The bass are biting at the Happy Valley Motor Inn and Resort, and just in time for a prestigious fishing tournament with thousands of dollars in prize money at stake. But when human remains are discovered at the resort on the eve of the event, Paula Fields is thrust into the heart of the action, scrambling for answers to questions others, including her husband, believe are better left unasked. Is she angling for bigger fish than she can fry?
I stumbled on this author one day while scrolling looking for a book. I am so glad I did. The Happy Valley series is one of the best I have read. The story involves you from the start and keeps you in its throe throughout the book. I love the characters and you feel like part of the family. Ms. Noyes is a great author...no mistakes or errors in the books either. Please keep writing the Happy Valley series. I gotta know what happens to Paula and Mark, Cassie and Melinda, and Zeke and Martha next.
Once I started reading I was totally involved..involved every emotion one has at one time or another...read it overnight in one sitting...Wore me out but I do love these characters as well as the setting..please continue with more of these story lines and great characters...they have become like personal friends.
I absolutely love this series! It hooked me right in from the first book, and each new book that comes out jumps to the head of my TBR list. Head to The Happy Valley Motor Inn & Resort, Hang with the 3 M's, Goldilocks, Cassie and Mark. Oh yeah....if you like juggling, be SURE to start the series with book one! The can be read alone, but SO much better as a series!
Greed at the Happy Valley Motor Inn and Resort (The Happy Valley Series Book 6) Kindle Edition

5 STARS
This is the next book in The Happy Valley Series. Our old friends are back hosting a fishing tournament . Lots of twists to this fun book. Some LOL moments you won’t want to miss.
It was so good to be back in Happy Valley. Now I hope the next book in the series comes out very soon. The characters seem like family. I just love Pauls’s detective skills.
Always a good read and getting to know more of the Happy Valley family and residents!! All the twists and turns!! Cannot wait for the next installment of Happy Valley and what is to come!!
This whole series is great for the now mature girls who loved Nancy Drew, the fun grownup version, a nice pleasant escape from today’s world the same way we escaped with Nancy all those years ago, definitely recommend the whole series, start with the first book.
This series always warms my heart. It's like hanging out with old friends. Returning to the Happy Valley Inn for a fishing tournament provided drama and entertainment.
I approached this latest entry in the Happy Valley Motor Inn and Resort series with a fair bit of caution. As you may recall, Ms. Noyes got all sneaky pants on us with the last outing, opening with a complete misdirect from the fourth book that had me scowling…I mean, what’s next? Will she open with the shocking revelation that the entire fifth book was nothing but a dream, Paula waking to find her first husband, Cal, alive and well and in the shower…? (IYKYK…but, wow, am I dating myself…🫢)
I’m happy to say it was all for naught. Not only are Paula and Dr. Hunky still happily married, but the honeymoon isn’t anywhere near over! They’re doing more than their share to combat their fertility issues—ahem—while Paula and Melinda are busily prepping the resort to host its biggest event to date, the Deep Waters/Deep Pockets Tour. It’s hosted by Big Bill Benedict and his team of experts and is one of the country’s biggest weekend fishing tournaments. The tour is known for its impressively high cash payouts, and it’s drawing people far and wide, and the ladies of Happy Valley are scrambling to get ready. But with so much money changing hands, can trouble be far behind?
At Happy Valley, is it ever?
When Paula inadvertently overhears a couple of strangers squabbling in the dark, her curiosity is piqued. The conversation certainly sounded menacing—but maybe not. Not wanting to be an alarmist, she files the information away to discuss with her husband later, and soon enough, the hustle and bustle of activity from the inbound patrons pushes it to the furthest corner of her mind.
All it takes is the discovery of one very dead body to bring it all careening back...
Had Paula witnessed the events leading up to the murder? Would she be able to identify either of the voices should she ever hear them again? One WAS awfully distinct… More importantly, will she be able to let Sheriff Hill and Deputy Lydia Gray do their jobs without getting completely underfoot in the process? (The smart money’s on ‘no’ for that last one…)
Noyes delivers another delightful entry in her long-running series, introducing new faces—both friend and foe—while keeping us up to date with all our fan favorites from the previous books. The mystery at the heart of the story is decidedly more somber than usual, but Leslie offsets the darkness with plenty of food, folks, and fun…I mean, have you ever played strip dominoes? And just when you think you’ve got it all figured out, she mic-drops an eleventh-hour gotcha that is all the reminder I need of why I love this series so much.
Have you been to Happy Valley lately? If I were you, I’d make a reservation soon. I hear they’re almost all booked up.
Once again, I enjoyed my trip to the Happy Valley Motor Inn and Resort - tremendously! The characters keep growing in depth and personality. I'm loving the joyful, supportive relationships. As always, the humor is sweet. The mystery is well-drawn, with a page-turning pace that kept me up late so I could fine out whodunnit. The best thing about this series: when I read a book, I truly feel like I'm paying a visit to friends. Looking forward to the next in the series!
Another page turner by Leslie Noyes. Full of fun, adventure, romance, friendship and love, this is the last in the series that i know of. One thing I do know for sure is that I will definitely be adding any and all other books from this series to my library. They are fun to read and leave me wanting more and even more.
The storylines are wonderful. And the author asked me really caring about the fictional characters. And I'm also kind of envious of her writing ability. But seriously, waiting for book 7 is going to be H E double hockey sticks.
