Their chemistry hit fast — no slow buildup, no pretending. It was raw, magnetic, and impossible to look away from. The heat between them didn’t feel added in; it was the rhythm of their story.
Every look, every word had tension baked into it. The steamy moments didn’t just show up — they landed hard, shaped by everything unspoken and unresolved between them. It felt messy, hungry, and real.
What made it work was how natural it all felt, like this intensity wasn’t optional — it was who they were together. No soft fade-ins or perfect timing — just two people colliding in a way that made sense, even when everything else didn’t.
Born to be Bad Book three in the Blood Money Billionaires series. Continuing Ivy and Alastair's story and adventure. It's hot, its adventurous, and more of your questions will be answered during this time. From the shooting to more on the family questions get answers and more questions are formed to lead you into the next book in the series. It's fill with suspense, but the passion between Ivy and Alastair is still strong and unwavering. Emily Dugan and Derek Duvall continue the narration making the story come to life and bringing their own unique abilities to the characters. They did a wonderful job as always and I can't wait for more
This book was a little on the slower side but it’s really set up book four well. There is still a decent amount of action and plenty of steam!! I have really enjoyed this series and cannot wait to find out what happens and how it concludes.
Derek Duvall and Emily Dugan have the best accents and do an equally amazing job at voicing multiple different characters. For a dual narration, I have been highly impressed and look forward to the next audio!
Heck, we dive into a gobsmack moment as soon as this book starts, leading straight on after the cliffhanger in the previous books, and my head is still spinning!!!! Each book adds another layer of intrigue, each book adds more to the complexity of the plot, so banish the idea that this is "another smexy, spicy Mafia read" Which it is, but there's nothing "just another" about it. This is about the complexity of family, the complexity of relationships, the complexity of self discovery.
Golly, I'm more and more under Alastair's spell with each page, he's so incredible. He's a real tough guy, he IS Mafia after all, but he's the most tender, respectful and caring person. To Ivy. To his family. I love how the author unravelled him, how WE got to witness the unravelling, how we got to see WHAT was important to him. His relationship with Ivy is steam on steroids, bubbling like lava, burning everything in it's path. While it does ignite Ivy (and me BTW!) it's the right kind of burn. He engulfs my with warmth, heck, when he tells Ivy, "You're my goddess. You're the love of my life" it's impossible not to do the "awwwww". Alastair is all rough edges encased in tenderness, a tough guy who turns to putty whenever he's around Ivy. Likewise, Ivy is thrown off course by Alastair, he's not what she thought, even though WHO he is, WHAT he is, goes against everything she morally holds to heart, she's more than enamoured, she's completely and utterly overwhelmed by the love she feels for him. I don't think I've ever read a book that encapsulates passion, with love, with need and desire quite as magnificently as this author does it sets all the "bells ringing" within me. The verbal interactions between Ivy and Alastair were hot and comical and easy and just delightful! And what's more enticing is Ms Butler gave us both "his and her" perspectives in a lot of the scenes, loved that!
This book, as is the series, was really riveting! Not only dealing with rival Mafia factions, dealing with all that happened in the previous book, well, that's enough of a gobsmack moment in itself! The truism Ms Butler portrays of this vicious and often deadly world, underscored by real family values (.... even the Mafia have values of a sort!) and the need to keep loved ones safe, is so well depicted, all the characters "filling" out more with each book. I got to enjoy the loyalty and affection from supporting characters, like Brumilde and Henderson, both of whom are super cool. The whole game has changed, old rivals, new rivals enter the fray and, to protect themselves, there loved ones from all these factions, they leave for safer pastures. But how safe, now that's the question! Honestly, I was like a limp noodle from the charging up and releasing of adrenaline.
This excellent author sets the perfect balance of sensuality, excellent banter, teasing, drama and action, everything a Mafia read should be. And then she infuses something unique into the story, PTSD, autism and Stockholm syndrome, handled delicately, realistically, sensitively. And whoa! That ending!!!! Twist? OMG! More than a twist! One of many...A wrangled, tight as heck one! Amazing read, yet again.
Ivy and Alistair’s romance keeps heating up, and the danger around them makes the story thrilling. The audiobook narration by Derek Duvall and Emily Dugan is fantastic; their voices bring each character to life. The book is steamy, full of action, and ends with a cliffhanger that left me impatient for Book 4. Some parts felt slower, and there’s a lot of focus on adult scenes, but the chemistry, banter, and suspense kept me hooked. If you love romance with high stakes, danger, and sizzling chemistry, this series is for you.
Born To Be Bad is book three in the Blood Money Billionaire series. This book begins where book two ended-with the shooting at the estate. Next, Alastair, Ivy and his family delve into the reasons for the shooting. There is a lot of action, drama, danger, intrigue and suspense in this book. This book ends in a cliffhanger. The narration by Emily Dugan and Derek Duvall was brilliant. They brought this fascinating story to life. I highly recommend listening.
Was happy to get to listen to the audio of this! This book is definitely steamy 🌶 I loved how Ivy and Alistair always taunt and tease each other! Also, I love how they constantly have to be touching one another 🥰 the ending, though, throws you for a loop and makes you 2nd guess everything you thought you knew!
The fmc is ivy who is independent and doest go after playboys. The mmc is Alistair, who is a playboy who his family thinks it is time to settle down. Alistair decided it should be with ivy. The only problem is he is going to be creative to get her to fall in love and marry him. With the help of two of their friends, it happens .
Audiobook Review of Born To Be Bad, written by Blair Butler and narrated by Emily Dugan and Derek Duvall and produced by High Gravity.
Book 3 of the Blood Money Billionaires series.
Thank you to High Gravity Productions for providing me with the advanced listener copy to review.
Well, what ride that was... and what an ending! Yes, you guessed it, another cliffhanger of an ending, from the queen of cliffhanger endings!
Book 3 kicks off right where book 2 ends and continues with the saga that is Alistair's family saga and their past coming back to haunt them. The relationship between Ivy and Alistair is progressing fast with a whole new element added in book 3. The family work together to figure out what on earth is going on, whilst trying to navigate their away around shocking new discoveries and new family members.
I felt that book 3 had more action than the previous two and a little less spice, although what spice there is was fabulous! This book, like book 2, had more plot to it. I really enjoyed this book and the narrators' performances were, once again, excellent! I'll definitely be picking up the story again when book 4 is out on audio!
loved it. all of it. I love the new found strength that Ivy has. and she still sees the good. but holy cliff hanger!!! I was not paying attention to where I was in the book since its Kindle. I was shocked!!!
