High in the mountains of Ancient Norway, a boy wakes to find himself bleeding in the snow, with no memory of who he is or how he got there. All he knows is that something is chasing him, and he must keep on going if he wishes to live. With nothing but a broken knife, tattered clothes, and an old rope, he sets of into the grey-white netherworld of the Norse peaks.

As the unknown phantom chasing him draws nearer, the boy is forced to take more and more chances. Each time death draws near, he gains one sliver more of his former life. In time, he learns things. His name is Hald. He came from an isolated village untold miles behind him. And he is heading East at the bidding of a crazy old hermit whose name he never learned.

Hald travels on, kept alive by sheer force of will. As the danger grows and the shadows of his worst fears begin to stalk him from the trees, he no longer cares why he came, or where he is going.

He only wants to survive.

I'm the author of a few books and the drinker of many smoothies. My interests in writing are primarily fantastic things and true things. I suppose you could call that Good Stories and Theology. If I had to pick a favorite genre, it would be fantasy, but there are good books in nearly every corner of the library, so to speak.
