In the horror industry, few titles reach mainstream status and become embedded in the musty grains of modern society. Most either fly under the radar or become catastrophic commercial flops. Still, some others reach a level of notoriety unlike the rest – a cult-like status that wins the hearts of those who get to experience it while avoiding the triviality forgery of the mainstream. This is a story about how I developed a love for horror, created a show that championed the genre with a good friend, scared the mayor of our small town, then watched it all come crashing down. It’s a story about passion, courage and sticking it to the man … even if the man still ends up winning.
This book is for the horror movie fan, or the underdog trying to make it in the world of media and television, or the loner who is trying his best to make something of himself despite everyone’s push back, or the person who likes to stick it to the man, or the punker who won’t give in. I am none of these things, but I really enjoyed learning about a fascinating situation and series of events that went down in Kingsport Tennessee. I learned some interesting things about the horror industry, and took some lessons from the book that can be applied to every day life. The book is very niche, but incredibly well written. I’d love to see what else this author could write about it, his story telling is definitely on point!
