Wake is young adult fiction but everyone should read it. The writing is exceptional. I could picture the characters and the scenes. Many times I felt like I was watching a movie while reading the book. The scenes were so graphically told I felt like I was there watching the action unfold. The characters were described and although they were paranormal, they seemed so real. I felt for the characters. The love Callie and Joshua share, the fear when they were in the presence of Darks, and the awe as the rest of their world realized who they were.
This is a book that I started and read it quickly, only 36 hours and I was done. It was a book that I could not put down. I did not read the first book and found that I knew what was going on, but I think now I will go back and read it so I can find out how Callie became an angel. I will recommend this book to all my young adult readers and my adult readers. Book three will be out eventually… hopefully Dana Faletti will not make us wait too long.

I found this to be a really nice twist on the normal good versus evil stories. Ms. Faletti takes us into the world of the ARC’s or rather the arc angels. Making us think that there really is a chance that we each have an angel that is our guardian.
From the beginning there is an undercurrent of chemistry between Callie and Joshua. I am not sure how or why these two are ARC’s but they are. Not wanting to or not allowed to act on feelings they just do their jobs of fighting the Darks. The demons from Hell or as they say in the book ‘Hello’ are surfacing and causing havoc on the young adults in the story. They put thoughts into their heads. The same concept as those bullies in school that call you names or pick on you all the time. Callie and Josh each have a unique way of conquering these Darks. Although I found that Callie seemed more aggressive in killing them in the story.
While all this is going on we have secondary characters that are likable enough but needed to be fleshed out a little more. We know that Mila is Carrie’s best friend forever…all of a sudden she is able to see the ARC’s and also battle the Darks with no training? There are the micros or mini angels…they remind me of fairies. They seem to cause more trouble at times it seems. One has a foreign accent that seems a little out of place and forced. It doesn’t fit. But it was still cute in a roundabout way. Then there is Romuel who seems so much larger than life to Callie and Josh. He throws a nice twist into the forbidden romance that is starting to blossom with Callie and Josh.
I really liked the story despite the back and forth POV of the two main characters, which really wasn’t needed. It was a little predictable at times but kept it interesting with the twists such as all of the other teens being able to see the ARC’s while lending a hand in fighting the Darks and turns where her family is able to see her also as her mom remembers, that Ms. Faletti added.
Overall I found this story to be very entertaining and enjoyable. Not a bad book. I would recommend it to those that enjoy reading paranormal with a twist or any paranormal. It is perfect for the young teen in all of us.

I had a hard time getting into this series, because I kept tripping over the writing. Every author has their own style of writing, and I rarely comment on such things, but when their style disrupts what it is they are trying to convey, it is frustrating. It's not that Dana Faletti's writing style was choppy so much as full of hiccups. I don't mind metaphors when they are smoothly incorporated, but here I felt bashed over the head with them.
I found myself continually tripping over the dialogue. Having her characters replace the words 'hell' and 'shit' with 'hello' and 'shugar' was meant to be endearing but wasn't. Also one of the Micro Angels has an accent that is phonetically forced on the reader, which is a tricky thing to pull off; I kept stopping to match the accent on the page to the one in my head. Also, Ms. Faletti uses a plethora of causal Biblical references, sometimes without purpose, that I wish she'd really owned and expanded upon. It gave the plot a lack of depth...

OMG! I am so excited that I was chosen to win this book. It was an amazing story that I can't wait to finish. This is not your typical book about he'll against Heaven. It was so much more. Callie seems to be remembering who she is and her purpose on earth. And now it seems almost everyone is in the know. If you haven't read these books you are in for an awesome read that you want be able to put down. I can't wait for the third to come out.

I have not read the first book in this series and therefore was a little apprehensive, but I found that I was still able to follow along with the story line. I will probably read the first book now to find out more about Callie's transition to becoming an angel.
This book is a very easy and entertaining read that I would recommend to those who like to read young adult paranormal books.

Whisper and Wake are wonderful YA reads and even great reads for adults. In the midst of teenage angst and demon fighting Ms. Faletti gives us a message of hope and faith. A must read for teens and adults.

A young adult read. My favorite parts of this book were in Joshua's point of view. The lingo threw me a few times but overall it was a solid story with lots of interesting characters.

I loved the first book in the trilogy, and this second installment does not disappoint! In Whisper, I fell in love with all of the characters, and loved getting to see more of their story in this book. I also really liked this introduction of Romuel and can't wait to see what happens with his character in the next book.
Whisper was amazing, and Wake was an excellent continuation of the series. Excited to read the third!

Wow this book series is good! There's lot's of action with lot's of humor! It has a cool creative bible feel!
