The name Zander Olsen is synonymous with no repeats, no attachments, and pursuing beautiful women he leaves in the dust after he’s conquered them. I knew his rules going into our arrangement. I shouldn’t have thought I’d be any different. Yet, we somehow discovered something amazing together during our tropical vacation that changed my life forever. I thought it changed him, too. Instead, he told me forever was a lie and thoroughly blocked me from his life the second we returned. Why is he back now? And what gives him the right to be so interested in my son after all this time? Zander’s the one man who has the power to ruin my life and I won’t let him do that to me again, even if my body wants to betray me every time he gets close.
ZANDER
Harlowe Sorenson is the only woman I was willing to break my rules for, and in the end, it burned us both. I put my career and the growth of Olympus International first in my life, so I can’t let women stick around long enough to distract me from that goal, not even one as vivacious, challenging, and captivating as her. Falling for Harlowe wasn’t in my plans, so I cut out my heart and crushed hers thoroughly to ensure she wouldn’t be a problem. I’d almost forgotten about her. So why, after crashing into her five years later, am I still drawn to her and have too many questions about her carefully guarded son? A son who looks more like me than he should. I need to get these answers without risking my business, my heart, and hers in the process, or I’ll have hell to pay once again.

Second Chance - Billionaire - Single Mom
This is the third book in the Southern Gods series and it can be read as a complete stand alone .
This book was given to me for honest review by Grey’s Promotions .
"Everything sits up and takes notice when Zander Olsen arrives. Even my nipples are straining through the lace of my bra and poking at my tight, dove-gray top. His eyes clock the traitors and a ghost of a smile crosses his lips. My lips flatten in response, even if my nipples refuse to."
5/5 Stars 5/5 Spice
I want to thank Grey's Promotions for once again letting me continue this journey in the "Southern Gods" series by Adrain R. Hale. I took a chance on signing up for book 1 never having read her before and I'm so glad I did because she has turned into one of my favorite authors. I recommend reading the books in order. Even though this is a standalone, you get cameos from characters from the previous books not to mention you get insight on what Zander is like in the previous two.
As the series name implies, Adrain R. Hale has taken inspiration from Greek Mythology. While the first two books brought us Hades and Persephone. The Southern Thirst Trap brings us inspiration from Zeus and Hera. Adrian gives us subtle hints throughout the book on who the Greek gods' inspirations are.
Zander Olsen is the youngest of the three Olsen brothers. He is the well-known player of the three brothers. His philosophy when it comes to women is "no repeats, no attachments, and no commitments." He loves to tap it once and block them after. There's only one woman with whom he had broken the rules he set for himself once and that was with non other than supermodel Harlowe Sorenson, the woman is sexy, spicey, and feisty. What applied to her to him was the fact unlike other women, she wasn't begging to sleep with him, he had to go to her something he wasn't used to. The two agree to spend two weeks in paradise with nothing but fun and another kind of fun.
The two of them form a connection that Zander himself can't deny, he likes her, and he is falling for her but his first love and duty is to his job. Harlowe is feeling the same way and thinks perhaps he will be different with her. And like his usual self, he already broke his rules for her so once they return he goes back to his old self and blocks her on everything.
Five years later, Harlowe still enters his mind from time to time. And by chance, he happens to read an article finding out that she's no longer a model but an influencer on YouTube and Instagram sharing her love for food. He also learns she has a new beau but the real kicker is, that she has a four-year-old son which leaves him wondering if the kid is his. As fate has in store, one accident brings Harlowe back into his life and Zander will do anything to get back the woman he let go so long ago.
I love watching the growth of each character. Zander learns how wrong he was to do what he did to Harlowe. He saw how much time he missed out on loving this woman but not only that he missed out on moments in his son's life. He also learns how wrong he was in the past to other women as well. Harlowe learns to love herself, her ethnic background, and her body (which is something she had low self-esteem and thought that was one reason why Zander had left her), she also learns a womanizer can change. She was majorly hurt by him in the past and didn't want a man in her son's life who would just leave once he got bored of her and being a father but she took a chance and allowed Zander back in.
This book is and isn't a slow burn. The reason why I say this isn't because a lot of the spice that takes place throughout the book takes place five years in the past. The slow burn part of the actual book takes place in the present and one could understand why it took time for them to come together once more because of the heartache Harlowe dealt with. Honestly, the spice in the past and present was truly written flawlessly. I loved all the spicey scenes.
Adrian did such an amazing job with this story and with the characters. I can't wait to read the next book for the next brother and read any future books in this series.
I was hooked from word go. I love everything about The Southern Thirst Trap! The characters were great, Harlowe is amazing, and I loved Zander’s growth. This book was so much fun and I couldn’t put it down. I can’t wait to read Payton’s story next!
This is the third book of the Southern Gods series and follows the third Olsen brother, Zander, on his journey to find love. It can be read as a stand-alone, but The Bourbon Bride & The Bourbon Bargain duet are books 1-2 if you like to start series at the beginning.
Harlowe is the definition of a fierce FMC. She loves fiercely, she protects fiercely, and she's fiercely loyal. Zander is the fuck boy billionaire that always closes the tough deals. He's an alpha MMC to a T. But wouldn't it be great to see that type of man turned into a groveling reformed fuck boy?!
Harlowe + Zander are electric. Sparks fly from the first. They have a passion filled two weeks in the Maldives, and Harlowe soon learns that sometimes actions have consequences.
If you enjoy billionaire, second chance, hate to love, single mom, and man obsessed story with a dual timeline this book is for you!
Adrian R. Hale whipped up a feast fit for the gods with “The Southern Thirst Trap.” This third installment of her Southern Gods series turns up the heat by serving a flavorful story that expertly balances drama, intense spice, and sweetness, with a twist of fate. Trust me, “The Southern Thirst Trap” is delicious.
The story unfolds through a dual point of view and timeline. Zander Olsen, the youngest Olsen brother, and CEO of Olympus International, is a renowned player, with a one-time no-repeats rule, and an adrenaline junkie. Harlowe Sorenson is a young up-and-coming supermodel with a passion for cooking.
Their love story begins when Zander, enthralled by Harlowe’s Sports Illustrated cover, continually attempts to seduce her despite her constant reluctance to his many advances. Once Harlowe finally agrees, Zander whisks her away to the Maldives for a two-week no-strings-attached, sex-filled, and adventurous vacation. Their tropical vacation is a turning point in their lives. However, the return to reality brings a harsh awakening, leading to a heartbreaking separation. Zander breaks the promises he made to Harlowe, leaving her devastated and with a gift she never expected.
Fast forward five years, Harlowe transitioned from supermodel to a popular social media blogger, The Foulmouthed Foodie, sharing her recipe creations and posting spicy selfies, and is a single mother. She has gained significant attention nationally and in her hometown of Atlanta. When Zander stumbles upon an Atlanta Haute List blog post about Harlowe, he is left with a few lingering thoughts: 1) Harlowe is still a goddess; 2) who is this man she is dating; 3) who knocked her up; and 4) do I have a son? He certainly did not anticipate the Fates to bring him face-to-face to Harlowe on the side of i85 within minutes of reading the post.
“The Southern Thirst Trap” is more than a second-chance, billionaire romance. Adrian wrote scenes from Harlowe's perspective that resonate with me, particularly Harlowe's thoughts and experiences about fitting in and finding a place for herself as a mixed Asian woman.
What I Love & Why You Should Read It:
· THE CHARACTERS, Zander and Harlowe are so well-developed and their personal growth throughout the story is truly compelling.
· THE EMOTIONAL DEPTH of the storyline really drew me in. Harlowe's journey after returning from the Maldives was particularly moving.
· THE SIZZLING CHEMISTRY between Harlowe and Zander is instant and electrifying, a perfect mix of desire and denial that keeps the pages turning.
· THE FAMILY DYNAMIC with the introduction of Harlowe’s son adds a lovely layer of complexity to the story, and Zander's relationship with him is tender and heartwarming.
· THE REDEMPTION ARC makes a satisfying storyline when Zander transforms from a ruthless businessman – the god-king with the perfectly arranged life – to a man willing to risk everything for love.
· SMALL DETAILS IS A BRILLIANT TOUCH with the incorporation of Greek mythology into the core characters' personality traits and the overall storyline.
· ADRIAN'S WRITING STYLE is simply outstanding. She weaves together drama, humor, romance, and redemption in a way that completely immerses you in the story.
If you are hungry and want to devour a sweet and spicy book that will capture your heart and not let go, this is the one to pick up. Don’t be surprised if you find yourself savoring every last drop and are thirsty for more.
Enjoy!
Thank you to Adrian R. Hale and Grey Promotions for the opportunity to read “The Southern Thirst Trap” before its release. I am excited to see what's next for the Olsen brothers.
First, I'd like to thank Adrian R. Hale and Greys Promo for sending me an ARC copy in exchange for an honest review. Let me tell you each book gets better and better, because this Harlowe and Zander's story was *CHEFS KISS!*
Right from the beginning you're diving into Harlowe on the way to a pretty awful day, especially when she comes face to face with Zander after 5 years. It's heated, and you can feel the tension is so thick. As you continue to read on, you get some flash backs on what really went down between the two of them five years ago, and I really loved diving into those chapters because it's quickly noticeable that Zander has fallen for Harlowe, but he doesn't do more than one night with women...
"I'm going to love you forever, Lowe, and every time you see lighting, you're going to know the absolute power of my love for you."
Now let me take a hot second here, because the spice... Get yourself a fan, some water, or a damn swimming pool because while time may have passed, their bodies sure remember that vacation in no time. With Harlowe's job, you get this perspective of her not loving the body she has after having a child, yet creating these posts showcasing her assets - almost putting on a show - and I feel for so many mothers that's something you can relate to. But Zander is worshipping every single bit of her, it's not only hot but makes him a super book boyfriend... he gets it and loves her no matter the age, weight, or looks. We stan Zander Olsen!
Overall, this was an amazing read! I loved it from the very beginning, and I could NOT PUT IT DOWN! Wondering what was going to happen between the two of them, especially since Harlowe has had years of firsts without Zander by her side, and trying to move on from an amazing two week vacation where she fell in love with him before he ripped her heart out. It was an emotional roller coaster, and I ate it up! Selfishly, I would have not been mad to read more of their story... But it was perfect!
If you love a second chance romance with a reformed playboy, a secret baby, dual timeline and a whole lot of steam.. Adrian has just delivered it all on a pretty platter and I ate it up.
Zander is the youngest Olsen brother and a notorious playboy who has a set of rules he never breaks. No repeats. And no attachments. Until Harlowe. He is immediately taken by her when they first met and takes her on a two week vacation to Maldives where they both know the score but end up feeling a whole lot more than they planned to. When it starts to feel all too real for Zander, he cuts it off and ghosts her. Over the next five years he thinks of her, but when an accident brings her back into his life he can’t deny those sparks that are starting to reignite.
𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝗲𝘅𝗽𝗲𝗰𝘁: billionaire, second chance, dual timeline, hate to love, secret baby, reformed playboy
Harlowe is a former model turned social media star with a cooking channel and single mama to Hendricks. She’s strong, independent and extremely driven, but she had been so hurt by Zander’s actions five years ago and his reappearance isn’t a welcomed one. She didn’t make it easy for him and I loved that she made him work for it, like the queen she is.
Once Zander finds out just how badly he messed up with Harlowe, he is completely dedicated to getting her back and proving to her that he’s changed. I loved how steadfast he was, not deterred by her reluctance, the way he owned up to his mistakes and showed up for her and Hendricks. His declaration of love is one of my favourites I’ve read, he was so sweet and had me fully on team Zan Man.
We’re given their past in a dual timeline however I do feel like we missed them connecting on a deeper level and I wish we got more of these moments so that I could get fully invested in their reconciliation sooner. There is also a running side storyline that was left mostly unresolved which I’m intrigued to see continued into the next book of the series. I love the dynamic and banter between the brothers, with some laugh out loud moments.
This book is everything I hoped for and more! Dive into the second chance romance of Harlowe and Zander, where sparks fly and hearts mend after five long years. When Zander sees Harlowe again, he realizes two things: he’s never gotten over her, and he has a son—their son.
First off, Harlowe is my new favorite heroine. She's confident, proud of her body, and totally in charge. And Zander? He’s an adrenaline junkie with a dirty mouth and mind—Harlowe and I both ate that up!
I absolutely loved the flashbacks to their past together. They added so much depth and emotion to their story. Honestly, Zander, I get you, but how could you let Lowe go in the first place?! Luckily, Harlowe doesn’t make it easy for him to come back. He has to work for it, but their adorable son loves his dad right away, which is heart-melting.
The chemistry between Harlowe and Zander is off the charts. His heart races even when they talk on the phone! Harlowe’s understanding nature, paired with Zander’s persistence and insatiable passion, made for an irresistible read.
Shoutout to the side characters, who added so much fun and richness to the story. And the epilogue? It tied everything together beautifully. If you love a good second chance romance with all the feels, you need to read this book!
* I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
This is the youngest Olsen Brother Zander’s story! A Second chance Romance. playboy Zander only has one night stands and no repeats when it comes to women. There is one exception, Harlowe. He spent two amazing weeks with this amazing woman in the Maldives. Even though Harlowe knew going into this trip this was for two weeks only no commitment and nothing beyond these two weeks. True to his word Zander ended things completely at the end of the two weeks. Five years later Zander and Harlowe are thrown together again, and due to the Atlanta Haute List Zander finds out Harlowe has a son and the age of her child lives up with their time in the Maldives. I love Zander in this book! He grows so much and fights for what he wants. In the past he was afraid of the love he had for Harlowe but now he is willing to accept his feelings for her and their son! He has to get Harlowe to trust him again after destroying her 5 years earlier. Zander is a loving sexy man who will support the woman he loves! I am ready to see what’s in store doe Payton!
You meet Zander who is an adrenaline junkie who can't stop thinking about someone he wants to try to forget but when he sees the Atlanta Haute website (think gossip girl) and suddenly fate brings these two together again after an unforgettable trip to the Maldives. You realize Harlowe has a secret that Zander will soon find out.
I love the past and present in this book to understand how unforgettable that trip truly was.
Harlowe is a fierce FMC and a single mom! She loves hard, she protects fiercely, and she's super loyal. Zander is a billionaire playboy who closes the tough deals. He's an alpha MMC.
Harlowe and Zander are inevitable. They have a passion filled two weeks in the Maldives, and Harlowe learns that sometimes, your actions have consequences. If you enjoy second chance, hate to love and a billionaire man obsessed with you, this book is for you!
This is book 3 out of the Southern Gods series, but it can be read as a standalone!
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
This is the 3rd book in the series but can be read as a complete standalone.
Who doesn’t love a reformed billionaire playboy determined to show he has learned the error of his ways? Zaddy Zander is everything! The way this man pines for her, shows up for her, yearns for her was fantastic! The tension was tensioning.
I loved Harlowe’s sassy, take-no-shit attitude. She is so witty and hilarious and her IG captions had me rolling! 😆
The tension and pining between these two is next level!
Adrian is so good at writing incredibly complex and realistic characters and these two are no exception! I loved the journey Zander and Harlowe went on to get their HEA. The world Adrian has created is so vivid and real it feels like a film and I need to be involved in casting. 😁
I enjoyed the book and its pace, but I feel like the last 100 pages were a bit rushed. I would've liked to see more interactions between Zander and Hendricks, because the kid only saw the man two times and accepted him as his father.
Zander's a manwhore, plainly speaking. He doesn't usually have to chase women, nor does he stick around or do repeats, but Harlowe's different. He wants her so badly that he actually asks her to spend a couple weeks with him. They go, they have a lot of fun, and feelings develop on both sides. But he doesn't do attachments, so once they get back to reality, he ghosts and blocks her, and moves on with his life, leaving Harlowe to figure out how to move on herself. Now let's not be hasty, Zander may have blocked her, but that doesn't mean he hasn't thought of her plenty in the years since their fling. Now she's back in his orbit thanks to her social media posts, and Zander's really thinking of finding her again. Will she give him the time of day? And what of that adorable son of hers who just may be his too?
Harlowe's learned how to love herself since Zander ghosted her. She's had to in order to be the best mother she can be. She may not have been enough to keep a playboy like Zander, but she's damn sure enough for her son, and she's not about to let the man who tried to break her, come along and do it again, and risk hurting her son. So she'll let Zander into their son's life, but he's not getting back into her heart. Is he? He's the one who told her forever was a lie, so why's he trying to say otherwise now?
I gotta get this out of the way in the beginning - I cannot stand Zander. Harlowe and her adorable son are enough to lift this from 3 to 3.5, rounded up to 4 stars. But Zander is awful, a shameless playboy who knowingly hurt Harlowe because he was a selfish prick. I never thought he deserved a second chance with Harlowe, but she loved him, and the heart wants what it wants. The story itself is great, though, with serious chemistry, and an excellent heroine in Harlowe, and the cutest little boy.
ARC provided by Grey's Promotions for an honest review.
For how much I liked Zander, I didn't like him in this book. He's such a jerk and didn't change or do anything until the last 30% of the book. Harlowe deserved better. So did Henricks. I would have much rather them not ended up together at all. I don't think Zander did nearly enough to make up for all the crap he did. Harlowe should have made him work for it. There should have been them working together after 30% of the book not 70% crap and then last bit him actually making an effort. Not sure I really want to dive into Paytons book. This one left a bad taste for the series.
The Southern Thirst Trap by Adrian R. Hale, is the third book in the Southern Gods Series, Zander Olsen is the youngest of the Olsen Brothers, he is a charismatic and charming guy, along with his brothers he is the owner of the business conglomerate Olympus International, he is the king of no-strings-attached relationships and all the women he gets involved with know how he operates and are warned not to expect more from him. Five years ago he broke his own rule and spent a two weeks vacation with a woman and without imagining it she stole his heart, but that couldn't happen beyond that vacation, his focus had to be on growing the company with his brothers and he decided to cut ties with the girl once came back to reality, but now fate has put them in each other's paths again and Zander can't get her out of his head and ask if her son is his. Harlowe Sorenson is a feisty, independent woman and currently an influencer who shares her love for food on social media. She has a four-year-old son, Hendricks, and has a good life. But when an accident leads her back into Zander's path, she can't stop the feelings she thought were dormant from awakening. Zander is determined to fix the damage done and get Harlowe back, and try to forgive himself for the lost moments in his son's life. I loved this story! I love these brothers, each one is unique and I loved Zander's story, with Lowe the attraction is electric and despite the time they still have incredible chemistry, the growth of both characters is something that I really enjoyed, Zander becomes a man willing to do anything for the woman he loves and his son. That relationship between Zander and Hendricks is magnificent and will fill your heart. Lowe's struggles with self-doubt and not feeling enough, her fight make you connect with her in a more human way. A story full of drama, redemption, humor and a lot of love, make this a wonderful story that you won't want to missed. Highly recommended! *Thanks to Adrian R. Hale and Grey's Promotions for my ARC. I voluntarily leave my honest review*
Altamente Recomendada! *Gracias a Adrian R. Hale y a Grey's Promotions por mi ARC. Dejo voluntariamente mi reseña honesta*
I devoured Zander and Harlowe’s story. I loved every minute I spent with them on their rocky and rough journey. But there were quite a few times were a wanted to slap Zander upside the head. Second chance romances are usually a hit or miss for me. This one was knocked out of the ballpark. So good! I can’t tell you how much I adored and admired Lowe. She is just an amazing woman. I loved her strength and determination. I loved how brave and caring she was. How strong willed she was. No matter what life threw at her she made the best of those situations. I loved her self discovery. And how she went after her dreams. Most of all I love how she sees herself. Zander is the ultimate player. CEO of his family’s multimillion dollar company. He gives 110 percent of himself to the business. He’s dedicated and most definitely a workaholic. His love is for his family and business only. He’s the love’em and leave’em type. It’s a once and done for him. I will give him credit for being upfront with the ladies he spends his once with. He is honest and truthful with them. But he deserved a hit below the belt when it came to Lowe. I could feel the magic that was between them. They had such a special and deep connection. It came to life off the pages. While things on the physical side were sexy and steamy. They had something deeper and meaningful. I absolutely loved the scene where they both felt that they had found a once in a lifetime type of love. I won’t reveal that scene so you can throughly enjoy that magical moment with them. Some of my most favorite scenes were with Lowe and Hendricks. Oh my goodness it was so touching and so endearing. Their beautiful bond just shines through. It was so heartwarming and made my soul so happy. Absolutely beautiful to get to see their love. Ms. Hale’s writing is amazing. Her words come to life off the pages. I could feel all the emotions and turmoil each character experiences. I could see in my minds eye the things taking place and the beautiful details of descriptions of everything. The Maldives, the food photos and all the touching moments with Hendricks. **4.5 stars** Btw I’m so excited for Payton’s book!
I am a secret baby trope lover through and through. Forever my girl?? Ate it up. However, this book I had a hard time reading.
For me, the pacing was off. While I liked the past and present chapters and learning more about how Zander and Harlowe got to where they are now, why did it take until 70% of the book for him to meet Hendricks.
I also think with 70% of the book being about Zander before he tried to make it up to Harlowe, it just made him unredeemable for me. The groveling is minimal and I did not like how he kept saying being a family man would better his image for his company? I think the plot would’ve benefited with more scenes with Hendricks and him actively trying to make it up to them with ACTIONS and not just words. He’d do one bare minimum thing and not understand why Harlowe didn’t forgive him yet???
I also feel like the last 30% was a different Harlowe from the first 70% of the book. She seemed too easy to forgive and trust. Zander barely did anything other than say sweet words to her AGAIN like he did before he ruined her and she just forgives him? And is okay with getting married??? It seemed off character.
This book really had great potential but the character/plot build up were just off. More scenes with Zander working to actively be a part of Hendricks life and maybe less scenes with office issues and the brothers would’ve really benefitted to his character development. I did however like the scene where he tells his brothers that Harlowe is now a #1 priority. If that scene happened earlier?? Oof I would’ve been swooning.
Another thing that bothered me was the racial stereotypes included in the story. While I LOVE diversity in books and I’m sure the author had no ill-intent while writing this, having the Latino character talk about his mom and Chanclas and the Asian character having strange lunches as a kid, just felt weird, stereotypical, and not necessary to the plot.
Thank you to Grey’s promo for this arc in exchange for an honest review! And always - just because a book might not be for me doesn’t mean others won’t enjoy it.

🌺This was a second chance romance that I had been itching to read and did not disappoint. There was a dual time line and so much emotion here. LOVED. Harlowe (FMC) may be one of the most relatable FMCs I’ve read and I so appreciated the realness of her feelings about her postpartum body but that it was not her whole personality (let’s be clear when I say relate I don’t believe I, too, am a retired model lol). I felt for her on so many levels, the struggle of single parenthood coupled with having held something/someone for a brief time and knowing because of it nothing may ever compare. Zander (MMC) was written so well by @adrianehale that I actually hated and loved him equally in the beginning but really adored him as I started to understand who he was and why he acted in sometimes really douchey ways (thank goodness for dual POV).
🌺The story is complex and so good, funny, sweet and hot damn: THE SPICE. I am not above DMing the author emojis and reactions with highlighted screenshots. THE MIRROR SCENE folks. This is full of all the fun little treats you know ya girl eats up from a good gravel, “good girl” moments, “hold onto the headboard” situations, “that’s the mother of my child” 🥵 and (!!!) STFUATTCLAGG. Stop. MEOW.
👋Therapist take: the character development was top notch 👏🏻 This touched on concepts of vulnerability, identity and existential (“who am I?”) themes to the complexity of becoming a parent and dealing with how the body and personality changes. There was grief, rejection and abandonment, parenting pressure and stress and even discussion of sexuality and self acceptance. There was so much pain and heartache and then angst and banter and sweetness that the reader (me) was sucked right in and invested. Even the side characters offered insights and had challenges that were compelling and entertaining.
🌺Oh gosh, I LOVED THIS BOOK. Just read it, you’ll get it. It’s part of a series but I read as a standalone and now will go back to read the first two because DUH. Now on KU woohoo!🌺
The latest book in the Southern Gods series sees daredevil and playboy extraordinaire Zander Olsen finding out that his behaviour has consequences of the nine-month variety when he runs into the one woman he never really forgot. To begin with Zander wasn’t a very likeable character. He had a history of brief flings with woman before moving on, usually leaving his brothers to clean up his mess but model Harlowe had been different. She’d actually made it to a two-week beach vacation before he ran scared and brutally dumped her. Something his brother hammered home when she desperately tried to contact him weeks later. Five years later they meet again just as Zander finds out from a gossip column that she has a four-year-old son.
The Southern Thirst Trap was almost two books in one with the present, more slowburn second chance romance between Zander and Harlowe interspersed with chapters detailing their fast-paced steamy and torrid affair. In the intervening time Harlowe has reinvented herself as the Foul-Mouthed Foodie with her own food show on U-tube while Zander’s life really hasn’t changed that much. The chemistry between them was still just as sizzling but this time around Harlowe has priorities that override any feelings she might have for him and has no intention of allowing her son to be hurt. Meeting Harlowe again forces Zander to take a hard look at himself and not liking what he sees realising how much he has missed but can the adrenaline junkie change the habits of a lifetime and put someone else first for a change. And while Zander and Harlowe’s romance played out, in the background the story arc that had began in the first book of the series with Olympus, the brothers' company under attack continued and I’m thinking this is going to come to a head in Payton’s book.
Ahhh! Adrian has done it again. She has written a wildly fierce FMC named Harlowe (or Lowe) and we finally get to see playboy Zander meet his match.
Zander is known for his one date rule. But when he meets Lowe, who is resistant to his charms, he decidedly breaks this rule and does anything he can to get her to go out with him. When Lowe finally agrees to go out with Zander, it’s for a two week trip to the Maldives. This trip is more than either of them expected. Lowe is just as adventurous as Zander and keeps him on his toes. Needless to say, they definitely fall in love with one another but Zander knows he cannot give Lowe the attention she rightly deserves. At the end of their two weeks, after promises of being “his” and him being “hers,” Zander breaks things off. What they didn’t expect was that they (meaning Lowe) would end up with a lifelong souvenir from their trip together. It isn’t until nearly 5 years later that Zander sees Lowe again and thinks “hey, that grainy picture of that kid kind of looks like me.” After a literal run in with Lowe, he can’t stop thinking about her, or about the kid that is possibly his. And this is where Zander grovels and boyyy does he!
Lowe, of course being the badass she is, makes him prove that he is all in because when it comes to kids, you can’t do anything half in or half out. And Zander is obsessed - with Lowe and their son.
Not gonna lie — I wanted to punch Zander. Lowe deserved so much better but Zaddy did the right thing in the end - proved to Lowe that loves her and their son. Obsessively.
This book made me happy and often made me quite angry but I kind of expected it coming from Zan Man (IYKYK). I’m just glad to see that Zander grew up in this book. Lowe is also a literal queen. Hardworking. Independent. A fantastic mother!
Be careful of the words that spill from your mouth; You can't take them back once they are out there.
"You told me forever was a lie, Zander. You were never mine to have." Zander and Lowe spent two weeks enjoying each other. They clicked in every way. Breaking so many of Zander's rules. He couldn't have that. When they boarded the plane home he closed the door firmly on Lowe and his heart.
"Forget about me. And know I'll do my fracking best to forget about you." I wasn't sure if I wanted to laugh or cry when it came to Zander's messes Zander has always been an egotistical horse's backside. The whole god complex was strong in this one. However, when it came to women he was a downright mongrel. Taste, cleanse, and on to the next Zander was about to get his comeuppance and it was not going to be pretty
"You may have sold me a beautiful lie, but I realized the truth of who you were fast enough." She was young when the modeling world took her soul. But time and Zander and a sweet brown-haired boy changed all that She picked up the broken pieces and put herself back together She learned her lessons the hard way Now she is a force to be reckoned with
"Realize I'm not looking for the next thing, but firmly in the present" The chemistry between these two - who needs an oven Lowe was fighting so hard not to capitulate to Zan, but he had always held her heart. She knew the real him, the man behind the facade. Zander realized that this was what he wanted. The mouthy woman, the little replica, the ups and the downs. He had a second chance and he was going to grab it with all his worth
The story goes back and forth between the present and the past High Heat - Angst - Drama - HEA Another Must Read in the Southrern Gods Series
✨Arc Review✨ The Southern Thirst Trap By Adrian Hale ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5 🌶️🌶️🌶️.75/5
Tropes: Billionaire romance second chance romance hate to love romance reformed playboy single mom vocation romance fierce GMC obsessed MMC
First off I want to thank Greys Promo and Adrian for the arc in exchange for an honest review
I knew I would absolutely love Zander so so so much! This book absolutely blew me away!!! I 100% believe that Zander and Harlowe are soulmates!!
Harlowe has to be my favorite female main character to date. she is so fierce, independent, and such a great mom! She was so good with Hendrix and her personality reminded me a lot of my mom! I loved how she always was able to speak what she was feeling no matter how sad, painful it felt. I loved how she always called Zander out on his shit and put him in his place. I give her a lot of credit for raising a child by herself for 5 years! She is such a strong mama! She made me laugh, cry and aspire to be as strong as she is!
Zander, my baby, the character development with this man is everything. He is a prime example of how one person can come into your life, turn your world upside down and change you for the better. I loved how he actually tried to get his family back, and was finally vulnerable with Lowe. I especially loved how he fit into the dad role so easy and truly loved Hendrix and wanted to be in his life! I especially loved how he was able to have a conversation and discuss everything and clear the air.
I loved the past/present POV, I loved the feels I got from this book, I loved how they fixed their relationship and how he let her take time to trust him. I absolutely loved Hendrix! He was so adorable and I loved his relationship with Lowe and his relationship with Zander! This one was knocked out of the park I cannot wait for Payton’s book!!
Even if it can be read as a standalone, I recommend reading the previous books. The Southern Thirst Trap is the third book in the Southern Gods series. This time, it’s the youngest Olsen brother Zander’s story.
Zander is no repeat, no attachment, and pursuing any beautiful women to leave them after conquered. Harlowe knows the rules, but she thought it would be different after the connection they create during a tropical vacation. He blocked her without a second thought. Now, he is back. What does he really want? Who gives him the right to be interested in her son after years of silence?
If you're a fan of romantic novels that feature second chances, a reformed playboy, a secret baby, a dual timeline, and a lot of spice, this is the book for you. I ate it up. I loved how the past and present were written. I loved Harlowe. She is a fierce and strong single mom. She didn’t let Zander bulldozer her new life. She made him grovel and crawl. I adore every second of it. I mean who doesn’t love a man crawling? Zander and his dirty mouth… oh my god. He knows how to charm and talk dirty in bed. I loved his character development. At the start, he is a real 🍆. The moments with Harlowe’s son were the cutest.
At the end, I was in a happy bubble, but I expected anything at the same time like it was too good to be true. Thank God, Adrian didn’t crash their happiness.
You will find in this book: 💵Billionaire Romance 😎Reformed Playboy 🥈Second Chance 🕰️Dual Timeline 😡Hate to love 🍼Secret Baby ✌️Dual POV 🌶️Spice

Tropes: Second Chance Reformed Billionaire Playboy Single Mom Secret Son Former Model turned Chef
I love second chance romances and this one was a sweet one.
Zander is the youngest in the Olsen family and is a textbook playboy that runs away from any real emotional connections. Which was what he did with Harlowe after falling in love with her on a 2 week vacation 5 years ago. He never forgot about her and knew he had feelings, but continued to run from them, until he no longer couldn't.
Honestly he was too much of a playboy. Even before Harlowe, but it seemed to get worse after her. He was definitely trying to sleep his way through forgetting about her.
Harlowe is a former Model turned social media chef with a brand new cookbook coming out! She's raised her son Hendricks alone for the past 5 years, after having her heart devastatingly broken and completely ghosted by Zander. Now Xander is back in her life and she doesn't know what to do.
Hitting Harlowe's car the same day as reading a gossip article about her seems like fate to Zander, but that still isn't enough for him to make a move. Once his brothers hear about Zander potentially being a father they push him to man up. The banter with these brothers was hilarious and something I love seeing in books!
Even with Zander not stepping up, Harlowe is still rightfully hesitant to let him back into not only her life, but Hendricks'. It was cute seeing Zander turn from his playboy ways to being a more committed person. The conversations between Harlowe and her mom were so sweet. She was supportive, but also told Harlowe when she was being an idiot.
The Southern Thirst Trap, the 3rd book in The Southern Gods series and it does not disappoint. This is Zander and Harlowe's journey, a second chance romance with a son Zander never knew existed. It's a journey of not only love but redemption and hope for a future.
Zander is all about the company he owns with his brothers, women are a one night only, never a second time, gone by the morning type of man. Five years ago, Harlowe a well known model, catches Zander's eye so he takes her away for a two week holiday. The chemistry between them is off the charts and Harlowe knows the score, however she's convinced by the end of the holiday that they have a future, but he breaks her heart.
Five years down the road and Harlowe finds herself being featured in a high society social media blog. Between the blog and a coincidental minor road accident, Zander has Harlowe and now also her Son back in his sights. Zander has never forgotten Harlowe and the connection they had five years ago is still burning between them.
So begins a true rollercoaster of emotions for both Zander and Harlowe. Zander knows instinctively that Harlowes son is his. He also knows that what they had 5 years ago is still there and that he should never have let Harlowe go. Harlowe doesn't trust Zander and his intentions now at all, she has a son to protect and father or not, she is not going allow Zander to mess around with him, coming into his life only to leave again.
This journey will have you screaming at the Zander and his brothers in moment and melt your heart in the next. I am excited for the next book in the series.
"Southern Thirst Trap" by Adrian R. Hale is a captivating romance that dives deep into themes of second chances, personal growth, and the complexities of past relationships. The story follows Harlowe and Zander, whose whirlwind tropical romance leads to a life-changing situation.
Harlowe Sorenson, a former model, had a brief but unforgettable fling with Zander Olsen, a man known for his no-strings-attached lifestyle. Their connection was intense, but Zander's fear of commitment led him to cut ties abruptly, leaving Harlowe heartbroken. Fast forward five years, and their paths cross again, bringing all the unresolved feelings back to the surface.
What makes this story stand out is the emotional depth and character development. Zander, initially a career-focused playboy, finds himself reevaluating his priorities when he discovers that Harlowe's son bears a striking resemblance to him. This revelation forces him to confront his past decisions and the impact they have on both his and Harlowe's lives.
Harlowe, now a strong and independent single mother, must navigate her complicated feelings for Zander while protecting her son and herself from potential heartbreak. The chemistry between Harlowe and Zander is palpable, and their journey towards understanding and forgiveness is both heartwarming and intense.
This book beautifully combines elements of romance, personal growth, and the challenges of balancing career aspirations with personal relationships. It's a must-read for anyone who loves a story about love's ability to heal and transform.
Book 3 follows our YOUNGEST Olsen brother, Zander. Our biggest fuckboy of all three of the brothers. Our adrenaline junkie, one nd done, no repeats no feelings jerk face. I gotta say…..1/2 of this book, I truly wanted to kick him in the dick. BUT - what a ETYMOLOGY he was!
Harlowe isn’t our FMC who is a previous swimsuit model turned hot YouTube Chef, and Author to a Cookbook. She’s also mom to her super smart and exquisite be 4 year old son Hendricks.
So how did these two meet? Well, we rewind to five years ago when Harlowe was at the prime of her modeling career, and Zander was in full Playboy mode. But even with his one and done, Harlowe adventurous, and dynamic personality with dropdead gorgeous looks makes him break all of them. But after their two week trip to the Maldives, despite their agreement to part ways once it was over, one night of earth, shattering intimacy, and promises made, altered their futures forever.
Now, from that point on you are present time living vicariously through the internal damnation Zander has cursed himself with. And Harlowe, who has been through hell and back, and came out on the other side, stronger and more determined than ever to be the successful woman, she always wanted to be. She don’t need no man OK? But holy moly, has she been through it.
Get ready, because Zander is about to rip his heart out and feed it to you. You will thoroughly enjoy his predatory love., your fun pop-ups of previous characters, and the subtle hands that start our journey into our last book!!!
