Bound by Lies

Rate this book
Our love is on his terms. He contacts me only through notes − unpredictable and untraceable. When we meet, he can touch me, but I’m not allowed to touch him. When we make love, it’s only after I have been bound and blindfolded. It’s the only time I truly feel alive. Which is why I play along with it. For now.

Caden Thaine is the most sinfully beautiful man I have ever seen. But more than that, his touch sets me on fire. And dear God, do I ache for him. I don’t know where he lives or even what he does. But this doesn’t scare me. My only fear is that one day his messages will stop.

I know he’s hiding something. But that’s okay. I am hiding things, too. Like my real name and... who I really am. But what we have is enough. Sort of. And everything works…

Until one day, I follow him.

Soon our dark pasts will collide and I will discover just how much we are both bound by lies.

Hanna is the bestselling author of the Bound romantic suspense series and the Dark Angel fantasy series. Although she writes in more than one genre she can’t write a book without weaving together a complicated plot and filling it with twists. She writes what she believes: good people can do bad things, ordinary people can do great things, and choose love above everything.

If not writing, she can be found wandering a dusty market in Marrakesh or trekking a mountain in Peru, often using her travels as settings in her novels.

Bound by Lies fails miserably. Geez, what an awful book. It's among the worst books I've ever read.

Heaven help me. I am so wrong about his eyes. They aren't brown. They are the intense green of rough seas, turbulent and luring with depths that I might never be able to swim out of. And Lord, do I want to swim in them. Naked.

His voice sinks into my skin like a bite, sending heat into my blood.

A deep sadness fills me like rust-colored water into an empty glass vase when I realize the answer is yes.
I turn my back to him and slip on the jacket, transferring my heels from hand to hand. The inside of it is warm, and his scent brushes up my neck to my nose in a soft caress. God, I could lose myself in his smell and this warmth. I almost believe that this jacket is bulletproof.

He straddles the motorbike and it seems to sigh under him.

The motorbike growls to life under him like a waking lion.

My limbs work of their own volition, moving me towards him like a ship returning to harbor.

 photo tumblr_m3igvctnW11r3m2q9o1_400_zpsde3d2f8b.gif

And all I can think about is this beautiful man and how right it will feel to get very, very naked with him. Every second without him inside me, every inch of air between our bodies is a tragedy.

It sure is a tragedy that I even considered reading this book. *shudder*

My stomach pains as if someone is wringing it in their hands.

 photo tumblr_mbltk6kbCh1rzbvsto1_500_zps4cb5ce99.gif

My insides shatter and I am liquid stars. Unable to support myself anymore, I start to fall like dust and ash returning to the ground. But I don't land. I smell wood smoke and home as he cradles me in his arms. I feel myself floating and floating. Then the softness of the mattress underneath me.

 photo tumblr_mrc3zo14ny1suditao1_500_zpscdca44b7.gif

At first it is just a press, his soft lips, tasting of sweet grapes and rosemary, touching mine. It is butterflies and falling leaves and it makes my skin tingle like those sparkles of sunlight that dance upon a babbling brook.

Yep, who's babbling here?

I feel a small wet line all the way in my belly. Then he sucks, starting an energy in me like the distant rumble of earth under hooves.

 photo tumblr_l84th71A8B1qb0tnwo1_500_zpseed239df.gif

His tongue teases my mouth and at my heart, coaxing it to open for him like a flower. I part my lips for him and he enters me with his tongue. Like a jolt of electricity, I awake. My body lights with fire, aching, consuming fire. I begin to move with him, searching for his taste, exploring his lips and his mouth, tilting my head so our breaths can fuse even more.

 photo tumblr_mq21z0DBta1r1mkubo1_500_zpsfec73090.gif

On his face I see an inner tragedy play out.

My review won't crush this book cos the author sure as hell took care of that herself. Tons of atrocious style blossoms and cheese suffocated Bound by Lies. It's safe to say that Hanna Peach didn't make me feel peachy at all. Again, I do love flowery writing when it's done right. The writing in Bound by Lies, however, is disastrous. The author tried way, way too hard to wax lyrical and in the end failed miserably. Everything felt incredibly awkward and embarrassing. Excuse me but is this a bad joke? Also, the constant switch between past and present didn't facilitate a smooth flow of the plot. And I couldn't for the life of me connect with the shallow and absolutely trivial main protagonists, either. Oh my, I had to deal with yet another whiny and dumb heroine. Concept, storyline (what storyline?) and execution are less than 'blah', and don't get me started on the BDSM elements and the silly sex scenes. Honestly, there is no nice way to say it. Nothing, absolutely nothing, worked out for me. Bound by Lies is a terribly bad read. I'm sorry for being harsh but this book should never have seen the light of day.

And we rock. He moves faster. And I swear my underwear is just going to burn away from all this heat and friction. My head and my body are almost hurting from all this pressure inside. God, I just need him.

God, my head and stomach are hurting, too. If I had bought a paperback I would have burned the book. *facepalm*

 photo tumblr_mw27fpc9MJ1r0tytoo1_400_zps4f496e44.gif

A shot of heat hits the back of my eyeballs and I look away before I start to cry.

The love on his face cracks open the shell of pain across his features when he realizes what I am doing.

Oh, and please, no more kitten. No. More. I. Mean. It.

 photo tumblr_mtij53yu0o1qmbg8bo1_r1_400_zps30db2317.gif

"Kitten, I want to make love to you."
"Yes," I cry. The aching need under my skin crackles like electricity.

Yes, I'm going to stop this whole nonsense now. DNF at 40 %. I want my money back.

P.S. Bound by Lies was a total PITA. And while I felt the need to hit my head on my table, I couldn't help doing this…

This is going to be quick and painful.
How did I feel about this book?

description

I remember the feeling of being excited to read this. The blurb sounded interesting, and the cover is hot. But then I met the heroine and I instantly regretted my decision.

description

The heroine is one of the dumbest, most immature, pathetic, whiny characters in fiction.
The hero is supposed to be alpha but he just comes across as bossy, arrogant, possessive and secretive.
I've read better writing from Kindergarteners.
I was 40% in and there was NO plot and NOTHING was happening in the story, except them having sex that was dry, (no pun intended) and dull.
If I had to choose between sitting naked on an ant hill or finishing this I would readily choose the ant hill.

Nope.. How can I say this? It just was not good. It was so bad that yes, I recognized early on, all the signs that point to It's not gonna get any better for me

It mainly was the chick and her simpleton POV. But it was also how everything here just came off as majorly forced & not all that intriguing for me.

So I had to stop the madness before the madness got to me. #shrugs

OH-MY-LORD
You don't realise how much I loved reading this book.

I was so excited when Hanna first approached me asking if I was interested in reviewing her new release.

description

This was the first I would of read by this author, and to be frank with you....it certainly won't be the last, I'm telling you this book kicked ass and I am sooo looking forward to reading more!

Hell to the Yes! - I totally jumped at the opportunity

I loved how Hanna wrote the story, going from past to present.

Bound by lies is about a women named Kitten (we don't know her real name) and a HOT rugged sex-on-legs Caden Thain, who both are running from their pasts and hiding hidden truths, for a good reason or not, we don't get to know part of the story until the far end...

She's On the Run...

He's On the Run...

description

There was certainly HOT sex scenes, and the storyline was somewhat dark and defying, I loved it!

Caden is the alpha, domineering guy who oozes the perfect amount of sex, confidence and manly-hood.

"You'll say yes to me, Kitten. You'll say yes to me and only me. You know how I know? His voice, so low and hot, fucks my ear. "I'm going to make you feel so good that it'll ruin you for all the other men" ~ Caden Thaine

We know very little of both Kitten and Caden. Caden is so mysterious, he has his secrets and he is pushed to the edge quite often. Little by little more of the truth is revealed but the real bomb comes toward the end of the book.

HOLY-EFFIN-COW!

I totally didn't see that ending. I mean I was teeting on the version of him betraying her but THAT....totally works better.

You know it is a great book if you go to bed still thinking of it and it is on your mind first thing in the morning!!

This one is an action packed, suspense filled & an erotic story that will leave you hanging.....literally

I can't wait to read the second instalment, I want to see this "Relationship" pan out between Caden & Kitten after the identity of Caden is revealed.

It becomes quite emotional as Kitten's already broken heart shatters further when the secrets that were supposed to be kept hidden are revealed.

Bound by Lies (Bound, #1) was a bit of a twisted adventure if I may so myself.

This story follows Kitten (yes, because we never learn her real name) living another life, under a new identity.

She's on the run.

He's on the hunt.

Enter Caden - probably one of the most mysterious men I've ever read about. You really don't find much about him. All we know is how he looks like from the shoulder up, he's muscular (although Kitten was never allowed to see him naked) and he's great in bed (well, amen for that).

Kitten is sure that there is something up with Caden and finds her first clue to confirm her suspicions after digging around his wallet.

The rest of the story is one big chase from there.

BUT - we pause. We learn more about Kitten and the past she has run away from. The person who hurt her. Who made her up and leave everything she knew and the little pot of people she loved.

Kitten's past and Caden's present all mesh together.

The suspense will have you gripping and wanting for more.
The end will leave you wanting to chuck your e-reader across the room because yes, it leaves you hanging on that cliff (you get what I'm saying?)...

BUT - I will wait because I really want to know what the hell happens with Kitten, Caden and the P.O.S. Jacob.

And I hope we finally get more details on Caden.

Why 3.5 stars? - I personally couldn't stand how Caden was with Kitten. He was sweet, don't get me wrong, but the whole "you're not allowed to touch me or I leave" drama had my eyes rolling a few times.

I thought it was unfair that she was willing to let him do whatever he wanted to her, relinquished her "trust" to him but he couldn't trust her enough to at least give her something she wanted.

Holy Crap! My heart is a thundering mess and I am frazzled! That is how I felt after getting to the end of this one! You know it is a great book if you go to bed still thinking of it and it is on your mind first thing in the morning!! I was expecting it to be about lots of dirty fun in the bedroom, but it was way more than that. Bound by Lies has a serious and somewhat dark storyline and in the end I was flipping the pages so fast to see how things played out!

The whole story is from the main characters perspective, who I am going to name Kitten, and it often shifts between the past and present. I was able to see how she first met Caden and how their secret relationship has evolved. I liked seeing these past and present stories, as we could see how she completely gave herself to him, and how his secrets and dark ways didn't really bother her. But also, we saw what happened to her in her past to make her the broken and fragile person that she hides behind her walls. So when she did shatter, I was able to understand why.

Caden is so mysterious, he has his secrets and he is pushed to the edge quite often. We learn a little about him along the way, but the real bomb comes toward the end of the book. The passion between the two characters is scorching. They know each others limits and are often pushed over the edge. There is some Bondage, but nothing over the top like some erotic stories; just enough to learn how to trust. Both characters give so much to one another that in the end they find it hard to be separated.

All the characters have been shaped perfectly for this story. I loved Kitten and Caden, how broken they both are and how they find it hard to reveal their true selves. There is a character in the book that had my heart beating so fast and not in a good way. He is a very emotional character and his mood can shift so fast and abruptly. There are a few other characters that played small support roles and they gave greater depth to the story as well.

Hanna Peach is not a new author to me; I have read her Dark Angel series and loved being in the fantasy world she created there. But this was something new and so different and I can't explain how much I enjoyed it. I wasn't at all expecting the direction of the story but the plot gripped me until that final page, leaving me wanting the next book immediately! It becomes quite emotional as Kitten's already broken heart shatters further when the secrets that were supposed to be kept hidden are revealed… Jump onto this book as soon as possible people! You won’t be disappointed!!

Well what can I say? I have just finished reading this and I have actual honest to goodness tears running down my face. I was not expecting that. I went into this with a fan handy for the steamy scenes I was expecting. Yes they were there but there was so much more, and I mean so much more.

I am a fan of Ms Peach from Dark Angel books but to say that she has entered an entirely new level of awesomeness just doesn't cut it. This book has got to be one of the best I have read in a long time and I read A LOT. I am trying my best to not gush at the moment but I know I am failing miserably!

The book centres around a young woman on the run from her past. Even now she looks at everyone she passes with suspicion but in doing so she has stayed alive. That's all she wants to do, live. Yes she picks up men in clubs and sleeps with them but she is happy, until the night she meets HIM, Cade.

They both have their secrets and they are both willing to have their own version of a relationship under certain terms. But what happen when those terms are no longer enough, when those rules he placed are itching to be broken. When the truth comes out what will happen, will the small piece of her heart she had left be broken?

Beyond this I'm not going to say anything more except when the truth about Cade started to come out I could not put the book down. The 'friends' that she has made all play a great part in the story and the flash backs to her past and previous encounters all blended together brilliantly. After the ending of this I cannot wait to see where they will go and if they will remain together. You know in the end that they will come back to one another, after all, they are Bound.

I was honoured to receive an ARC of this from the author but I would have been glad to pay the full price of a well known author. It was that good and I can only hope that it receives the recognition that it truly deserves.

Holy wow!! This book...I was literally biting my lip, hunch-shouldered, with a tightness in my gut the entire way through! And it was OH.SO.GOOD!

It wasn't until I started to write this review that I realized I don't even know the real name of the MC. Caden (I'll get to him in a minute) refers to her as Kitten, so that's what I'm going with. Kitten is broken. She can't completely trust anyone. She can't open up and be totally honest with anyone. She lives her life on the fringes, knowing she can't get close to anyone because she'll eventually have to leave them. Meeting Caden changes things. Caden allows her intimacy without sharing her secrets. And he has his fair share of those as well. So we watch as these two broken people try to make each other whole - in the only way they can. Eventually though, it's not enough for Kitten and her curiosity gets the best of her.

The story is told from Kitten's POV and alternates between the past and present. In this way, we are privy not only to her thoughts and feelings in the present, but we see earlier meetings between she and Caden - how their relationship progressed - and we see her past - how she ended up so broken and on the run. The tension - and there is so much of it - is created through Kitten's anxiety over when she'll see Caden again as well as her actions once she decides she wants to know more about him.

Caden is an enigma. He has his rules that must be followed when he and Kitten are together. He won't share any details about his life with her - not basic ones anyway. He does drop hints but that only serves to make him more mysterious. What I know - he is protective of Kitten - he would lay down his life for her - and I guess that's enough for me.

When Kitten and Caden are together, they are combustible! Oh my! If bondage isn't your thing, don't worry. This is not a BDSM book. The binding and blindfolding are just a part of Caden's brokenness. But the way Caden make Kitten feel is conveyed so well. I understood Kitten feeling:

"This constant dull ache for him crescendos into a crushing fist deep in my belly. Like always, it gets worse when I know exactly when I'll see him next."

And I will never look at dark chocolate ice cream the same way again. *swoon*

When Kitten starts looking into Caden, her past becomes entangled with her present. The conclusions she begins to draw elicit the fear she's tried to bury. And yet she showed so much strength of will.

"You won't realize how strong you are until you are given no other choice."

The sequence of events that occur once she decides she wants more from Caden was shocking. As revelations are made, I became more and more anxious. I tried puzzling it out as it was unfolding and I never saw it coming! I find it ironic that Caden gave Kitten a name that embodied the curiosity which put her in the situation of having to flee 5 years ago, and in her current predicament.

Bound by Lies is dark, twisty, well-written, tense and thrilling. It was so much more than I was expecting. This is my first read from Ms. Peach and I've already one-clicked the first in her urban fantasy series. I'm glad I can read something else from her while I'm (im)patiently awaiting the next in the Bound series.

HOLY COW BATMAN...I LUVED THIS BOOK HARD!!!!

I broke one of my rules when reading this book, I read tooo many previous reviews and wish I had not. I told my self many..many books ago to never read into reviews because in the beginning I would have missed out on some of my very favorite books. And this could have been one of them. I really..really loved this book. A Lot!!! This is the first book in a two book series..if I read that correctly. I am pretty sure that the 2nd book will be the conclusion as per Goodreads :) And I can not wait to read it too!!!! And it's already out..so noooo waiting to read..woop woop!

Anyway, this is a book about a girl...Kitten (we don't learn her name in the first book) that has been through a wonderful relationship with a man named Jacob, but ends up being in one of the worst type of relationships as the story goes on. She goes into hiding and running from this man to keep herself safe. But as she runs..she does this in a not so safe way; sleeping with numerous men trying to numb her pain. She is broken, a lonely soul, a scared runaway.

She then meets this man Caden Thaine..
"He is a sinfully beautiful man I have ever seen. But more than that, his touch sets me on fire. And dear God, do I ache for him."
But...Our love is on his terms. He contacts me only through notes-unpredictable and untraceable. He can touch me, but I'm not allowed to touch him. When we make love, its only after I have been bound and blindfolded. It's the only time I truly feel alive. Which is why I play along with it. For now.

Caden has his own secrets going on and you will be left on the end of your seat to the very end dying to know what they are..
This book is full of Suspense, HAWT romance, Thriller, Dark..it has it all and I loved every minute of it!! This was my first read by Author Hanna Peach and it will definitely will not be my last!! :)

When I first started this book, it took me a bit to get into due to the timeline flips around through the years..but after I got use to the flipping back and forth I loved it and I loved this way of telling the story..did I mention that I loved this book..lol..sorry, just really excited about it!!

I will leave you at that and I hope that you pick it up and give it a read!!! Sooo good!!

I gave this book 5 Smooches and would have given a lot more if I could have!!

It has been a rare thing lately where something has wow'd me to the point of five stars. Especially a popular book. Normally I get that whole overrated vibe and its hard for me to connect. I connected from the very first page.

Hanna has dove head first into the dark romance genre and has come out on top for me. There is a gritty flow to this story that had me turning my kindle pages and going OH. EM. GEE. so many times I was shaking the poor eReader in my hands. This was not the hand kind of shaking either. I felt like the author handled this whole story idea brilliant. From beginning to end I was engaged and routing for the the female lead, and wanting to kick the male lead in the rear end. I had moments when I was sobbing, I had moments of rage, and I had moments when I was screaming!

For the most part I love that Ms. Peach showed the female lead 'get out'. You have so many instances where the author leaves the female character in this hopeless situation and she doesn't fight for her life. The other cool part about this book is you never find out the lead females name. We are given nicknames for her. This is all because the character is on the run and technically 'nameless'. This whole set up adds to the theme of the story.

There was action, gun battles, fights, great sex, engaging characters, and everything else I look for in a dark romance. I hate when authors go over the top and this author kept it right on the money. Caden is truly and Alpha male. I love a man that has a gun, knows how to use it, and knows how to take care of a woman. Technically, he's taking care of kitten the whole story and she has no clue. At the end of the day this read is one of my tops for this year so far and I'm DYING for book TWO!!!!!

Caden is pushing my buttons and kitten is making route for her more and more! Fantastic beginning!

****** I have received this ARC for my honest review**********

Story:

A girl in college that meets a guy, she is so young and naive that she doesn't realize he is all wrong for her. She decides to run from him when she see 's him kill another person. She goes to a club called Bound to meet guys to have sex. After being on the run for 3 yrs, she meets a guy named Caden. He calls her Kitten, he doesn't know her real name. He knows nothing about her. She knows he is hiding secrets of his own. Caden would send a message to Kitten when he wanted to meet her. It would have a place and time. They never meet at either apartments. He never allows her to touch him. She must be blind folded and bound before they could be together sexually. He never changes in front of her, always behind a locked bathroom door. One night she finds he has left his pants behind. She finds a wallet, it contains a license with his photo and name. Also finds credit cards with someone else name.

My view:

This is the 1st book from this author that I have read. The story has a great flow to it. The characters are very strong. It has the right amount of suspense. Some readers might be turned off by the sexual content. I describe this story as....author, James Patterson, meets Christian Grey that has a Mafia side. I can't wait to read the next book. **** This is a must read ****

WOW! Where do I begin? I'll preface this by saying that Hannah Peach is an author who has just gained a loyal fan! Bound by Lies was one of those books that I could not put down once I started it, and I actually read it in one day. There were so many things that I loved about it: the intensity of the characters, the storyline, and that twist at the end! I love books that throw in a surprise when you least expect it! The book takes you through the emotionally intense relationship between Caden and, well, as he calls her, kitten (which I think is so adorable!). We learn more about her and her secrets and her painful past throughout the story, and then we're hit with an interesting and not at all expected fact about Caden. Hannah Peach did an amazing job of going back and forth between what is happening in the present and flashes of events from the past that help us better understand the characters' background, entwining both to create an engaging plot filled with mystery, a steamy romance, and intense emotions! I highly recommend it!

Wow! I was not expecting the adrenaline rush that this book had in store for me. After escaping an abusive and destructive relationship and building a new life for herself "Kitten" finally feels free of her past. After a seemingly chance meeting with Caden Thaine, her life quickly begins to unravel and the evil from her past catches up with her. This book had my heart racing from page one and I can't wait to read the conclusion in Bound Forever.

5 out of 5 outrageous stars

*** ARC provided in exchange for a honest review ***

Kitten is scarred by her past, and she feels that the only way that gives her back the control she once lost is to feel the power she has over men when using them sexually. However, one night at a club, she meets Caden Thaine, who makes her question her motives and MO. He offers her a deal: an exclusive relationship where Kitten is at Cade's beck and call, and on his terms.

But soon, Kittens starts longing not only for the sexual release Cade provides her with. She wants to get to know him, even though they had agreed not to share any personal details. The more she digs, the more she gets suspicious and believes Cade has a direct link to her painful past.

I do understand why a few reviewers filed a DNF at 30% of Bound By Lies, and to be honest, I was close to making that call too, for the following reasons.

1. I thought that an author providing the below statement at the beginning of their erotic novel has got to be kidding or be really bad at writing steamy scenes:
"For the sole purpose of ensuring the story flows, references to condom use have been removed from the sex scenes."
Wrong. The missing condom-reference did not hurt a bit and the author's writing is really a good one.

2. Is this going to be another 50 Shades of Grey, where the guy uses restrains and blindfolds because he doesn't want to be touched or his body to be seen because it reveals his terrifying past? Puh-lease no.
Wrong. That's just a tiny little detail in the light of the complete book.

3. Oh wait. How come this promiscuous girl (not ashamed of using men for sex and walking around in skimpy dresses) suddenly starts to care for what one complete stranger thinks about her behavior? And suddenly she gives up the control she loves so much over to this guy willingly and obligingly?
Not totally wrong. I agree that doesn't seem to work and is something highly debatable, but let's just accept this and read on, because I promise, you will be... Blown. Away.

I think the book just takes some time until it takes off, but then it really does. Bound By Lies then becomes an absolutely thrilling-page turner.

As it is written in first-person and from Kitten's POV, you will slowly find out what happened to Kitten that made her so emotionally unavailable and scared of loosing control. But with Cade, she feels a connection, and feels like he could be the person she could talk to. In fact, she wishes more than nothing they could bare their souls to each other and have their own "version of togetherness".

But as Cade crushes her hopes in exploring their relationships further, Kitten gets braver and bolder at every pageturn and starts digging on her own. The information she finds is more than disturbing and casts a shadow over Cade's real identity.

Suddenly, all the trust she put into him is hanging on a barely there thread.

I can't even begin to tell you just how great this book turned out to be, as much as I refused to put it down until I was through with it. The book really resembled a gripping Nordic detective novel. After that clumsy book opening, everything just got much more interesting and actually started to make sense. Of course, you will understand my disappointment at finding out that this book is only part 1, and just the beginning of Cade and Kitten's story. Beware of the nasty cliffhanger!

And with the added bonus of very steamy scenes, you find yourself reading a state of the art (not-your-average) erotic suspense novel, which I highly recommend and will gladly add to my "best books 2014" bookshelf, provide the sequel doesn't top it.

Kitten. Princess. We never know her name, but we become pretty damn well acquainted with her fear.

We first meet our nameless narrator at a club, where she meets Caden Thain for the first time. Caden saves her from a guy who isn’t too keen on “no” as the answer, and when she tries to come on to Caden, he refuses. He sees her home safely, then asks her to meet him at a bar a few days later.

That’s when the notes start.

It’s the only contact they have outside of the times they’re together, and it takes several months for them to actually have sex. When they do, she’s always blindfolded and her hands are always tied. She’s not allowed to touch him. She’s not allowed to see him naked. She doesn’t lack for pleasure, but after a while, what they share is no longer enough. So she follows Caden, and realizes she should have run far, far away when she had the chance.

There’s a clear dividing line with Bound by Lies. The first half reads like an erotic romance, full of uncertainty and lust, but you feel her frustration rising the longer she goes without being able to so much as touch Caden while they’re fucking. It’s painful, not being able to hold him tight, not knowing what his chest feels like under her hands. The second half is when her life has spun out of control and she realizes that Caden is even less than what she’d thought he was. The pace picks up and jerks back and forth between her past (and what a horrible past it is) and the present.

If that’s a little vague, it’s on purpose. We learn what she’s hiding, and why, and what she’s done to save herself. We learn who Caden really is, but by the time the story’s over, there actually isn’t much that we do know. But there’s only so much you can say about Lies before you start to spoil the story, and I’d rather you read it yourself. C’mon. You know you want to.

It’s a quick read, and I found myself doing the “just one more chapter” justification a few times. She, whoever she is, is strong and sassy, determined to make up for the events that broke her years ago and sent her on the run. I liked her resolve. But while on some level I could understand why she gave in to Caden so quickly and so often, I wish she’d stood her ground a bit more. And even though Caden insisted she be restrained, he wasn’t one of those uber-alphaholes so popular today (thank GOD). By the end, though, we ultimately end up knowing more about her by default, since she’s our guide through this story. As I said before, we do learn who Caden really is, but what we learn is his true identity – the kind of thing you’d find on paper. She expresses her frustration with this, wanting to know if he ate eggs in the morning or read the paper. The man is a mystery wrapped in an enigma cloaked in a puzzle, and I hope in the next book she untangles more of him and who his and who he is to her and why.

Suspend reality for a while and curl up with Bound by Lies, and before you know it, it’s a few hours later and you’re done. It’s that kind of book.

This is my first romantic suspense thriller, and I'll say it right now, if this is the standard that I will judge all other RSTs by, then watch out! Can I just say that this book was pretty fantastic?

I seriously didn't know what to expect when I first picked this one up. I loved the cover and the synopsis sounded interesting, but we all know how that can be deceiving. This book lived up to my expectations plus some!

The MC...what is her freaking name? I'm pretty sure we are never told her name. That's pretty cool too, since the MC has an intense past (and a very abusive ex-boyfriend) that she is running from. So it's like she is keeping anonymous in the book and to the readers. Very cool.

Her character was annoying at times, but she was well within her right to be. She was scared and paranoid of her past catching up to her and hurting the new people she'd met in her secret new life. I don't blame her one bit. She was a very broken individual who used anon sex to smother her fears and pain. Reminded me of Never in the Never Say Never series by CM Stunich. Didn't work for either characters. In fact, it made both of their lives worse.

Then our MC meets Caden Thaine. Ah, Caden. He was one sexy pain in the ass with plenty of secrets of his own. One secret in particular you will not see coming. Literally, I was like WHAT THE F***??? Got blindsided completely. But there are still plenty of secrets to discover about Caden, especially why he insists on not letting "Kitten" (the MC) touch him.

That drove me crazy the entire book. My mind is still reeling from the possibilities of why he won't let his lover touch anything below his face. Seriously. Though the sex scenes were hot, we never got to see them through the MC's eyes because she was most often blindfolded. And tied up so she couldn't touch him. It's driving me insane not knowing!

I loved the flashbacks of how our MC became so utterly broken. Though scary and sad, they were crazy exciting! Even more exciting? Caden is somehow mixed up in all of it. It's what makes them BOUND. The entire truth is still not known to us, but damn, I'm excited to find out! Plus, I must know more about Caden!

There was plenty of action and danger in this book as well. Loved that! Kicked the excitement factor up another few notches. I literally was grabbing my reader every spare moment I had so I could get this book finished. That's how exciting it was for me. Well done, Hanna Peach. Well done.

Do I recommend? Oh, HELL YES! You can request it from Xpresso Book Tours like I did, or be an even cooler mofo and BUY IT! It would be totally worth every cent. I can't wait for the next book!

Wow! This was such a stunning book! One of my favourite reads ever! Full review to follow.

‘Bound by Lies’ is one of those books that has turned me into an addict. As soon as I finished reading I immediately started squealing and blubbering away to anyone who would listen about the amazing awesomeness of this book, before I proceeded to goodreads the series to find out when the next book would be released. No date as of yet, but as I’m now an addict, I check goodreads every day to see whether a release day has been announced.
This story was absolutely phenomenal. I have felt a little let down by some of the erotic novels I have read of late, so really hoped that this one would live up to its intriguing blurb. It surpassed all my expectations, and my god was it amazing.
This is a very character driven novel, which I adore. I loved to see the ways that main character Kitten (she never divulges her real name!) developed throughout the story. She is hiding from a painful past, which was so much more heartbreaking than I first imagined, and I revelled in every scene that she had with Caden as she became a little stronger and finding a part of herself that she had lost, just as he did with her.
The mystery of Caden’s real identity was paced to perfection, and I was left wondering throughout the book just how much we really knew of him, and fighting the trust that I felt for him because of his love for Kitten, even as I hoped more than anything that there was a good reason for his secrecy.
Author Hanna Peach has a real talent with words, and the erotic scenes were written in a classy way which was such a pleasure to read after I’d read a few too many cringy erotica novels. The sensual style of writing was combined brilliantly with the mysterious and almost suspenseful meetings between Caden and Kitten, and there was something so fresh about it that I just can’t wait to read more from this author again.
The storyline is a really emotional and breathtaking one. I don’t want to give away any details for fear of spoilers, but I promise you will not regret downloading this book today. It is up there with my top favourites, and has become a part of me as I wait in anticipation to see how Caden and Kitten’s story continues in the next book in the series.

4 HOT stars!

Bound by Lies was an unexpected story! I went in reading this story thinking it was going to be one thing and then it twisted and changed and went into new directions that took me by surprise and sucked me in!

Bound by Lies feels like it is set up as two different books (but they are seamlessly entwined). The majority of the book you are reading a erotic story about Caden and Kitten and getting flashbacks to how their unusual relationship starts. Then we start to get insights into Kitten's (the narrator's) past and learn that maybe this story isn't just about two broken people who like a specific kink, the story changes into a more suspenseful and layered story that ends just when you get hooked! (Well played, Hanna, well played)

Hanna Peach does great job showing the reader how Caden and Kitten meet while mixing bits from their past six months together in flashbacks The flashbacks to the past were clearly understood and set up in a way that kept the story flowing and interesting. My only wish while reading the book, was to get more heat and explicit in the moments between Caden and Kitten. I guess I was expecting a more erotica level of heat, but once I got over myself I was able to get past it. What I did really enjoy about Hanna Peach's writing was her ability to let you into the characters thinking and letting the characters be genuine, flawed and real.

Bound by Lies really took me by surprise, I wasn't expecting the switch into a more suspenseful and action packed story but I am sold! I can't wait to get my hands on book 2 (which is coming out mid/late 2014), I desperately want to see how this all plays out and if we get to dive more into Caden's background, but whatever actually happens in book two I know I am sold on the Bound series!

The premise of the book caught my attention. It's all so mysterious and alluring; getting a note in your mail box with a location and time to meet, but never knowing WHEN those notes will come.

While we never actually learn the heroine's name, we know she's gone into hiding after an extremely abusive and controlling relationship. She goes to great lengths to ensure that she leaves no trace; everything she does is in cash.

Caden Thaine is not what he seems. After "saving" her from an aggressive bar patron, he tries to warn her off, telling her that he wouldn't be good for her. He has rules, if they are going to embark on a relationship of sorts. No touching and no seeing him naked.

She readily agrees, because she feels alive and safe with him. For some reason being pinned by him relaxes me. It is like Valium and I am already addicted.

After a few months, she decides she wants and needs more of him. She follows him and make discoveries that send her back to her past.

This book is a good, easy read. Hanna takes you back and forth, present and past, to explain the reasons the lead female is the way she is. It helps you get a good understanding of where she's coming from.

Caden remains mysterious until the end. There is a cliff hanger ending, so if you don't like those, you'll want to wait until book 2, Bound By Fear comes out later this year.

Good plot, steamy sex, and you get the sense that there are actual feelings involved, not just on her side, but on Caden's also.

If you like your sex hot and your plots gripping and dark, then Bound By Lies is for you. Hanna Peach builds the tension and the suspense as the heroine, a woman so terrified she hides her real identity from everyone, even the reader. But after five years of running she cautiously claws her way towards trusting someone, only to discover that the man she chooses to put her faith in, Caden Thaine, has disturbing secrets of his own.
Cade is a sensuous and dominant lover, but he has a dark and sinister side and is altogether too fond of his rules. Even so, he has a gentleness and sensitivity about him that ‘kitten’ can’t resist, even though she finds his demands increasingly unreasonable. When a mix of curiosity and bone-deep caution force her to pry into his secrets, Kitten finds that her delightfully wicked lover has secrets of his own and he may just turn out to be the most dangerous man she has ever met. Nearly.
This is not a book for the faint-hearted, including scenes of violence and cruelty. However with a strong cast of secondary characters this story has depth and raw passion too. It is well written and compelling, Ms Peach certainly has a clever way with words. Intensely emotional, the action is fast paced and dramatic and builds to a tense climax. I found myself really rooting for Kitten and for Cade, though I suspect there are hard times ahead for them both.
This is just the start of the story. The book ends on a cliff hanger and I will definitely be looking out for book two in the series to find out how life pans out for these lovers.

This book is scorchingly and dangerously sexy and titillating. Peppered with heart-tugging and amusing one liners, characters you feel like you wanna have a drink with (well all except for one), and scenes that almost make you feel like you were there in a deja vu way (does that make sense?). With every scene, I felt like I was that "fly on the wall" - Hanna (author) has the ability to make you squirm, make your heart sigh, fill your senses with dread and delight/shock your entire being with the most evocative sex scenes.

That is just on a superficial layer. On a deeper level, Hanna is the Orchestrator of Intrigue and Twists...a real page turner. I was kept guessing as more and more questions were raised as the story unravelled. I was not disappointed with the ending - a twist upon a twist upon a twist:)

A very surprising departure from the urban fantasy genre of her Dark Angel series (which I also love and recommend) . I completely blame her for making me catch the wrong train and turning up late for work (happened 2 times)...what can I say? I was riveted to my Kindle screen:) It really felt like a guilty pleasure - sometimes I would draw my Kindle screen closer to my chest in case any nosey parker chanced upon reading one of the racy scenes - *blush*.

She really is a fantastic author who writes with intelligence and flair. Hurry up and write the next book!

I'm in hiding from myself and others. Only staying under the radar will keep me safe from Him. I can only rely on myself. I'm in a constant state of need that I can only find thru BDSM or so I thought until I met tall dark and deadly~Caden Thaine. I only feel alive when he's near but I have to follow his rules which confuse and fascinate me at the same time. I store up all our special moments together. I ask myself how I could let myself be trapped again yet the answer is simple because there is freedom with Cade that I didn't have with Him. What is my identity? Will the past catch up with me? Who is Cade Thaine really? Your answers await you in Bound by Lies.

This book fascinates me in ways I can't really explain even to myself. Yet I'm sucked into the storytelling all the same. The main character I'll call her Kitten because her real name isn't given. Kitten knows what it means to survive and be afraid. She can't let her guard down for even a minute. All this is true until Caden Thaine enters the picture. Cade places rules around their relationship because he wants Kitten to trust him. I'm anxious to see where this series is going to go.
