Sometimes don't we love sadness? It’s funny, isn’t it? The way we, as humans, seem to gravitate towards sadness, like moths to a flame. We say we want happiness, but somehow, we keep replaying the sad songs, reading the tragic novels, and reminiscing about what we’ve lost. Maybe, deep down, we find comfort in the melancholy, in the rawness of those emotions. Sadness has a way of making us feel deeply, giving life a strange kind of meaning. It’s as if the sorrow highlights the joy, making the good moments feel even more precious. Perhaps we don’t just experience sadness—we savor it, because without it, would the highs feel quite as high?
