The BIG summer read you've been waiting for is here! The Game Changer is the second in the Hideaway Bay trilogy from best-selling author Maggie Miller.
With the media now her worst enemy, Harper Calhoun throws herself into the things she can control. Like getting closer to her sister and niece, and helping her handsome neighbor. She's also getting really good at pretending that her life completely imploding isn't bothering her.
Too bad so much of what's happening is beyond her control. Like the changes that are on the horizon. Big, life-altering kinds of changes. Everything she thought she knew about her past could be a lie. But Harper's done keeping secrets. She wants honesty and truth from everyone around her.
Even from the man who might be the biggest game changer of them all.
I had to immediately find this book and read it after I finished the first book in the series. The cliff hanger at the end of it was satisfying and left me wanting more. This second book in the series sealed so many open questions, and created so many new ones. I love the flow of it, never too fast, but never to slow. The way that Maggie describes even the mundane morning rituals of making the coffee, something that every single character in the book does at one point or another, makes it seem more regal than the actual action itself. I would definitely read this book again in the future, or possibly when I finish the third book.
Closer to a 3.5. I did enjoy this book and how it tied into the first one. There were a few very unexpected things, but there were also some things that I was anticipating on happening which kept me turning the pages. I love how we get so many different point of views and I love the different plot lines. All very likable characters as well. There were times more so in this book however that it felt stagnant whereas the first one I didn’t really feel like it. I am excited to read the last part of this series however!
Book 2 of Maggie Miller's Hideaway Bay series is as yummy as its predecessor! The characters are very believable and likeable with just enough tension to keep the story moving well. Reinventing yourself as a mid-aged woman both professionally and in the affairs of the heart is a challenge and these women are played out well. It is a very enjoyable read thus far and l'm looking forward to starting Book 3 in about 2 minutes!
One of the wonderful things about Maggie's books is that the reader feels they are involved in the story. The characters are great, climate and surroundings are beautiful and inviting and plot keeps your interest from start to finish. Love her writing style.
This was a really good book. So many things happening that I found it hard to find stopping points to get things done in my own home. Reviews are hard because you can't actually say what went on and ruin the book for those who are going to read it. Let's just say there were babies, grandparents, TV shows and more.
Oh merry goodness, I don't want to spoil it, but Mitch is evolving right before our eyes! And, its all thanks to Joyce. I don't cry when I read, but the beginning of this book had me sobbing, but not because it was sad, it's because I was so touched. Can't wait for the next installment!
Harper, Frankie and Willa continue to grow and thrive in their new home in Hideaway Bay. Trusting their instincts to be able to change their lives and make new paths … but unexpected visitors and surprises keep them on their toes. Can’t wait to see what happens next in this fun summer beach read…
I was so excited for this second boom to release and it did not disappoint! I cannot wait for the next one to come out. There’s so much more to find out about everyone!
Wow! An amazing continuation. This second book in the series picks up right where book one left off and The Fame Changer ends with a mini cliffhanger. I’m very much looking forward to the next book.
I enjoy reading this series of books. Something new is always happening to keep you guessing. The only thing I don’t like is not having an ending to each book. There is a cliffhanger to get you to buy the next book.
This was a really good book about Frankie and her sister settling in at the Florida house. Both women have some romance going on. Frankie's daughter makes a big decision and the neighbor's son comes home.
Soooooo good. I cannot wait for the next book! I love Maggie’s books! There’s always a profound message that makes me think about my own life. The characters are just so great! I wish I lived there too!
This is supposed to be a series, but the first two books are about completely different people. I don't understand the supposed connection other than the beach.
