored differently. I loved them all and will miss their story. The reading went so smoothly and was always entertaining. Wish this series could go on forever!!!
I just finished the series. I LOVED all 3 books in the series. Sad there will not be any additional books to be added to the series. I so wished there could be ! Totally enjoyed all the characters! ❤️❤️
Maggie definitely designs a well crafted story with many twists and turns that are very relatable to our day to day life. Can not wait to see what the future stories bring!
This book ties up loose ends and finishes the intrigue of books 1, 2,and send l also book 3. It door a set up some interesting as ting future books if the author should choose to continue working with these characters.
Loved this series. Loved the ending for Harper, but so many lose ends with Frankie and Willa's lives. Hope their stories continue in Hideaway Bay or a new series. But definitely enjoyed all the characters in this series and their stories.
I am in love with this series. There is so much more that can be told. PLEASE consider continuing. The characters are wonderful and inviting. Well told story. Would love more please. One of my new favorite writers.
This series is a winner! The only thing bad is I need more books for Frankie, Willa, Kyle, Joyce, Beryl, Lucas, Jack, baby Ruthie, Angie & Jason. The characters are so well written. I want to read Kyle’s books. Could they possibly exist?
This is such a great book and honestly made me tear up reading it and feeling what Harper felt about her mom. I hope the series continues, keeping my fingers crossed
This book was a great read and enough drama to keep ones interest yet invested in the stories of all the characters. Hoping there is a Hideaway Bay Book #4
I loved this book about more live, paparazzi, and family. I can't wait to continue the series. Everyone in two main households is becoming like family.
This book is filled with people that you would like. It’s also filled with live so that you would love to lead. It was a pleasure to get to know and spend time with these people.
