I’m not your “normal” writer. I didn’t aspire from a young age to become a writer. My last day of high school, my English teacher said, “There is a book in each of you. Whether it’s a how-to, non-fiction, fiction—find that book.” I thought, right.
My hubby reads a lot, so I began to pick up the books he’d buy—mysteries and thrillers. But he traveled, so I only read while he was in town…too scared to sleep by myself. LOL. Years later, hubby and I planned a trip to an amusement park with the kids, and since I can’t ride roller coasters anymore, I went to B&N and picked up a book. A romance. I read all day and stayed up most of the night to finish the book. After that, I read every romance I could find.
I’d always kept my teacher’s words in the back of my mind, “There is a book in you,” and sat down one day to write a scene that kept playing in my mind. The floodgates on my imagination opened and before I knew what a critique partner was, I’d written four books (I use the word “written” very loosely, they needed a tremendous amount of work).
I never planned it, never dreamed about it, never expected to get such joy from it, but writing has become a vital part of my life.
Being the youngest of five children (my hubby the youngest of seven), much of my writing centers around family and relationships. I thank my parents for their example of how to live a life of love and happiness. And I thank my siblings, in-laws, nephews, nieces, and friends for their constant support and encouragement.
I live near Houston, Texas, with my real-life hero husband (the man is my inspiration each and every day) and our two children—who fill my heart to overflowing. I am blessed beyond belief and tickled to be able to write the stories of my heart.
Five boys, all about the same age, adopted by Pops and Mimi, are taken from the darkness of their early years and given a new life with stability, nurturing, life skills and love. Finding a connection with the children makes it even harder to keep his distance from Charli, but as he spends more time with them, they find they are the only ones denying the attraction between them.
JC's hard-earned stardom comes with a price when inexplicably his wife disappears without a trace. Brandy has left enough of a trail for him to know that she is safe, but her reasons for leaving elude him. When events bring Brandy and JC back into the same orbit with the rest of the Danby family, JC is shocked to learn the circumstances behind Brandy's decision. When the truth is revealed, JC and Brandy have choices and adjustments to make, but recognise that together they can conquer almost anything.

She has been through the mill and the gentle Brock is just the man she needs to help her reconnect with her feelings and emotions. Brock's heart drops when Juliana asks that before getting involved they first explore the friendship zone. With Pops' wise counsel ringing in his ears, Brock gives Juliana what she needs. His reward is seeing his brothers' faces when he brings her home.
Levi is shocked to see Candice in his veterinary clinic after she dumped him five years previously. Discovering that her big New York break is just a pipe dream, Candice returns home thoroughly humbled and grabs at the opportunity to deliver puppies to Levi's clinic for a photoshoot. Levi has no intention of giving her a second chance but after spending some time with her, he is surprised when she steps back and gives up the chase. Five brothers, five stories and five happy endings in one boxset, make this an enjoyable, romantic and warm-hearted read. I received a copy of this book as a gift and this is my honest voluntary review.
What can I say? Author Tess St. John is immensely talented. These are fun, short, contemporary romances that will keep you entertained from beginning to end. I highly recommend this author and this set is another hit for her. I wish her all the best with future releases!
