Having already read his book, I Chose Freedom, it was really interesting to read and find out what happened to him. It is amazing to think how ignorant the West was about Stalin during this time, and how remarkable a person he was. More people in this country need to be aware of the history of socialism and her sister communism. I really enjoyed learning about his personal life, and how he sued Stalin and won! If won is interested in History and current events, this is a must read.

Книга Віктора Кравченка "Я обираю свободу" - моя улюблена. Мене надзвичайно зацікавила його доля після неповернення з США під час роботи у Нью Йорку в рамках співробітництва США та СССР по Лендлізу. Однак, ця книга, на мою думку, написана дуже тяжко для сприйняття. Я намагалася читати її в першу чергу, щоб дізнатися більше про життя Кравченка, долю його сім'ї в СССР, але це просто мука, я не змогла її дочитати попри все моє бажання. Автор додає дуже багато непотрібних деталей. Двічі починала читати цю книгу і двічі не змогла її дочитати. Автор використовує якісь зовсім недоречні прийоми художньої літератури там, де цього не варто робити, перевантажує текст і розтягує все це дійство на 750 сторінок?! Дуже жаль, що саме цей автор вирішив написати біографію Кравченка.
