Just like the title, the book covers the basics of Narrative as a subject, using examples that are very up-to-date, illustrating in a simple and plain language. However, probably due to the profession of the author(?), the books pays less attention on literature than on movies and media. This is entertaining and friendly (just as the book advertised), yet not academically useful to me, because the examples are too simple for me to imitate if I want to use the theory. Therefore, the book can only be used as a starter to titillate your academic interest.
