Author's i wrote this chapbook in the space of 24 hours my past career was all about being heard, sharing my voice to an audience i don't do that any more, i haven't done that in years and now that i think about it, i haven't really been heard, at all, since then
'strawberry patch' is a collection of haikus about the beds in my garden in various stages of it's life cycle i water them every day these haikus are followed by free verse, reflecting on the life cycle of my own garden, at points of pivotal change i'm now realising i need to water these, too
this chapbook carries a trigger warning for numbers, no behaviours mentioned; of course and a trigger warning for violation, no details mentioned; of course i normally wouldn't use numbers in my clinical work during my day job but i, unfortunately, used to only paint with numbers
i don't know what inspired me to sit down and create this but in the interest of facing the fire with fear, i decided to share it with you perhaps i was just procrastinating from doing my master's thesis or perhaps more of us need to be heard
