With shocking revelations about her father still fresh in her mind, FBI Special Agent Darcy Hunt is plunged into a case that rattles her to her core. One by one, women’s bodies are discovered in the woods, and the killer has left no trace behind.
In Skylar’s absence, the Bureau has assigned Darcy a temporary partner fresh out of Quantico, leaving her to juggle her new mentoring responsibilities along with a case that grows more confusing by the minute.
To make things worse, Darcy must fight a growing sense of hopelessness when Lila’s doctor gives her news she never wanted to hear, and all her dreams of having a normal life with her sister are stolen away.
Everything converges when a mysterious man appears claiming to have known her father, and Toby Parsons steps from the shadows to let her know that he isn’t finished with her yet.
A Cry in the Woods is the seventh book in the Darcy Hunt FBI Mystery Series by Eva Sparks - I binged the entire collection which proved to be quite gripping reading. FBI Agent Darcy Hunt is not your typical crime-fiction lead ... she’s layered, haunted by past traumas, and yet still fiercely determined to seek justice. Each book plunges readers into intricate cases involving missing persons, political intrigue, and chilling criminal minds - all while weaving in Darcy’s personal struggles and evolving relationships. Ms. Sparks’ writing shines with taut and dynamic storytelling that kept me turning pages late into the night, and yet still rich enough with emotion that made me care about the people behind the crimes. The investigative details felt authentic without bogging down the storyline/s, and the twists are clever enough to have kept me guessing. A binge-worthy FBI thriller series that delivers both heart-pounding suspense and a heroine you’ll want to root for from book one to the latest release. Happy Reading…
Darcy’s current helper happens to be a trainee right out of Quantico. Her best friend Skyler is still taking care of his son after the car accident him and his dad were in.
The case Darcy and Allie are given is hard to find out who is behind all of it. But once they figure it out they are onto the killer. Both Darcy and Allie have hard backgrounds.
Darcy ends up with bad news but good news at the same time. She has loved helping a new trainee even if she at first didn’t like that idea
I give it a 4.5 star because I am enjoying the cliffhanger it leaves with lol bring on more Darcy Hunt books. I’m excited to also read Allie Bishops series as well.(:
A Cry in the Woods( Darcy Hunt FBI Mystery Suspense Thriller Book 7)
I truly loved this book, so much was going on that it was hard to keep up. I love that you get to see into the life of Darcy and the other agents, I a happy that Lila might wake up. I like Allie, she is super smart and sounds like she is going to make a really good agent, when she graduates. I did not see the ending to this one, murder by proxy is a first, but you will have to read this book to understand what I mean. I truly recommend this series. I can't wait for the next book.
3.5 stars I really like this whole series, and love that we were introduced to a new character with her own spin off series. Can't wait to find out more about Allie Bishop. Knowing that the Darcy Hunt series is far from over, I am looking forward to finding out what happens with Toby Parsons and how that intertwines with her fathers history too.
First they thought the cries were a lady hearing things cause she didn’t take her medication. But turns out that it was an uncle and kid were murdering. But Darcy also had a mentor who was learning from her. They did have her sister more in this book but I guess it is hard when she’s in a coma. I’m downloading book 8 to listen to next.
I'm thoroughly enjoying this Darcy Hunt series. Just when I think i know what's going on, the plot twists and turns in another direction. I can't speak on my favorite parts of the book without spoiling it for aomeone who hasn't read them. I can't wait to start book 8!
This author knows how to spin a story. She locks you in from the very beginning and doesn't let go till the end. Then you're still begging for the next book. If you happen to start with this book, please go back and read the rest of them.
I really enjoyed this book. A lot of times, I've started reading a book and a couple of chapters in I'm bored and just go to the end of the book to see how they end it. I didn't think about doing that with this one.
I’ve been reading this series for a while now and this book finally came out, I read it in about 3 days. Such an intriguing storyline about a FBI agent. This is the 8th book and o can’t wait for the next one to come out.
I knew who the killer was and why he/she was doing it. It was interesting watching how Darcy and Allie worked together to solve the mystery. In my opinion the biggest problem with the series is all the rehashing of Darcy's past. I read in Kindle Unlimited.
This book was extremely interesting. I enjoyed every sentence I read. Absolutely could not put the book down until I finished reading it. So looking forward to all future books. Many thanks!
This was a quick read for.me. The action was overflowing. I can't remember any where the plot would slow down.like some others books I've read. Now I'm off to the next Darcy Hunt FBI book!
Best one of the series. I really likes young Allie, and have preordered “The Devil’s Daughter” and I’m excited to read the next book in the Darcy Hunt series.
This series is growing branch, after branch. So many parts that seem to be on a collision course. Hopefully the next installment will find all the needed answers.
