Kids of The District #5

His Pretty Little Queen

Rate this book
Clay Butcher is twice my age, the ruthless, controlling Don of the Cosa Nostra, and the man hunting my father.

He is my protector.
He took me in when I was an orphan—broken.
Spoils me, punishes me, and holds me accountable.
He is my everything.

Clay calls me his little deer, his queen, his sweet girl, but what am I besides his?

Can I really ever be his ally when I’m his enemy’s daughter? And when the time comes for him to take his bloody revenge, whose ashy grave will I stand on?

Can I be his pretty little queen?

His Pretty Little Queen needs to be read after His Pretty Little Burden and is part of The Kids of The District series. It has a happily ever after. It features a powerful Mafia Don, and his endearing tortured little heroine. His Pretty Little Burden has an age-gap dynamic that some people may find uncomfortable. It is an epic love story with word steam, violence, gore, and drama. Enjoy.

“I don’t often get my hands dirty; as the Don, I don't need to. Which is why this is further significant. I choose to.”
This book was perfect! The mafia thing was amazing and the characters… explosive!
It’s worth the reading.

Review for the duet (#4 & #5)

This is not just a BDSM with role-playing. Definitely not easy books.

The dynamic between Sir and little deer…

𝓓𝓐𝓡𝓚. 𝓓𝓔𝓔𝓟. 𝓑𝓛𝓤𝓔. 𝓘𝓝𝓣𝓔𝓝𝓢𝓔. 𝓢𝓔𝓝𝓢𝓤𝓐𝓛.

Clay
• Sir
• 35
• The Boss

Fawn
• little deer or sweet girl
• 19
• Orphan

• • Both have sleeping problem, both don’t know how to love, both are alone.

This duet was a slap to my face. It was hard to swallow I swear the lump in my throat is still there.

The thin line between cheesy eroticas and bdsm romances I always talk about? The longing stares, instinctive touches, small gestures, sweet teasings? This is the motherfucking amazing example.

Because of the circumstances they were always in bedroom, and can’t deny there is so many sex scene but if I ever complain about it… Every scene, every touch, every glace tells so much more than a word can.

𝐑𝐀𝐖. 𝐁𝐑𝐔𝐓𝐀𝐋. 𝐇𝐎𝐍𝐄𝐒𝐓.

The thing is,,, Fawn is a mentally abused girl (and physically that she’s not aware), hungry for love n' attention, a people pleaser and has lots of issues…

And Clay fucking understands her better than herself or anyone else. Understands her needs, if it’s pleasure or pain, understands her submission, understands which words he has to say to her, knows how to calm her, knows how to make her understand everything she is capable of. The way he takes care of her, comforts her, makes her smile; claims her, claimed by her. She is never a pawn in his plan or a captive, basically a survivor and he does his best to protect her.

The D/s relationship they have is so natural, praising her or submitting to him never felt like kink.
This doesn’t mean the duet is not hot n’ spicy, it's like fucking hell itself.

Also Clay may seem a soft dominant man yet he has his own demons, fears and needs. Despite this fact, he always puts her first, even
He is so fucking dignified and calm and peaceful but when he unleashed everything he has, he is just vulnerable, lonely, afraid. He is a monster who worships his love.

Every time she teases him, 𝒶𝓌𝓌𝓌. Fawn may be a fragile n’ shy girl, but in her situation she still has her voice, her jealousy, her possession. The trust she has for him is something, an eye-watering thing.

The writing is dark. Everything is detailed; the gruesome of his vengeful kills, their abusive past, triggering scenes, and not just these but all gloomy inner thoughts.

He is married however there is no cheating or OW drama.
Here are the triggers in case:

I’m dying to read them out of bedroom. The times when they call each other by their own names r limited. The epilogue novella for the whole series “His Perfect Little Heirs” announced that will be out next year, I can’t wait to read it, especially for Clay & Fawn but also the others.

this kind of books fucking triggers me but still my remedies

Hmm 🤔 this one was a tricky one to review. I was soooo looking forward to reading this because it had everything you could want tbh.
Age gap ✔️
Mafia Don ✔️
🌶🌶🌶✔️
Family ✔️
All the things I loveeee but it kind of fell flat to me. It was very anticlimactic to me unfortunately, a strong 3.5 🌟 and I was disappointed. This was part two to Clay and Fawns story, leaving off from the last book. It felt like every interaction they had, they were just having sex. And I'm all for smut but not when more then half of the story is just filled with sex, sex, sex and more sex. 🙄 Also I loved 😍 in the first book, Fawn calling Clay "Sir" but in this second part, it was so irritating pls. LIKE all the time she called him "sir" and it was just so annoying. 😒

So sorely disappointed in this. 👍

Everything you needed the conclusion to be!! We really learn more about what makes Clay, Clay in this story. His trama, his solitude, the weight of responsibility and how that colors his relationships with his family members as well as Fawn. Usually when you read an age-gap, author's typically gloss over any differences in maturity, but I thought that Ms. Harris did a fabulous job of reminding you that Fawn really was half his age, lol. She uses different language and is definitely less worldly. At the same time, she makes sure that despite those differences, you can see the why of that attraction through what they give each other emotionally and sexually and while it might make the reader feel a little uncomfortable, it's believable.

It was great to see Fawn's character come into her own as well. I wasn't sure she was going to get there at first, but it was nice to see slow, steady progression as she started finding her own footing and climbing off that pedestal that Clay put her own. I wondered in the last book how the hell there was going to be a true happy ending for them, one that met Fawn's needs, but I was not disappointed. I really am enjoying this series so much and the writing has just been getting better and better. Loved seeing grumpy Max, crazy Bronson, and both their women :) The story also made me super excited about seeing Xander's story!

His Pretty Little Queen is the 5th book of the Kids of The District Series by Nicci Harris. It must be read with His Pretty Little Burden (book 4) and best enjoyed when read in series order. It is told in first person, from dual perspective.

Following the reviews of this book and the previous one. I have read it.

I found books frustrating. After reading the second one I remained unsatisfied.

The heroine was weak, dormant, submissive, affective dependence on hero, naïve to the point of being stupid, self esteem issues ect. All these 'flaws' was to the extreme. I kept waiting when she will finally get some backbone. I am amazed that in 2022 an such heroine can still be created. This type of heroine we saw them in the 1990 books. Don't get me wrong I have nothing against these type of heroines. Btw I enjoy reading this type of books where, heroine has unhappy and somewhere the hero saved her and give her happiness. But here the heroine issues was to extreme. And at the end the heroine has not grow up. For example, even though the hero marriage was convenient, and the heroine has an issue with it and I feel it was not fully address. The plot of this book was promising but somewhere the heroine character ruined it

I believe with the amount of spicy scenes if they were reduced even in half there would be only one book instead of two. Anyway, I expected a little bit more growth from the heroine in this book. And also a little bit more plot.

This book was *chefs kiss* amazing! I've been itching to read the next part in Clay and Fawn's story because I simply cannot get enough of the Butcher Boys. Fawn is completely in love with Clay and Clay is completely devoted to her in every way possible. While he may come off as gruff and tough, around her he's completely different. He cherishes her for all that she is, which I think is really beautiful considering they're on two different sides of the criminal world.

Their chemistry only amplified in this book and Clay's dirty talk just got even better! They have this dynamic, being so far apart in age, that I think Nicci does really well. Sometimes I am reminded their no where near the same age and other times the age gap is irrelevant because their relationship is so intoxicating you as the reader forget about it. I am so obsessed with the two of them it's not even funny at this point. They may be my favourite couple in the Kids of The District series so far!

While I am happy and sad their story is ending, I cannot wait to see what happens with Xander in his book. Nicci does a great job at tying things together and keeping it separate between all the couples, which makes this book series so fun and easy to read.

Thank you for the ARC in exchange for an honest review. Can't wait to continue reading more!

This was part 2 of Clay and Fawn's very passionate love story. The last one ended on a sort of cliffhanger and I was looking forward to this ever since. I love it when books make me giddy and this one made me want to kick my feet up like a child.

The smut, the passion, and the rush I felt to complete this story and feel whole again were very strong.

This was an absolute treat for the daddy kink lover, age gap-simping reader.

Meh glad its finished so uncomfortable
To be honest I skimmed almost 80% of this book. The relationship with fawn and clay just isn't my thing it made me uncomfortable and feel gross. He is beyond controlling she is basically his slave at this point and 100% suffering from Stockholm. There were brief moments where it was like oop maybe now he will change... but nope.
It was creepy that after everything she still calls him "sir" not just in the bedroom just every damn conversation. Of course, he gets her pregnant (since everyone in these series does) and she is over the moon being pregnant again after a traumatic miscarriage a few months earlier from a group rape (she also just found out about but no truama from that at all) but you know she is happy to be "giving him heirs".. sorry what century are we in. And she has no issue just being the side piece who gives him children. He literally says "she's so fertile, it makes me frenzied. I'll keep her pregnant and it'll be easy" *vomit*..
The ending was weird and rushed and again she doesn't seem to care (I probably would have had atleast a moment) I think I'm very much done with this series as much as I was interested in Xander the whole time I just dont know if I can deal with another toxic/abusive relationship.

the sole reason for reading this was because the last one ended with a cliffhanger,
this book was okayish, better than the last one because the girl has apparently grown a spine and finally told cay to get a divorce, Also like what was supposed to be the big action scene was not to the mark for me

warning: this review will make no sense to anyone who’s not caught up to the series so i apologise in advance
Loved these two as a couple but the pacing of the book was again super slow and also feel like there was way too much build up over the Dustin situation and very less focuse on their growth as individuals and hence….as a couple. I wanted more time focusing on Clay and his family dynamics, the brothers having more focus in his life. And j wanted more discussion about the dynamics between fawn and aurora

WOW

Right now I'm having trouble writing a review that includes more than "WOW" and "I want my own Clay too". This is how good this author is at showing and not telling. I lived this book. Literally lived it. My poor heart almost had several arrests. Read it in one day and ignored work. Yesterday read the previous book in the duet, also in one day. I'm not even sorry.

Please note that, despite the amazing story and swoony romance, this is a DARK mafia romance, the continuation of book 4, so the TW are the same, this time with focus on the violence.
There are no perfect people here, only morally grey ones (some more like charcoal). And they are all awesome!

This was a very intense read, with lots of plot and steamy scenes but above all the most AMAZING love story and relationship I have read in a lot of time! Swoony, intense, lovely, sexy, crazy, and more swoony just because. 💖😍💖

Did I mention the steam? OMG! 🔥🔥🥵🔥🔥 We're talking a gazillion degrees hot! The author sure knows how to write awesome smut and especially convey all the sentiments and connexion between the MCs - and, for me, that what makes is hot.

All I wrote about the characters on my review of book 4 still stands in this book. I believe they all had major development and it was brilliantly produced and written.

This was a great conclusion to Clay and Fawn's relationship. I gave the first book in this duet 6 stars because it was taking heavier topics, and it just got me more emotional. This book picked up right where the last one left off. Fawn had to get over the trauma of learning about what happened to her. Clay is so supportive and trying to make her feel comfortable with her sexuality again.

Fawn learns to speak up and ask for what she wants. She truly becomes Clay's queen. Their relationship was so beautiful and sexy. One of the best parts of this book was the revelation of what his mother did to his brother's. I hated his mother so much in the first 3 books, so I loved seeing her have to take responsibility for her abuse.

I also loved seeing Max and Cassidy again. He gets his revenge and has it out with Clay. It was sad because Clay wasn't close to his brothers because he was being raised as the future heir to the Cosa Nostra. It was great seeing him get closer to his brothers and show them he loved them.

I absolutely love this series and Nicci Harris!

Hands down one of my favorite age gap romances in existence. And this age gap is huge, a lot of people won’t like it but man, this is some of the best dark romances I’ve ever read. Also the smut? Had me WEAK.

Two words…CLAY BUTCHER!

To experience a man who is both hard and soft is an experience I wish to have over and over and that’s exactly what we get with Clay. This book was everything I needed for Fawn and her relationship with Clay. As mentioned in my previous review I wasn’t sure how to feel about Fawn- but she firmly took her place as his queen as she grew into herself and took what it was she wanted.

This story gave me all the feels as I watched two people- who many would assume don’t belong together- come together so fiercely and undeniably that it had my heart a flutter. The chemistry and the spice is just chefs kiss perfection- they can’t get enough of each other and I can’t get enough of them. I am ashamed to say I haven’t read the other Butcher boys stories but I will definitely be going back to do that because I have become obsessed with this family.

I absolutely LOVED this book! His Pretty Little Queen has to be my favorite out of the whole series, hands down.

“𝗡𝗼𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗰𝗼𝘂𝗹𝗱 𝗵𝘂𝗿𝘁 𝗺𝗲 𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝗻 𝗲𝘅𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝘆𝗼𝘂."

In Fawn and Clay’s first book- it was super messy. Don’t get me wrong. This book is also kinda crazy, but not as bad as the first one. Them meeting for the first time, Clay pushing her away + fighting his feelings, Fawn dealing with her past, and so much more. It was absolute chaos… BUT. Nicci Harris wrote this MASTERPIECE and it made up for everything.

"𝗜 𝗹𝗼𝘃𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂, 𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘁𝗹𝗲 𝗱𝗲𝗲𝗿, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗜 𝘄𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝗹𝗼𝘃𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗻 𝘄𝗵𝗲𝗻 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝘄𝗼𝗻'𝘁, 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗻 𝘄𝗵𝗲𝗻 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗰𝗮𝗻'𝘁.”

I honestly have no other words besides the fact that I’m going to miss Clay and his Little Deer so much. I’m heartbroken because it’s over.

"His Pretty Little Queen" is the culmination of the story of Fawn and Clay.

Starting from where we left off, we see the aftermath of Fawn becoming Clay's woman. From their sweet and "in love" moments, to their insecurities and moments of doubt. But with his vow of vengeance from the man who is her biological father, will she become a victim of circumstance? Or will their love be able to conquer all?

Enjoyable read with good dose of angst, hot lovemaking and kinks. There is lots of violence in this one, and Im glad we didn't see a threesome!

“I love you, little deer, and I will love you even when you won't, even when you can't.“

I HAVE BEEN DYING TO READ THIS BOOK!! I fell in love with Fawn and Clay in their first book. Their story is so incredible — full of heartbreak and healing. 🦋

The love Clay has for Fawn is so abundant and ugghhh I love the way he loves her.

Their story is the only one that I’ve read in this series, so I really need to read the others, but I don’t think anything will top Fawn and Clay.

This book starts where His Pretty Little Burden ended. This is also the book where Clay and Fawn go through a lot of character development together. In order of this to happen their is still a lot of heartbreak to come. This is the book where Fawn really grows her wings, all because Clay is there for her every step of the way. At the start of this book she is absolutely broken and truly hates herself. Clay shows her her worth and encourages her to grow. She is no longer the lost little orphan but becomes a true partner to Clay. Clay also finally becomes Fawn’s. Clay has always had a soft spot for Fawn but he doesn’t learn how to open up and be vulnerable with her until this book. I absolutely love the couples that Nicci Harris creates, they are truly perfect of each other. After all the heartbreak they have been though I’m glad they get a happily ever after.

I also got really excited about the greater understanding you get of Clay and his past in this book. I really enjoyed that Clay developed a better connection to the rest of his family in this book. I highly recommend that you read the whole series including Facing Us before this book, even though it’s only the 2nd book in Fawn and Clay’s duet. There was quite a few connections that you will miss if you don’t. Some of which had me screaming and shocked when I found out the truth.

,, Months ago, I came in search of a dangerous man. I found the Devil’s
prototype in a flawless dark suit. With clear-blue eyes and dark hair, an aura
larger than life and a kaleidoscope of colours—I can see it today, Mum.
A man who kills brutally, fucks territorially, and hides his emotions
deep within layers of smooth control. He is the Don of the Cosa Nostra.
Evil. Beautiful. Ruthless.
But he’s not the villain of my story.
He is my everything. “

Clay is 🔥♥️

I liked the book although I think the first part was much better. In my opinion, this book should have been full of action and confrontation between the clans of the entire organization. Basically, there was too much action, but action in bed. I don't know where the story went in the wrong direction, but everything started to look like a sex addict who no longer has any other interest except to experience satisfaction. I'm not a puritan, but it was too much for me and I lost focus on the whole story. I really like the writing style of the author, she impressed me, and I hope that I will have the opportunity to enjoy her stories in the future.

I would also like to mention that "Sir" and "Little deer" irritated me a lot. I rolled my eyes every time I read it and that's another reason why I liked this part less than the first.

but where was the actual epilogue ??? and why was the last quarter so incredibly rushed ??? not bad but i expected a lot more …. 🤥 for him planning on getting her pregnant and succeeding we don’t get to see her actual pregnancy or baby??? the fuck. i hate pregnancy trope but i wanted to see fawn and clay as parents from their own POVs like i’m sure we’ll get a glimpse of Xanders book but i’m disappointed

I read both pretty little burden & queen... well it was awesome, besides I liked "burden" more...
I like the way he was rough, kinda sadistic with her and at the same time kind and soft... he's so hot...
She's so submissive 🤭...
I expected these books would be more dark but it wasn't that dark it was good 💞😋

I like this one a lot better than the first one but also this one wasn’t really needed because it was literally just sex sex and sex and then you got her meeting her father, but it wasn’t like that big of a thing. But for the first part of the duet, I really like the rawness of the characters.
