I'm terrible at writing reviews, especially when I'm still in a wonderful fog after reading a book. So I will try.
I am a serious series reader; I've read almost all the WF/romance series available on Kindle. I loved almost all, BUT I adored all of Maggie Miller's series, especially the Hideaway Bay series. She has a gift for making her characters so personable that I feel as if I am part of the story with them, even part of their families. Mitch Ripley was very special to me because everything he does as an author is either what I do or encouraged me to do what he does. I, too, was in a writing funk but this series encouraged me so much I went back to my latest book and have been writing at least 1000 words every day.
Miller brings life to every conversation her characters have. She has them doing ordinary, daily things like opening the fridge and putting away groceries. Most authors would skip those things but they are a part of life, and she makes them interesting. I've started doing that in my writing now, too, all because of her. I am indebted to her for that.
I would love to get together with her in person to chat. She, herself, must be so interesting. I believe she sees life as it is and presents it exactly that way. I hope others, especially other writers of WF/romance will read her and be as captivated as I.
