When Hannah agreed to cover a story for her best friend, she never knew what kind of trouble would be waiting for her. Sure, an invite to a posh mountain home and the chance to hob-knob with celebrities seemed exciting on the surface, but there's something murderous lurking underneath.
Join Razzy Cat, Hannah, and the gang as they race to find a murderer. If they're not careful, this case could be their last!
Definitely a more interesting story for Hannah & Co. this time around!
Months after the previous mystery, and Hannah's bff Ashley is pregnant, and therefore unable to attend the high-society charity event taking place at a mansion in the mountains. Thus, she asks Hannah to go instead, with Ben and the cats along a well. Lo and behold, a body is found and it's up to them to solve the case!
I'll admit, what I liked about this one was definitely the fact of Hannah and Ben having to navigate higher society, with a lot of asshole-y people, including Ben's new boss. It was a different change of pace to relying just on the cutesy-catsy narratives of this series, and therefore a welcome change.
Mystery element was also pretty good, including the ending.
Looking forward to the next book where we finally get to meet Hannah's family! South Dakota, here we come!
Hannah was being a good bestie and agreed to take on one of her pal Ashley’s assignments, a posh charity event in a neighboring suburb. Even though it wasn’t her thing, Hannah braved the assignment since Ashley was pregnant and trying to take things easier.
When the host of the event was murdered, Hannah, Ben and their tremendously talented trio of cats started poking around and eventually solved the case. That was a tense and scary showdown, but sweet Razzy had things under control and came to Hannah’s aid. It’ll be fun to see what happens next since Hannah mentioned wanting to go visit her family in South Dakota.
Pregnant Ashley asks Hannah to go to a charity event at the mansion of a movie star in her place. Other guests include the new mayor and his recently appointed police chief.
Hannah being Hannah, she discovers the body of Ed, head of security for the star. In spite of the fact that the movie star host and the new police chief want to keep things quiet, Hannah and Ben investigate, catch the culprit, and then have to watch the new police chief (a businessman with no police experience) take the credit. How long will Ben last with the police force? He has not made a friend of the new chief.
This one just didn't interest me at all. Maybe it's because when I read books about talking cats it's because I like to get away from the real world, and the mayor giving a political appointment to an unqualified crony is too close to the reality of what's happening at the top levels of government right now! I'm also not liking the drift towards having what's his name open a detective agency. That's putting even more emphasis on his character. I'd rather learn more about Hannah's psychic gifts.
A cozy mystery with a happy ending, featuring my current favorite trio of cat detectives. The villain in this story is quite the sociopath, terrorizing both his half sister and his ex girlfriend. As usual, the cats end up being major players in catching the bad guy, Hannah is a fish out of water covering for her friend, Ashley, at the social event of the year and Ben's job looks pretty shaky when he clashes with the new police chief.
Talking cats and the people that love them make great characters for this series. Started in the middle of the series because it is backstory for another series. Stumbling over bodies is always an interesting plotline. A detective and his reporter girlfriend with the help of their investigating cats make for a great read.
Another enjoyable read! Razzy and the boys are front and center leading the investigation. Of course, Ben and Hannah have a lot to do with finding the killer(s) as well. As fluffy as these stories are, I have trouble putting them down to move onto something else and once I start reading the story, I don’t want to stop! Curl up and read away!
Loved the storyline and characters, especially the cats. I sincerely hope this series continues. It's one of my favorites! I would really hate not being able to go along with Razzy, Gus, and Rudy on their adventures.
Hannah is covering a charity weekend for Ashley when the head of security is murdered. Narrowing down suspects is the easy part. Finding the suspect, not so much.
I love these characters. The mysteries are interesting and the characters are multidimensional. I especially like how they work as a team to solve them. These are always fun.
A cozy mystery series which, at its heart, are cats Razzy, Gus and Rudy, who are able to be understood by their owners Hannah (a newspaper reporter) and her Police Detective boyfriend Ben. It's funny, great one liners and good cozy mystery, what's not to like!
Hannah is doing her reporter friend a favour by covering a weekend house party being thrown by a TV star. Ben, Hannah and the cats arrive, but it's not long before Hannah finds a body.
Whilst all the books are standalone stories, the books are best read in order of publication to preserve continuity of the characters and series.
I love this series, and cannot wait to read the next in the series.
