Villainous Things #2

Gentlemen Prefer Villains

Rate this book
Simon

I needed to get the hell out of Big City. The only reason I'm living in this American wasteland is because my mother insisted I reconcile with my estranged father. That the idea came to her while drunk on French bubbly should have been my sign to stay right where I belonged. Anywhere but here. Certainly somewhere more fabulous.

When an international job opportunity arises, I jump on board. It's just a bonus that I'll be traveling with the epitome of tall, dark, and handsome. Make that muscular, morally gray, and hopefully, my next conquest.

What's a casual fling between coworkers, after all? I'm ready for my next big adventure—far from Big City—so if whatever we're up to is vaguely illegal, I'll simply turn the other cheek.

It's not like some superhero is going to swoop in and stop a couple of humans like us.

Wolfgang

I may have orchestrated my villainous parents' deaths, but that doesn't mean the crushing weight of my responsibilities is easy to bear. My sister was the only one of my siblings who knew how badly they treated me. The only one I told how much I despise my powers. Now she's on the run—leaving me to carry this alone.

Then I meet him. I may have hired Simon Alarie as my assistant, but it's instantly apparent he's much more than that. He's not only intelligent and business savvy but fiercely loyal and the tastiest—most forbidden—little thing I've ever seen. Nothing can come of it. Because if I touch him, he dies.

That doesn't stop me from claiming him as mine. Whether or not this normie knows it, every inch of him—every breath he takes—belongs to me. Anyone who thinks otherwise will meet the Hand of Death.

Gentlemen Prefer Villains is an MM romance between a villain and a normie. Our men find other men in tight supersuits incredibly attractive. Sometimes, they keep these supersuits on while engaging in explicit extracurricular activities with each other (and sometimes, they even use bad words!). This is not your kid's superhero book. This is Sin City and The Boys having a love child with extra spicy Spideypool and is meant for 18+ adults who can handle such things.

The Villainous Things series contains standalone books, each with HEAs, that feature interconnected characters and an overarching plot. You should listen in order, starting with Not All Himbos Wear Capes.

I’M ALL OVER THIS BOOK LIKE A RAT UP A DRAIN PIPE 🐀

I’m too drunk for coherent brain thoughts, but at the end of the day, this second book went SO MUCH HARDER than book 1 and gave me IMMENSE joy.

Simon is the sassiest queen, and I loved him and his fucking murder cabbage 😂

Wolfgang and Simon’s dynamic and lust for murder, and lust BECAUSE of and directly after murder… OOOOFT, hot. 🔥

I’m horny for the touch starved villain being touched for the first time mini trope. It’s horny af

The Suarez clan have my heart now 💖 I wasn’t sure on book 1, as it felt in that “it’s so bad it’s good” category, but this one slapped as hard as your nans baking.

SIMON IS THE ONLY REASON YOU NEED TO READ THIS.
The Mafia Queen 💅🏼
I pray book 3 doesn’t let me down 🙏🏼 big dumb oaf brother better come through with the gooooooods 🔥

I've put off writing this review because I'm always disappointed when I love the first book in a series, but the second book doesn't live up to my expectations.

One of the things I liked most about book 1 was that despite some heavier themes, it was lighthearted and fun. I liked the anticipation of the MCs revealing their identities to each other and the Big City corruption plot line.

Wolfgang is a fascinating character, but Simon was a bit too much for my taste: too sassy, too bossy (verging on being disrespectful), too pushy.

The plot involves Wolfy and Simon attempting to track down Wolfy's sister, Vi, while running into supes along the way.

I don't think we really needed an introduction to every supe on the plant. I got bored after a while.

Just because there are dozens of supes in this book, and there's a stronger focus on Wolfgang and Xander's siblings, doesn't mean the book is better. Sometimes less is more.

Xander and Butch had great chemistry, and you could see how well they got on. Wolfgang and Simon are just intense, and I didn't really feel their connection, to the point I started skipping the sex scenes.

This isn't a bad book by any means. I do like Balty and the twins, and enjoyed figuring out the mystery of Simon's DNA, but I skimmed a bunch, and that's never a good sign.

I have hope book 3 will prove more enjoyable.

reread:
well, this is embarrassing.
it happened again.
i read these books for the first time, give them 3 stars, keep obsessing about them, reread, 5 stars.
what is my problem? who knows.
i loved wolfy and simon so much!
i had zero of my previous complaints this time. past martina is a dumb bitch that understands nothing. zero taste.
i think that i’ll give balty’s book 5 stars even if i don’t like it the first time to save us time.

initial review:
i don’t think i’ll ever finish one of the books in this series with clear ideas.
i’m confused (again). not for the same reasons, so we made progress, i guess.
i think the main problem was that it’s a bit too insta and there are less action and spicy times, which resulted in the first part feeling a bit too long.

the main characters aren’t what i expected at all. is that a good thing or a bad thing? i don’t know.
i liked them but they didn’t match the idea that i had so yeah. confusing.

i liked this book. i did. but there are some things that are bugging me.

the resolution was definitely too quick and easy and there are some things left unanswered. (i’m hoping it’s just to set up the next book and not a plot hole)
i need a real release date for the next one. give me all the himbos. all of them.

now, will i obsess over this one as well for a month, reread it and decide that it’s perfect?
anything’s possible.
i will keep you updated.

*** I reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.***

I just love this series so much!!! I love the characters, lore, tone, and amazing chemistry between Simon and Wolfy. I was so curious about their story because Wolfy is such a mysterious character and I was curious about learning more about him.

I love the unexpected nuances of Wolfy's character and having his perspective as he falls for Simon. Especially considering his particular "gift," a relationship would definitely be challenging. And speaking of Simon, he is one commanding character. He is the perfect counter to Wolfy's austere exterior. Simon is forceful, opinionated, and passionate about those he cares about, and once he sets his sights on Wolfy he never let's go.

Their relationship is a great grumpy/sunshine slow-burn that I could not get enough of. Their sizzling chemistry, possessiveness, and devotedness to one another make them one fantastic couple.

This is a great follow up and I enjoyed getting to see familiar characters again. This is such a wonderful story and I cannot wait to see these characters again in the next one. The Dumb One will be a hoot to see fall for his person!!!

“If I’m the boss Wolfy, what does that make you”
“I’m your dog.”

∞⭐ -- Listen… I’m just as surprised as anyone that I’ve now given both Not All Himbos… and Gentlemen Prefer Villains infinity stars, but here we are.

This series has me in a chokehold. I didn’t think Rochelle could top Himbos, but somehow this one is even better. It’s no small thing to expand a world and its lore while still making every layer feel fresh, but she pulls it off beautifully.

I’ve always loved stories about broken, angry characters who think they don’t deserve love, only to find it anyway and every Suarez hits that note. Wolfgang especially stood out to me this time as the steady hand (pun intended) keeping it all together. While Simon is hands down one of my favorite fictional characters of all time. Mouthy, wild, and exactly the chaotic match Wolfgang needed.

The world-building is incredible, the pacing sharp, and you can feel Rochelle’s love for comics in how this reads like the best kind of superhero story. Yes, it’s kinky and smutty and unhinged, but it’s also thrilling, twisty, and genuinely epic.

I cannot wait for Putting Out for a Hero. Can we make it three for three?

I just love Wolfy 😍

Again, really enjoyed this and didn't want to put the book down.

Simon and Wolfy were clearly made for each other, and I loved the group chats between the family.

The only thing that bugged me was that there was all this build up to find Ultra Violent but then it was resolved really quickly at the end. I wanted more drama or more of a showdown between Vi and Wolfy, whereas the focus was more on the mum. How was she controlling her daughter and the situation? Why was she dragging her husband's corpse around?

I am excited for the next book though!

4.25 stars.

Simon is a "normie", he doesn't have powers. His mother has been married a heck of a lot of times, and he's been all over Europe living in different places. He's very cultured and he has very high standards, he likes the bougie things. He likes to be spoiled. He is small but a huge personality, and a bit of a bloodthirsty psychopath. A bossy personality. He gets a job interview through his father for the position of assistant to Wolfy, who is trying to locate his missing sister, who maybe inspiring against their family and Wolfy's very worried he might have to kill her to remove the threat.

The moment they see each other not the interview they are attracted to each other. But while Simon flirts aggressively, Wolfy won't do anything about it because everything he touches dies, that's his superpower. They have an irreverent flirty dynamic, where Wolfy spoils Simon and let Simon boss him around even though he's his boss. Wolfy doesn't tell Simon about his powers for the longest time, because he likes how Simon treats him without knowing, so the miscommunication trope is that play. And you're just waiting for that moment where Simon accidentally touches Wolfy. And it finally comes, but Simon mysteriously survives, shocking everyone. It turns out Simon really is Wolfy's inventus and there's some complicated supe evolutionary explanation for why Simon is immune.

I really enjoyed this story. It's my favorite out of the three books I've read from this series. I really liked the dynamic between Simon and Wolfy, Simon holding so much power over him was fun to see, and while they both were very much attracted to each other they were very affectionate and tender and protective of each other. My complaint about the first book in the series was that neither of the characters really new or liked anything about who the other person was outside of their sexual relationship, everything was sex with Butch and Xander! But Simon and Wolfy definitely had deep feelings.

I loved how Simon from so early on saw everything that Wolfy did as fantastic, everything endeared him to Simon. To Simon, Wolfy was husband material, and would be such a caring father. It was so nice to see someone like Wolfy who had been feared, abused and shown no affection his whole life just soaking in the praise and being appreciated and seen for the first time.

The world building is interesting, be overarching story arc is satisfying. But there were some missed opportunities / plot things left dangling. For example, there were two instances where Simon temporarily died after Wolfy touched him - the author didn't explain why that momentary death happened those two times but not every other time that they touched. The mythos behind this didn't make sense. There was also a missed opportunity in that because of their power sharing, Wolfie should have been able in my mind to channel Simon and that would mean that Wolfie would be able to focus and prevent his hand of death power from killing people, this would have been the perfect opportunity to give Wolfy the ability to touch people without killing them.

Some notable moments:

"Instead, he gently lifted Twoey from where I’d set her down on the floor, before placing her on the seat beside him and buckling her in. “Bloody hell, Wolfy!” I shouted, flinging my hands into the air in loving exasperation. “How am I supposed to stay pissed off when you do shit like that?” He’s going to be so good with our future children."

"“What an excellent provider you are for our carnivorous child,” I praised"

"I would obey his commands without question and eliminate anyone he wanted me to. His enemies were my enemies, and I would place myself in harm's way if it meant keeping him safe. Simon Alarie could cover me with bites and bruises, put me on a leash, and lock me in a cage. He could do absolutely anything he wanted to me and I would thank him for it."

*FYI about steam: I rate steam based on a combination of quality & quantity. I note kink separate from steam because I don't want to underrate steamy reads that don't have much kink.

**Note about spoilers: I like to comment on the plot of a book in reviews, so I almost always mark my reviews as containing spoilers. But I try to avoid spoiling the big dramatic moments! As a reader, I personally like to know what I'm getting into before I read a book so I know more about the content and if it's to my taste/mood, so I try to give that information in my reviews for myself when I'm considering rereading and also for other readers.

3.5 ⭐️ The globe trotting was fun. Each location had a distinctly different feel.

Simon, whose hair color I couldn’t figure out because it changed three times in the book (inconsistent writing), started out pretty annoying for the first 33% but his relentless antics grew on me as his softer side for Wolfy started coming out.

I loved Wolfgang from book one and even though he had a slight personality transplant since then, there IS reasonable understanding behind it and I still adore him.

All you owning, marking, touch him and die, and growling lovers will get your fix here.

This book made me forgive all the sins I usually wouldn’t in most books but because it was compulsively readable, I have a soft spot for Wolfy, and had a good time my ⭐️ rating stands for now.

The Twins are now the most intriguing of characters and hopefully their book will be released.

All CW, tropes, kinks, etc are in the beginning of the book so read them first. There are a lot!

Wolfy is the new head of his villain family after the demise of his parents. With his sister missing and presumably against his newfound position, he hires an assistant to help him take care of business. What he did not expect was for his new assistant, Simon, to be a witty man he can't seem to get his mind off of. Simon wants nothing more than to explore the flirty dynamic the two of them have, however, with the hunt for Wolfy's sister and outside interference, the two struggle to find their ground.
I liked this a lot less than I thought I was going to. Wolfys' introduction in book one was so good, and I like that we got to see a new side of him in this book, however, I could not click with him or Simon. The synopsis and the glimpse we got of him in the previous book made Wolfy out to be deep, dark, and mysterious with a traumatic background, but that was not delivered in the story. I expected so much more.

“Is this what you want, Wolfy?” he gasped, his voice catching with each violent thrust. “You want me to collar you like a dog? Claim you as mine? Make you beg in the bedroom before I set you loose on our enemies?

This was so funny and so good! Loved Wolfy and Simon! Simon was thee best little bossy brat ever and I loved how the tough “Hand of death” submitted to little Simon all day long. They were so down bad for each other and the shear site of blood got them turned on! I laughed so much and smiled alot. These books are perfect for breaking up the angst.

- [ ] I’m your dog,” I rasped, allowing the freedom of that statement to wash over me like fresh rain. “I’m yours.”
- [ ] Fuck, yes, Wolfy!” he moaned, riding my tongue, exactly like the whore he was. “I mean, nooooo… No, please stop licking me there, you big, scary, terrible man.”
- [ ] Gentlemen in the streets, freaks in the sheets, hmm?” I ventured. He smiled—wider this time—before standing and offering me his hand. “Gentlemen prefer villains, don’t they, Simon?” Absolutely.
- [ ] You’re a bossy one, aren’t you?” I muttered, so incredibly out of my element, yet beyond enamored with this tiny tyrant.

This goes to show you I’m a mood reader and can change my mind. I loved this one this time. It hit the spot. I really liked Simon and how he takes care of Wolfy. Bumping up my rating. Only reason I’m not giving it 5 stars is because they boink all the time and I skipped the sex scenes after a bit.

This is why I need to write reviews right after I read a book. I remember hardly anything about this. I do know I didn't enjoy it as much as book 1 and it dragged a bit for me. Maybe if/when I reread it I can write a better review 🤷‍♀️

"Red flags are my love language."

Once I finished Not All Himbos Wear Capes I immediately knew I had to jump into book 2. Wolfgang intrigued me, and although he turned out to be different from what I assumed based on his appearances in book 1, I enjoyed the heck out of this book as well. I originally thought he was going to be more, well, awkwardly weird. I mean, he's definitely not your everyday dude, but he was much more self assured in things like dealing with other supes than I expected. As The Hand of Death he's pretty badass all on his own, but when he's got his dominant I mean business attitude going, he puts off pure don't fuck with me vibes.

Fortunately for Wolfgang, our other MC Simon totally digs the whole don't fuck with me esthetic. I'm pretty sure the fact that Simon is basically a certified psychopath makes him even more of a perfect match for Wolfgang. Together these two make quite the pair. And when they finally touch? Lets just say you may not want to read this book in public.

I loved how confident Simon was. He literally gave zero fucks about the fact that half the people he was giving shit could squash him like a bug. He was fiercely protective of Wolfgang and he reveled in his possessiveness of him. Hell, he even loved all the blood and gore that tends to follow his man.

“Did you just gouge out his eyes? For me?”

Yes. That was most certainly Simon swooning over someone being maimed in his honor. Romantic AF right? On the opposite side of the spectrum, I also loved was how much Wolfgang truly cared for his family. He was their secret protector. Never really asking for anything in return, not even thanks. I was so happy when Simon pointed out this fact to the family. It was about time they knew what he'd endured for them. Speaking of the Suarez's, their family chat was a definite highlight. I laughed my ass off at everyone's nicknames and am super psyched that The Dumb One is getting his book next!

AUDIO: Just finished listening to the audio and both narrators did a fantastic job with this one!!! I, for one, am happy about the new duo. Wolfie's deep voice is just mmmmmm. And Simon's totally worked with his bratty nature. I can't wait to hear these two bring the dumb one and Lizard Dick to life next!

I liked this but book 1 is better and still my favorite.
Loved Wolfy so so much but I struggled with Simon, he was too much at times and it was hard to love him.
I enjoyed learning more about the supe’s world and all the new characters were interesting and unique, need more of the Suarez siblings and of course I want all the details of Xanny and Butch’s wedding.

⭐︎ 3.75 Stars Rounded Up ⭐︎

Overall, this was enjoyable.

I really liked Wolfgang and Simon together. Wolfy needed someone like Simon to be the perfect partner for him.

Simon is a pint sized tiny tyrant, as Wolfy likes to call him.

He's bossy, self-assured, and knows his worth. And he has quite the dark side, as he likes things rough and he likes a little murder sometimes as well, as we come to learn.

And as Wolfy has to sometimes murder, that works out well for him.

These two had good chemistry and I enjoyed their dynamic. I enjoyed Simon's small but mighty personality. He might be all of 5ft tall, but that doesn't mean you can mess with him.

And while at first Wolfy doesn't try to touch Simon because of his power, they soon learn Simon seems to be the only one who can, and so Wolfy can have that with someone as well, when he's never been able to have it, ever.

The main plot is Wolfy trying to find his sister, who vanished soon after the death of their parents, and Wolfy is seemingly chasing her around the globe - and he needs help while he does it, which is where Simon comes in as his assistant.

Wolfy doesn't tell Simon who exactly he is at first, and that greatly annoyed me. A lot. Something that I hated in the first was just how fucking long it took for Butch and Xander to find out about the other and how long the lying and secrets went on - almost the whole damn book - so when this seemed to be heading in that direct too, I was annoyed again.

And it did carry it out longer than I wish it did. While it did reveal all a LOT sooner than the first, thankfully, it did still carry it out too long for my liking - around 40ish percent - so I still give points off for that.

Especially when Wolfy kept putting off telling Simon the truth and putting off and putting it off and it just got to the point where it was getting contrived, because then they were getting interrupted here and there and everywhere when Wolfy finally decided he would finally tell Simon.

And then when he finally has the time with no interruptions, Simon is all "I can't deal with this right now, I need some time before I deal with all this" and that was SO stupid, because Simon was getting as annoyed as I was, if not more, so why would he delay finding out the truth that he so badly wanted to know?

And it was all so it could be found out in the most dramatic way possible, specifically for the drama of it all, and it showed.

Instead of near the beginning, before Simon catches onto Wolfy seemingly not liking to be touched at all, have him touch Wolfy or at least accidentally touch him, and then the same dramatic thing would happen, but it would feel organic and not silly, contrived, and played out for the drama of it all.

So that got points off for me. Also, for how rough and dirty these two seemed to like in the bedroom - they are both into consensual non-consent, some rough manhandling, chocking, etc - we didn't get a whole lot of them really going to the really rough side of sex that they apparently liked.

What we got was good and hot and enjoyable. But like...why introduce these kinks these two have but kind play it safe with them? The worst we get is some like...choking and the consensual non-con (which didn't entirely work as Simon was so bad at pretending not to want it, so it just came off as a little silly, honestly) and that's...about it.

It just felt like very tame sex scenes when these two apparently loves some really not tame sex times, and so that was disappointing, and contributed to the points off my rating.

I also was bummed we never got Simon saying "I love you" back to Wolfy. We know he does, that is quite clear, and he thinks and wants to say it, but something is holding him back and the text even says that.

But we get no follow up on that. It doesn't say in the epilogue if he ever did manage to say it back, so that's very unclear. It's just...why bring up that problem and then just not ever address it or get Simon to the point where he can say it back when he so badly wants to?

Also, I gotta say...I think this was too long at 428 pages. It didn't need to be this long, and so it dragged at times because of that, as there was unnecessary filler at times (or like dragging out Wolfy being a supe and could kill Simon and not *informing Simon that he could kill him* and all that to about 40%. Take away that contrived drama and this could have been cut considerably, and it wouldn't have been as long and that would have worked well for this.)

So, enough things bothered me that I couldn't quite give this 4 stars. I settled on 3.75 as I enjoyed quite a bit, but too much annoyed me to give it a full 4 stars.

Definitely, overall, a good romance for Wolfgang, and the characters were enjoyable. I loved Simon's pint-sized sassitude, for sure. And Wolfgang was much sweeter underneath the bravado than he let on and I liked that.

So overall, worth a read if you've liked this series so far, and the main couple is enjoyable and has good chemistry. But a few improvements definitely could have been made to make this a 5 star read.

Excited for Balty's story!

I expected more for Wolfy.

I'm not even going to go into details, because I'm drained from reading this, so let me just give you 3 focal points as to why this only got 2⭐ from me.

🔵 Wolfy seemed like a complex character with a heavy past, and yet this story absolutely didn't do him justice, I still love Wolfy and he did turn out to be great, his book is just not what I expected.

🟢 The book is too long. There absolutely should be 100 pages less, at minimum.

🔴 Here we go again.

“Is it about a girrrrrl?” he sang, dramatically fluttering his long eyelashes.
“No.” I grimaced, unable to hide my visceral reaction.
Gross.
🤨

"She looks like the type to wear a garter full of knives. She may even have a few stuffed up her vagina."
Women do love their pockets.
🙄

Simon made a disgruntled sound. “Yes, we shan’t risk you running out of alcohol. Heaven knows, you haven’t been sober since you were pregnant with me.”

🟪 Not to forget Simon, yes. I couldn't decide if I liked Simon or not, because there were so many stereotypes attached to his character, that he seemed extremely superficial .

In general I liked the romantic pairing but the story was too OTT for me to really enjoy it.

At first I thought we're finally getting something deeper with Wolfy, but at 10% in I've already seen this wouldn't be the case.

I'm probably going to read Balty's story, although I have a feeling I definitely won't like it, but I do hope the author does something a little more amazing with the twins' story.

Overall, Captain Masculine still remains the most likeable character in the series.

This series have so much potential but all the instant lust kinda bugs me.

The relationship doesn't seem organic, it's like "I saw you and bang you're mine".

I'm not a insta lust/love kind of girl so even though I could overlook that I just can't help being disappointed with all the insta sh*t!

BR with my girl Cass

I have been looking forward to this since the minute I put down NAHWC! Where we were introduced to Wolfy and I was already obsessed. Ladies & gentlemen, he did not disappoint.

And he had to be amazing to compare to Simon, the self titled mafia queen. Omg what a fabulous character! Our little dictator was sassy and hilarious.

The banter, the dirty flirting made all the angst worthwhile. But once we touched it was motherfucking liftoff! Corrine really knows how to write some good smut.

Lastly, the drama! I was literally on the edge of my seat every step of the way with this globetrotting duo. And it certainly ended with a bang!

If you want a hilarious, angsty, drama filled love fest, this is the book for you!!

I liked this one less than book 1, but it was still fun, entertaining, and hot 🔥 read
Loved Simon aka The Mafia Queen, family group chat, Xander and Butch cameos.
The idea at the core of the series is that a supe (hero or villain) can find his Inventus - another supe. Inventus pairs can share their powers and abilities. The bond also creates a deep emotional connection with fiercely protective instincts - "murderous soul mates." So, it is sort of a "fated mates" scenario - be ready for instant connection and attraction.

Time of death: 86%. I just can't. I can't drag myself through this nonsense any more. I disliked the first book in the series, I found the writing juvenile and the characters exaggerated, but I wanted to like this series so much that I thought I'd give it another chance. Also, Wolfgang, one of our MCs here, was a really intriguing side character in book 1, so that was enough to hook me. But this was somehow worse than the first book? It's so unserious, the way almost every character behaved was so outrageous and irritating. Simon, our other MC, is quite possibly the most annoying character of all time. He is mouthy, self-important and entitled, but not in an endearing way. The dialogue was stupid and over-the-top, it wasn't nearly as smutty as the content and trigger warnings would have you believe. Honestly, it just had nothing going for it. I really, really tried to finish it. But reading for fun shouldn't be a chore, or strain my eye muscles so much from all the rolling, so this is where Rochelle and I part ways.

DNF at 25%. I loved the previous book, and I thought this one was gonna be great too, but it isn't. I already don't like it and I don't want to not like it even more. So bye.

This series continues to deliver. I really didn't know if this would be my cup of tea but it is, it really is.

Dolorosamente malo.

Mafia Queen

This sassy duo is murder perfection.

Getting to see the mafia queen absolutely OWN the Suarez clan leader was everything I wanted. Who doesn’t love a murdering little man with an affinity for movie trivia absolutely bringing the most fearsome clan member to his knees!

Seeing the role reversal, getting to know more member of the clan, and just having a filthy good time with them was everything!

Can’t wait for the next story!

This series is amazing! I was initially on the fence about it but I’m so glad to have given it a chance! These storylines are unique, super fun, and refreshing.

This is book 2 of the series and I absolutely loved this story! I thought Xander and Butch from book 1 were amazing, but I love Wolfgang and Simon even more!

The first half of this story had me in a chokehold. The pining and the sexual tension had me ready to combust. Wolfy, aka Hands of Death, was the fearless leader of the Suarez clan. His power is a gift and a curse. Imagine going through life touch starved because physical contact with someone will literally make them explode. Poor Wolfy! In comes his new assistant Simon, aka The Tiny Tyrant. Simon was a spit fire! He was small but vicious like a chihuahua 🤣 He was exactly what Wolfy needed. Wolfy had a really traumatic upbringing and even as leader of his clan he had maintain tough and impassive exterior. He’s been having to do everything alone. Their attraction to each other was instant. It was so fun to see Simon doing everything to get Wolfy unknowingly that it could possibly end his life 🤣

This story was hilarious! Simon was such a spoiled diva and I loved his shenanigans. Simon and Wolfy were a really great balance. I loved how Simon and Wolfy established genuine trust and Wolfy was able to show a vulnerability that no one has seen from him. On another note, these two were both some freaks and the steam was extra spicy! Lots of kinks in the mix! 🥵

I loved their adventures across the globe. It was a pretty wild ride. I enjoyed the cameos of Butch and Xander. This story was extremely well written and exciting to read. I look forward to the rest of the books in the series.

Right from the very start, I knew I was going to love this book. I want to say I wasn’t expecting to love the characters as much as I did, but C Rochelle really told me what kind of author she was in Not All Himbos Wear Capes and I had no hope but to fall in love with these boys immediately.

Wolfgang (Wolfy) is the perfect amount of tortured soul and sexy good boy, that I couldn’t help but want to cuddle him. He is a kinky murderous villain that just wants to be touched, but until he meets Simon, he didn’t know anyone could. His powers would kill anyone else, so finding someone to make it past his mental and physical barriers was 1 in an infinite number.

Simon is a little morally grey tart who uses French for exclaiming and is the perfect match for Wolfy. He signs on to be a personal assistant to a man who seems to be a bodyguard, but ends up being a masked villain from a renowned family. Instead of becoming a henchman, he ends up being his perfect match.

I never thought I’d be into books where the MC’s get off on murder, but I’ve learned a lot about myself this year. Or rather I’m still learning. These boys get turned on by it. They like when the other is covered in someone’s blood and where I should be grossed out, I can’t help but think it’s hot, because these guys are hot. If it was anyone else…. 🤷🏻‍♂️

I love this series. How can I wait for the next book to come in audio???? Philip Alces and Nick J Russo did such an amazing job bringing the characters to life. I just can’t read them to myself now. It would never be the same. But in the same breath, I want to know what happens next. 😭

Well I did head back to superhero-land for a BR with my girl Debbie and I'm so glad I did. Wolfie's book was a hoot!

The oldest brother of the villainous Suarez clan, Wolfie has a touch that causes death (that's not a spoiler btw). He employs the hilarious and very sexy Simon as his PA and they embark on a search for his sister. Simon lusts after Wolfie right from the get go and it is oh so reciprocated except for that whole 'I can't touch you or you will die' thing; which Simon doesn't know about because he doesn't actually know who or what Wolfie actually is. I have read a few books where the MC has a death-causing touch and its always fascinating to see where the author will take it. Will they ever get to touch or won't they? Will the author find a work around for them instead?

The banter between these two and Simon's completely shameless flirting, which then grows into such sweet caring was such a delight to read. Simon is like a tiny Napoleon their dynamic really was adorable. And funny. And hot AF 🔥🥵 Their endearments were so funny too

my poor broken murder baby

🤣🤣🤣

when they meet:
If my future boss thought he could send in his terrifying bodyguard and accomplish anything other than giving me a raging hard-on, he needed to reassess his methods. Since red flags are my love language.

and this really says it all about Simon. I adored how Wolfie was there every single moment of Simon!
Many an ex-boyfriend had whined about how ‘high maintenance’ I was. If they’d thought their complaints would result in me lowering my standards, they realized their mistake when I promptly threw them back into the swamp whence they came. High maintenance? More like above your pay grade, darling.

This was just so much fun, I m ay need to rethink my whole 'not really into superhero' thing. At least when it comes to C. Rochelle.
